Pixonic (sort of) confirms no status change by mk2 process

So yesterday I was quick to fire off a complaint in the game when I saw my lvl 5 scourge suddenly taking 4 days and 4m silver to get to level 6.
Earlier today I got a response from Pix support stating what have already been posted on Facebook, technical difficulties yada yada. I then pushed the guy on the technicalities on Mk2 enhancement, specifically if it would change the "grandfather" status of the item, fully expecting to be ignored.
Surprisingly I got a response rather quickly.
While the wording is a little vague (shouldn't or won't?) I guess this is the closest thing to an answer we have so far.
