Yes, they implemented this system to counter those that would abuse the system of "everyone's a winner."

What about people who disconnect after their hangar has been destroyed? Does this disqualify them from getting anything even though they contributed?

First game of the day... DCs, watched em do it, and an AFK. (The AFK made me laugh a little, he used his Lance as the AFK bot, repair costs ftw!)... we spawned in the riverbed of SF, he followed another up to the Farm Beacon and just parked getting the beacon. I assume it was just enough to get a coin. Anyway, I hadn't noticed my lack of teammates yet, had taken center and defended it from 2 bots, turned around, wondered where my help was since Gary isn't the best at holding a Beacon against Rhinos, when a trident then zeus strike took me out. I then re-spawned, and saw two of my teammates destroy. They had been standing in the spawn, I guess waiting for a minute or two to see if it gave them anything, then ejected.
They didn't get coins. The AFK did.
*Shrugs*
I could get mad, but what's the point?
*Edit: I did get to kill a Rhino with my OrkRog before it ended, hehehe

When I see the REjects blasting off at the start and the deadbeats just standing there, I simply have fun that match trying things I would not normally do. Once I walked my Griffin under a Deadbeat Rajin and wore him like a armored hat. I was able to fire too. Last night a pushed a dead beat G-had to the center ramp in Yam... His shield worked for me..he he. In these games make it about one on ones and trying experimental things, that way you actually get something out of it. If you are down 2 at the start, you loose, its as simple as that.
