Hello, I want tobuy a new smartphone and thought that maybe somebody can help me. Right now I have Sony Xperia Z5 Compact - it's quite powerfull, or it was 2 years ago. It's small, but gets really hot when gaming. This time I want something bigger. The phones I'm thinking about are: - LG v30 (last years top hardware) - LG G6 (I like the look, but the hardware is not top class (processor and camera)) - Samsung Galaxy S8 (I don't like the proportions - it's too long) - Huawei Mate 10 Pro (no mini-jack) - Huawei P20 (Pro is too expensive, but the P20 is not waterproof (no IP67) only splash resistant)
What do you think? Maybe someone has one of those?

Well my one and only Samsung was a s4 galaxy. and I won't go into the long story but it was a P.O.S if you ask me. Samsung is a ?female dog? to work with too, had to send it in for repair.
It had nice hardware but I won't get another.. that particular one came "free" with 2year contract
Don't have any experience with Huawei. Never had a LG (smart phone) but the flip phones I had back in the day was well built, My bro has one not sure which model.. he goes thru phones about as often as most people change their underwear and his current one has held up for 9 months.. a new record.
So out of what you listed I'd look at a LG.
Personally I like moto, don't get a VZ branded one normally moto lets you unlock the boot loader but VZ has a stick up their ?bum-bum? and forbids moto from releasing a unlock code for their branded moto's.. and i've also been impressed with the budget ZTE's You get a hell of a lot of phone for the money with them, problem is ZTE use to be easy to root back in the day but the models they've been putting out the last few years are locked down tight as a drum.
So ya.. my pick would be LG.. or Moto.

I'd avoid Chinese ones to be honest. They still have issues with spyware being embedded into the OS.

What phones ain't chinese these days? I think pertty much all of them have some sort of data collection/usages/phone home bs..
I always try to gut as much as that stuff as I can when I get a phone.. root or not.
firewall anything you miss.
Last phone I bought couldn't even get to launcher without connecting to the internet and phoning home.. part of googles device initialization bull. Our information overlord.

That's total BS and black propaganda towards Chinese phones or "Chinese made" products in general. There's absolutely no truth to that. In fact, everything or at least most of what you use every day ARE MADE from China. So quit hating.

All phones get hot while gaming. Newer phones with more CPU and GPU horsepower make use of it and, of course, get warm/hot.
The most important feature of any Android phone is: Full LineageOS support. You don't want to depend on the manufacturer for updates, do you?

Huawei and Xiaomi phones are to my opinion and observation, just awesome. I won't mind picking their high end stuff over a Samsung S or Note series or a fruit product any day any time for gaming.

Pic a phone with the newst Android OS. It should be a phone w OS that has no probs to handle this game. Ask Pixonics to gain some advize. I think Samsung is doing great and the best Smartphone Company on the planet. LG is great but I wud never pic Huawei. info about smartphones: m.gsmarena.com/

Thanks for moving my thread into the right place. So, nobody owns any of these? I own a Samsung Galaxy S9. The gameplay is very fluid and smooth. I cannot comment on a S8.

I have a S8 and so far so good. As for the game itself, it runs perfect and the phone never got too hot.

I have an S7 Edge. My advice is to avoid phones with raised screens. Also, Choose your case carefully. I have an Otterbox Defender, and it is NOT game friendly. Hell, it doesn't even like a Qwerty keyboard very much.

I'm still using my Nexus 6P. War Robots has effectively fried my battery though. Other than War Robots toasting my battery it's been brilliant. It's running Android 8.1 though it's close to seeing the end of it's lifecycle for OS support. I'm going to wait it out and see what the new Pixels have to offer up.

I just wanted to say that I got the LG V30, and it's great. The screen is big (a lot bigger then my previous Xperia z5 Compact ) but the game runs flawlesly.

The LG V30 was on my radar for a long time, but I decided to drop it because I can't find it here in Canada easily. Sure, I can order it off a site, but I wanted to hold it in my hands and play with it before committing. I've been watching the prices and I'm on track to buy either a Note 8 or S9+ later this summer when my contract is up. I really want a larger screen this time round. I once thought I would get the OnePlus, but I don't like some of their design choices lately with the newer models and gave up. I like Samsung cause they have great hardware, good design, and they come with the Game Centre app build in that lets me do things like take screen shots and record game play and turn of notifications while I'm playing. Sure, I can probably find apps that do that, but the nice thing about the Game Centre is that it's seamless. There's also a Secure Folder app that I can get for Samsung phones for additional privacy. Again, you can probably install that on other phones, but I've read that there could be issues.
I currently run a S7 and I love it. The cons are that I now wish the screen were bigger, and I wish the battery lasted longer. On the flip side, the battery charges really fast, portable battery chargers are cheap, and I'll be getting a larger screen in a few months. As for phones getting hot while playing, that's normal.

If I could afford it I would wait for LG v35 (with new Snapdragon 845 and Andreno 630, + 6 GB RAM).
The v30 some some sort of Game Centre, I didn't test all the settings, but you can change the resolution for every game if you need more FPS.
The v30 is wider than S8/S9, and I think it's better - the screen is flat, but you have small bezels on the sides. S8/S9 screen is rounded on the edges.
