If it was like the pictures it wouldn't be that bad...but look at how the Strider is on the Test Server! It looks awful! One of the crappiest and hastiest products I've ever seen on the TS.

I think it's awesome. Looking forward to playing the game in 2018 and seeing what other new things are in store.

Yeah the game is so great and there is nothing left to give attention to other than the graphics. There isn't a 16 page list of real problems that need to be corrected....

The relentless march towards 80's alien war machines from Japanese anime continues.

Umm who cares ? Unless you sell your kidney and cash in your pension , you won't be able to play with these any time soon.

The 2nd to last pic is a Natasha I think. But if you look up further there is another pic of it with a front and back view. The back view shows exhaust ports like bots that jump, rush, or dash have. Maybe there are some new tricks up an old bot's sleeves? The last pic looks like an updated Lance to me. And it actually looks great. But none of this makes the game a bit better if all the old problems just get a new skin.

After watching Vivalaresistance video about learning to accept the War Robots experience and meta shifts, this is now my attitude about what’s coming:

Is the last pic a revised Lance? Looks totally boss! The picture does appear on Google Images if I do a search on 'War Robots Natasha', though way down the page. It does affirm a connection to the Natasha. I with a high degree of certainty, its connected with the Natasha. The other two bots above it is the revised Griffin and Leo, with the Destrier and possibly revised Gepard.

Basically turning into fast pace mech shooter like Hawken. Didnt like that game. First bot looks to me like a new dash, with three hard points. Likely another light dash. The one on the bottom, the Natasha, appears to be getting armor upgrades. The things on the back might be a module of some kind. The upgraded Leo now has something like thrusters on the back. I won't be surprised if its something like Lancelot's which allows the mech to run as a special ability. I kind of enjoyed Hawken, I have to admit. The lack of a proper MOBA style server infrastructure and monetization tactics --- you can buy a mech for $5 --- probably killed it in the end. I suppose a game should not go greedy like the way Pixo, Bungie and EAS has been, but it shouldn't be too altruistic and idealistic either and expect that dreams and good intentions can pay for server power bills.

Personally, I think all these new designs are gorgeous, but I also don't feel like they integrate all that well into the established War Robots aesthetic. That could have something to do with why the old aesthetic is being revised, with classic bots like the Boa, Schutze and Leo(?) receiving redesigns to better match the new status quo. Something less along the lines of "pragmatic, but somewhat fantasy-inspired war machines" to "elegant, full-fantasy war machines". I guess missing that spark of believability is a little lame but I get some awesome bots out of it so I don't mind that much.

Compare that to the illustrations of the revised classics --- destrier, likely Gepard, Natasha, Griffin and Leo. I tend to think the hard points on this bot translates to a light point on top with two mediums on the side. Possibly an upgraded Kumiho.

I feel the whole point of the revisions is to remove the established aesthetic, and replace it with a brand new one. This already started before mail.ru took over when the Golem gets redesigned, and mechs like the Carnage and Stalker came out. I think there is a good reason for that, and that this game --- which unfortunately has the name War Robots --- needed to differentiate itself thematically from other Russian wargame MOBAs, namely World of Tanks, War Thunder and Armored Warfare, all of which already involves a whole bunch of realistic machines. The letter W and War comes out too often.

Part of what I love(d) about Walking War Robots now War Robots was the look. It set itself apart from SO many other games. And these new designs are just killing it. A slippery slope down to the boats in Battle Bay.

I'm going to miss the WW2 aesthetic. The game was inspired by our history. Still, it'll be interesting to see where this game goes.

I really don't like the new designs/designer. Dunno why they're trying so hard to move away from the "plausible military vehicle" aesthetic, but every new bot since the dashes looks like it came from some 90s anime or a Michael Bay movie. :/ What they want to do to the Leo is a crime. It's the best-looking bot in the game IMO; certainly the one that looks most like it was designed by an actual engineer as an actual weapon, not a recent arts grad as something to "look cool". It now looks impractically expensive to manufacture with all that pointless curvy greebling covering the lovely flat sloped armour plates. When you're trying to maximise your war production you don't bother with pointless crap like that...
Also, since we have multiple designs for so many bots now, how aboutletting the old one be Mk1, and the newer ones Mk2? Keeps more assets and variety in the game, and also you can see immediately if a tanker douchetard is about to melt your face...
But really I just want them to stop adding new 「dookie」 nobody asked for and start fixing the stuff that's been broken and complained about forever, like the crappy UI; even if every page change didn't take several seconds (which it does), there's still so much missing in the way of basic usability and convenience features that it needs a redesign from the ground up. Hell, you can't even sort things!

An image gradually fading into memory. The classic bots in their original forms. Note the Natasha having two medium points.

Another shot of the Griffin makeover. This bot design is definitely confirmed as the Natasha makeover.

Brilliant The old model becomes an extra graphical asset to debug for graphical anomalies with each new game version.

I am going to speculate that of the three weapons shown up there, Arbalest and Flux might be a medium and a heavy Gekko, and Scorpio is a heavy Hydra/Spiral type. It may also be possible that Scorpio is a heavy Aphid.

The second weapon kinda looks like reaper's shotgun from overwatch. Doesn't resemble it too much, but the resemblance is there.
