Today I decided on an ultimatum. I had enough gold for 11/12 for a Lancelot, I decided that if I don't get it, I quit. As seen by the title, I am free from this cancerous game! No more will I rage at pay to win gear or team death match, no more kumiho though. I have finally quit the game after 2 years of playing. Now I need something new to play or do.

I got impatient, I only needed 700 more gold. But then I realized that this game is pain, so just like the entire game as a role, I decided to let RNGesus to decide my fate. And believe or not the moment I deleted the game I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Not sure I get it...wouldn't it have been cheaper just to pay the 5k au and bought it outright? Why waste resources (especially limited ones) on a rigged roulette? The other prizes were all crappy anyways...

'Lord, if you want me to keep playing, give me a sign, like a Lancelot.' He drew a line in the sand and stuck to it. The final straw. I'm running out of analogies here. |

I have to quit soon, not finding enough time to play. Life down here in gold isn't bad, but I've seen my friends play in masters/champs and I can see how anybody can have a fit of rage.

My clan last night kept getting matched against all-champion clan squads because one of our mates is a Master (the rest of us are 'just' experts). It was hopelessly brutal. Entire hangars of mk2 spectres, Inquisitors, dashes, shocktrains, Scourges and Orkans. Zero fun on the receiving end, and I can't imagine it would be too exciting for very long on the winning end, either. I mean, how long can you run around shooting sitting ducks with impunity before you get bored out of your skull. All I kept thinking was, if this is what I have to look forward to, I may as well just quit now. I think I even blurted that out in the squad chat. |

I was planning on permanently closing this tab, the forums tab after this post died into the archive, just wanted to have a final discussion(or something like that) before saying goodbye to war robots for good. Anyway, yes it would not be worth the roullete. I know it is rigged. I know how rigged everything was. I was tired of playing, it felt more like a job than fun. Yes it is symbolic, in fact Danny Linguini kind of described my actions perfectly.

Farewell. This game does incorporate a lot of elements of addiction, fun and frustration. Finding better things to do with my time has crossed my mind many of times.
It would be good if you come back to the forum in a months time and let us know how you are going.

This game is kinda like a drug, you have it in your mind that you want to quit, but you keep coming back to it. Quitting this takes multiple attempts, like more than 3 for most people.

I quit after the kbots came to the test server for the first time. Came back right when the spectre was released.
Sadly after about 2/3 weeks of playing, I've jumped from silver III all the way to diamond three and now I want to quit again lol

well I spent a short lived week in Champions and came to realize I don't ever want to go back. I am not wasting all the time and resources to have everything MKII. Once I got my head caved in and backpeddled into Masters all is calm once again. Sooner or later this game will become unplayable and at that point I will waste all my Au on paint jobs and name changes just to get rid of it.

A month or so ago, I started a Smurf account, and am now in Silver I. Kind of nice down here, aside from the occasional Tanker Trash. I keep everything at level 6, so I know I won't advance very much higher even if someday I start building component bots and weapons. Right now, I'm saving for a fifth slot. Aside from dropping $4.99 US on a Gareth, I've been strictly F2P since I started this account, so it will be a while before I go very far, up or down. I still play on my main account at Expert III, but I think it's more fun in the lower leagues. |
