Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on where to spend my silver and Workshop Points (gold saving for fifth slot). I've been putting money into randomly levelling up my weapons, occasionally swapping in my Patton x4 spirals. My favourite play style is to run around collecting beacons, my favourite bot by miles is my Destrier and it's Pinatas for it's peek-a-boo. I've been some what tempted by the Griffin, Stalker and Carnage as they look like direct upgrades to my current roster. (Side question: does War Robots offer discounts on gold during special events?) Both the Griffin and the Stalker are excellent bots. Sadly I'm not a Carnage owner so hopefully one will also reply. The Griffin is fun as hell, and carries a smack tonne of firepower no matter your taste, and the Stalker sounds perfect for your playstyle, playing Peek-A-Boo will be way more intersting especially if you're planning on running Pinatas.
Keep in mind that the WSP Penalty applies to both the Stalker and Carnage, while the Griffin being a heavy bot starting at level 6 will throw you up a tier or two. You will be seeing a few more high end bots decked out in awesome gear, so be prepared to adequately outfit your new bots accordingly. Many recommend sorting your weapons first, so dig around all the advice you can in order to best follow your path. I highly recommend the MM guides too, loads of valuable info regarding how to balance your hangar.
But above all else, have fun!

I reccomend you drop the destrier. He will be completely useless if you reach high bronze, and with the Schütze and the Cossack you have enough cappers (think about a Gep if you liked the playstyle...),I'd say drop the schütze too, get 2 boa's with thunder and taran (if you find the gold you can try out an Orkan later)- its simply the best medium and can go all the way to top tier. You will be aiming at high bronze tier, matchmaking-wise. So level medium bots to 4 with L6 weapons on them (lights can go bit higher.) Imho the Patton is sub-par (dunno if that gun buff happened but molots are still "meh") - try him with pinatas or crvs if you want to train rockets/ splash damage or EP Magnums if you want a gunner... Imho best hangar for high bronze tier would be (if you dont want to get a Gep): Cossack+Taran Boa Thunder/Orkan Boa Thunder/Orkan or Taran last a bot for 500m rocket fire, Crv Patton or (my choice) a Golem Trident/ CRV/ Tulumbas Edit: avoid heavys for now, also WSP or Britbots. You will taste low silver tier soon enough when your win% increases. @purchasing: get 2xTarans and Magnums (depending if you want to try mag Patton you'll need 4...thats also the reccomended amount in the buyers guide) for your WSP. Sounds like a boring shoppinglist, but a stack of plasma weapons is essential @5th slot: I'd say get one or two Orkans first- slap them on a Boa with a thunder. This is one of the best setups in high bronze (and still viable afterwards) gold-selling event: never heard about one, but I am rather new here myself

Carnage is a beast close up with thunders or mid range with Zeus or tridents. He is fast, but squishy. One of my favorite bots. As for sales, they usually consist of gold or workshop guns and bots being sold for $.

The Carnage will bump him in silver tier... would strongly advise against and point at all the plasma he'll need anyways. As for sales: really? Besides the initial Gepard offer? Still waiting to see that^^

I would advise you not to buy any WSP bots first. Get the weapons, it will really help you farm the gold (by winning matches). I would advise to get 4x Tarans 4x Magnums first before considering about bots. Those weapons on a Griff is very devastating and still widely used in gold Tier.

Agreed. Weapons first. I wasn't suggesting getting a carnage. I should have been clear. I was just trying to provide information that hadn't been provided yet.

Ok, I felt like I got some seriously good advice here. *Changed out the Molots to Pins and I can certainly see immediate improvement. I can still feel the sluggish movement and squishiness of the Patton so I'll invest in leveling it up to 4. *I must admit I don't like it but I'll work towards joining the Magnum club, as their firepower has been pretty obvious. Will put off the new bots and get some better weapons.
Today's games have consistently put me up against Leos, Griffins, Natashas and even a Fury... which makes me scratch my head. It does put into perspective that my tools are not where I want them to be.
Thanks for advice so far!

One aspect to the Carnage as well... You can keep it low level and get into some pretty low tier play, however, it just doesn't shine until you get its base speed up... I think level 9 is the level that showcases its game play the best due to the base speed being fast enough to not feel like a snail and HP being high enough to matter. That is prolly so far away from where you are at to keep the idea on the back burner. I got one... and my mediums and heavies are mostly all 6s... and I still don't use it much at all... it is just not there in speed. My weapons aren't high enough to warrant upgrading it further, however, so unless I want to run 2 of either of the 600m heavy weapons on it... which I do occasionally... it just sits there lookin' pretty. Honestly, I prefer the Golum with Tri/Tulum/Pins for my midrange set up. It's faster and more versatile at this bot level. However, once you can get the Carnage there... it is MADE to play peek a boo. That special ability is perfect for that... pop out, hurl some Tridents, then retreat to cover to let the ability recharge while letting the shield eat any return fire that isn't plasma. Or, pop out and Rush to the target, get in their face and shoot em with double Thunders.... while listening to I like the tier play I am at so I don't feel like I will see the mid gold levels anytime soon... so my Carn is gonna stay at 6... maybe 7, and I will hold off on using it as the the thundercarn it is meant to be. As far as the rest... I wholeheartedly agree with the others... get some Tarans and Mags then go ahead and at least get one Trident, maybe 2. And be prepared for the Prolot to cost WP when it comes out. Heavy WSP weapons are 7500. Good luck!

It does put into perspective that my tools are not where I want them to be. Thanks for advice so far! Dont feel bad about the Plasma Weapons (you do know they ignore the blue shields of fujins and carnages? -they dont ignore physical shields of Rhinos and Britbots - thats why you need to train rockets too)- they are simply essential. Griffins and Natashas usually mean you took a dip in low silver... not a prob for you because theyre usually badly equipped and once you have a Boa leveled you can basically wreck "creative" Griffin designs (and the usual 2x artillery Natasha is free damage). The Fury seems like a MM accident though. They happen. Better than a Rhino or a Mag Gep clubber Edit: and definately get like 2 Orkans before the 5 slot. While the 4th one was the best investment you could make, those 2 prettys could mean a huge increase in damage & overall wins. 5th slot is mainly the luxury to eject a bot if you want another without thinking too much about it, but in 80% of high bronze/ low silver matches its not a neccesity.

My beacon hanger is Cossack with ecu, Stalker with magnums, Gep with mags or pins (depends how I feel, and rhino. yeah, sometimes u need the rhino firepower to just nail that beacon. as a beacon cap ur priority is to get the cap, not make the kill. there are lots of easy caps during a game. the dest is just not suitable for silver + beacon duty. too slow, too weak, too tempting to use it for peek attacks where u get smoke in a quick burst of missile fire. Every serious capper has a Stalker. Even a Gep. Cossacks are the quickest due to jump jets. without ecu they don't last.
