Please change it. This is more vulgar than the word it is replacing.
(I am using someone else's words verbatim, so if you recognize them you should take credit where credit is due. I just wanted to get this idea out there in its own thread, because I feel strongly about it.)

While we're at it, most of the words are headscratchingly obtuse and goes out of their way to demean and offend.
I mean, really? In which universe are words like 「really happy」 still being used? And, let's face it, someone put their time into replacing a word into even more offensive one.

I'm against profanity in any forum, but especially those that include under 18's. I also enjoy a good laugh. Having said that, I also try to be sensitive to other people's feelings. A few of the alternative terms chosen to replace the actual profanity, though humorous to some, might be considered to be more offensive by others. Someone might need to take it down a peg or two.

And, let's face it, someone put their time into replacing a word into even more offensive one. I do wonder what kind of person put some of these words together. It almost sounds like they were closeted, and violently grossed out by women. If the censor system words can be changed, maybe a group of people could be selected to decide on replacement words. I’ll see about making some changes.
That said, I’m of the opinion that some people on God’s green earth will find ways to be offended at everything. Also, there’s an old saying that goes along the lines of, “if you try to make everyone happy, no one will be happy.”

Also, there’s an old saying that goes along the lines of, “if you try to make everyone happy, no one will be happy.” One might suggest that if a censor panel were to be assembled, it should be unisex. That should cut down on most accidentally sexist terms. Of course, as Poopface said, even it were approved by a panel, someone would undoubtedly be offended at some of the final results. You can't make everyone happy, but at least you'll know that you did your best. |
