I almost named myself Granny Gamer, because I'm a new grandma (almost a year now), as well as a new gamer (for the last 6 weeks). But there is already someone by that name on YouTube. she's 80 and mostly plays Skyrim. She's adorable and I didn't want to steal her name.
Sky Woman is the meaning of my Ojibwe name. But I also really like the sky, especially at night. And flying and going fast in War Robots. Bots that go really slow is torture for me.
I have a Treb/Gekko Natasha, all level 7, but it's so slow and really lonely being a sniper. I prefer capping and knife fighting (is that the right terminology for battles up close?). This game may be all about patience, but I will still choose my speedy bots like Gareth, Stalker, Rogotka, Geppard, or even Griffin. I loved Cossack in the beginning.
Ah, I get so indecisive with my bot and build choices. I should get some advice on my hangar, so I'll go over to that section next.
So this thing about clans. Maybe some of you can answer this or point me in the right direction: what motivates someone to join a clan/what is the benefit? And then, is there a place where all of the clans are listed so I can do a little research on them? I don't want to apply to dozens of clans, only to be accepted by one that isn't a good fit for me. You know what I mean? But who knows, maybe there's no openings in any of them?
Anyway, sorry for blabbering on and on. It's nice to meet you! I look forward to "hanging out" with you on the battlefield ?
P.S. I am level 25, silver league 2.

G'day skywoman I'm a grandfather and also play brawlers (apart from my Shocktrain Bulgasari) cannot be bothered with long range too boring. I also prefer light / medium fast bots I have a Lance and Fury but since I got my Spectre and Kumiho in the last couple of days neither of them are in my garage. I also enjoy my Hover by the way the Spectre, Bulga, Hover and Kumiho were all freebies just from playing and giveaways. Stick with what you like and learn to play them well medium bots these days will destroy heavies if you play them right and have fun. Oh yeah I love all sky sports having flown gliders, power (full size and r/c) and been up in a helicopter, balloon, parachute and parasailing.

At one time I think there were a bunch of us over 50. There are still a lot of clans to join. Clan members can give you pointers on how to play the game, and it is more fun playing with others. There is 6on6 league and Old school league that you could join to meet people before you join a clan. They speak to each other using a program called discord. There a thread about Old school just started recently. You could look for a thread about the 6 on 6.

Clans are great to squad with. If you get yourself into a good clan who doesn't tank, then you know that when you squad with them, you have the assurance that everyone will be trying their best. Also, some of the larger clans are split into multiple smaller ones so that people in the same/similar leagues can squad together without pulling lower league players into higher league games. For example, my clan just created the Nitro Expert clan specifically just for that purpose as many of us expert leaguers were getting pulled into Masters or Champ games. Some clans are also set up on Discord, which is a social media apps of sorts. It's almost like a mini forum but with just your clan mates in there. We chat, goof around, share insights, etc.

And a fellow grandparent too! I enjoy small planes, but will never jump out of one. I watched someone do that once. It was thrill enough to see the ground from the open door as he fell out of it! But helicopters and hot air balloons, yes those are great. I've never tried parasailing. I keep getting an offer for a Hover+gold. So tempting! But I'll wait to see if I get it free somehow. Along with the rest of the bots you mentioned. It's hard to have patience, but that's what this game is about, right?

Exactly, it's all about patience something which I do lack at times Thank you for the kind words I only did one parachute jump when I was a lot younger but still was fun. I also ride motorcycles and have done so since I was 14 and will do so as long as I can.

I've spent hours watching videos and reading how to guides, tips and suggestions. It's funny you mention Discord, because I was just asking my daughter about that a few days ago. She's miles ahead of me, level 28 gold league.

I cheated on mine and watched an ad to complete that task. I assume everyone has had that task, where you need to complete 3 battles with a squad. It would be nice to be able to talk before, during, after battles though. And get to know a few people. So how do you find a clan that doesn't tank? Tankers/Seal Clubbers get on my nerves so badly that my temper flares up. Grrr! They're mean, ugly, cheaters who ruin the game for everyone. No matter how desperate I'd be for event items or gold, it's not worth it. And woe to the clans who encourage it! Karma... Sorry for the rant Also how do you find the good clans like yours, with enough people in it to have smaller groups like you described? Is there a directory somewhere? Thank you so much for responding to my intro. Everyone's replies up to this point really makes a person feel welcome here. So, thank you to everyone! ?

Finding a good clan would be so much easier with mixed platform play. Then I could battle my sister’s android with my IOS awesomeness.

Your neice will be happy you're in this forum, and I am too! And yes, I agree. It would be great if we could all battle! Maybe there will be a way one day, somehow.

My main clan is Nitro Glycerin and it's broken up into smaller ones. Nitro Squad is the one for Diamond players, and the one I'm in right now, Nitro Expert is for Expert league players. We have other clans for lower league players too. I'm just not sure what their names are at the moment. Nitro Expert is pretty small now, but it's growing bit by bit. We're all on Discord too, so that you can interact directly with anyone in any of the clans. It's a bit like this forum but on your phone and is specific to clan members only. There's also a chat function on Discord so that you can talk during the games. I haven't used it yet though as it needs a bit of coordinating. There are other good clans too. The best thing is to just look up the clan section here and read the recruiting intros and see which clan tickles your fancy. I was in several clans before I came to Nitro, and here I'll stay.

Maybe I'll just wait until I'm in gold league, then look for a clan. Although I'll be keeping my eye out for clans that might be a good fit. Who are recruiting. That I qualify for. If I can figure out how to apply haha
