That is really sad news Russel. I have enjoyed the content that you have provided on this Forum and it has always been insightful and balanced. I also have appreciated the great deal of time you have taken to provide analyses, updates on the Wiki and your participation in trying to improve the game through Pix representation forums. I wish you well in your future endeavours. Happy journey.

Ohhh Russel. Only logged in a few times during Xmas and must say this thread is sort of sad to see. It was coming for a while but it's real now. It is sad bc the game you loved has changed as per your reasons and it's a let down for you. Especially considering when you put in so much effort in good faith. You will be missed. But it's also good news. The habit is broken and can move onto bigger and brighter things. Change is an opportunity especially when you weren't enjoying it any more. All the best mate, enjoyed your company and wouldn't mind if you visit back time to time.

I can share and appreciate your opinion on a number of War Robots-related (and not related, too) things! Was nice to hear that from you!

Russel , I know you're still here. You still can't quite give up a good thing or you wouldn't have come back yesterday. You need to give the 6/6 gameplay a shot. All of your reasons for leaving are eliminated when you play the 6/6 stuff. Here's why (responses in yellow). A lot of old school gameplay is being had. There are both new and more experienced types playing 6/6 as well as a number of people you "know" from on here including Deadeye , ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 , and SuperHero to name just a few. And that's just the iOS side. Videos are also starting to get collected showing matches. Try it out. It's great fun and you won't even need to open your wallet. Besides, if you gave it a shot, it might entice Ron Gaul back to try it. From what I gather, he as a lot of the same griefs about the game as the rest of us.

Good post, and good reasons for leaving the game. Ultimately, if a game isn't fun anymore, then it's time to stop. Personally, I'm not happy with a lot of the stuff that's happening too. Mk2 is the true cancer of this game IMO. But, a lot of the new stuff is geared towards faster bots and faster action, and like you, I detest slow bots. So, I'll be looking forward to some of the changes and will be trying to have fun down where I am with no interest of getting into the high leagues.

As usual, the Poo is true (I couldn't help myself). I will also add that Pixonic is aware of the 6/6 league and are even prepared to support it through rewards in the tournament, so I don't see it going away anytime soon, unless it just loses it's appeal to the players. As much time as you have invested in this game, there is virtually no downside to giving it a shot and little to no learning curve. Building a 6/6 hanger can be done in a couple weeks, or even faster if you have gold and have nothing else to spend it on (which if you're giving up the main game, you don't!) Give it a shot Russel

You are right - I log in here from time to time, but the reason is not the game. It is a possibility to maybe grab a beer with some of the good guys I met here, so I basically browsing for pm or sending pm now and then. Game has died for me, and not because of $$ aspect. As I said earlier, I could easily ask Tofsla for some gear, write review, some tactical advice or do another Pix job for it. Not a biggie. The problem is the direction of the game, I would still need to make silver/gold to get some things upgraded, do some dailies, etc. it would be not fun boring experience to do in order to have 2-3 hours of fun gameplay in 6pack. Then comes the question of putting my money where my mouth at. I loved the game - I paid for it and done some work. Now game is 「dookie」 - I do not play it and not participating in promotions. So I am not hiding from the community, and still free to chat, but game is deleted and I am not putting my time in advertising/promoting it anymore, simple as that. It was nice hearing from you! Glad to see you pink all over now, keep it up ;)

I repeat this once again, Tofsla, as well as many other CMs are really good guy, I like him very much. But once again, quitting game altogether just goes well with my feeling of the game progress. I would not support, in any way (playing, watching ads, counting towards player base statistics, etc) product of an awful management. Just my 5 kopecks here :)

RusselAs much as I would like to argue with you and drag you back into the game to roll out in some 6pack fun, I get why you don't want to and admire you for standing on your principles. I would like to think that a STRONG 6/6 could help show Pix that there is more money to be made in BALANCE than hyper selling new content with planned OP releases... but I think I know better, by now. Just..., man if you change your mind... we would love to have ya! Enjoying the game in spite of all the crap Mailonic as done to ruin it is revenge in and of itself. 6/6 caps their profit from it... and those that chose only to play 6pack usually already have the gear needed since it is all legacy gear... but again, I get it. Regardless... good seeing ya around and I hope all is well with you and yours!

I am obviously here (getting email notifications and stuff), but I feel like it is better to hop off the game while memories are still fun, instead of playing it to the metal and then having bad memories (you know, like in real-life relationship :-D ), that's why I do not consider going back at all, whatever Mailxonic will do in the future. I discovered that there are a lot of fun stuff I can dive into, that I was not thinking about previously, like "Dead of winter" boardgame, "Cryptocurrency" stuff, "Age of Rivals" game on Kongregate (or in AppStore), and I'm having fun there. If any of you would like to get into some of these stuff - feel free to ping me, it is more fun when there are a lot of people together. I know that VivaLaResistance is trading some coins, too :-D Maybe other guys are into the stuff. Still cheaper that Mk2 Dash hangar ;) Ohh, okay, the one thing that still fun, War Robots-related, is chatting on the forum and discord (I am happy these things are not run by Pix), but I need to go take a look at some Nassim Taleb articles about "random events" for tonight's reading =)

"fun in cryptocurrency stuff" ?
During this first 2018 bloodbath, remember:
- how you feel before the drop - how you feel during the drop - the type of candles that makes you feel that way
Remember it, because it will happen again.

I see no “bloodbath” here at all. Bought some at ~11k per btc, sold at ~16.5k, bought some more recently at ~11 again :) In any case, I am not putting my life savings into it. So if I to lose it all I most probably say: “oh crap”, get a bottle of Jameson and will not go on vacation this year :)

But Russel I just came back!!!!! Very well stated though. I've noticed that these kids really need to be taught how to play the game properly..... My goal is to set out and make content teaching them how to use the real stuff. That they don't need to fall into the trap of all the crap.... unless they so choose to because it interests them or they have the cash to blow. We'll see, maybe I'll be snuffed out too. haha I've left the YouTube "Influencers" group that I was in. I will not promote any of the new stuff. Nope, never. I've got a vendetta out against it all just like I always did the Ancilot.

But by playing the game you are still giving money to Pix, ads and active playerbase count ;) And it is hard for me to justify for newcomers not to play components stuff when a lot of hardcore champs are, saying "I hate this weapon\bot, but I MUST use it to win in my league". What kind of a mindset is that, I wonder :-D Anyways, good luck with your channel, I always liked your energy and dedication at your videos!

Why I am leaving the game. Not intended to be a rant. Not about "paytowin". Let's get things straight. The game is NOT dying. Believe me, only War Robots Wiki forum is. Old-school guys are leaving, but there are many more new players coming into the game, younger ones. Young kids find "forums" too complex to use and stupid to navigate, so they use Discord\Line\Facebook\GooglePlus to communicate. It is NOT expensive to play - if you keep looking at Pixonic FB page, MechSpectrum blog and in-game news (envelope icon) you will get plenty of opportunities to get all the latest and best stuff. It is NOT hard to play (more on that later). You can get into champs if you strive for ~6-9 months, and even faster if you use gold\real money to speed up upgrades (so far the only definite prerequisite for champs is having your hangar at about lvl9) So, why am I leaving then? Some backstory. Currently, I got 510m+ Silver, 17K gold and every robot\weapon I need plus more. I started playing February 2017, made it quick to Diamond, Expert and touched champs (got to tier 64 out of 82 by that time) by September. Made it to Pixonic insiders community as a writer. Got a lot of posts and reputation on War Robots Wiki, WikiForum and Deplorables Discord (really fun one, I tell you!). Met a LOT of great people everywhere connected to the game. Got everything there was in the game (save for Fury, Lance, Rhino and Haechi), upgraded stuff to 9, and some Orkans to 12 even. Won every event save for current one - Hover bot event (by the time of writing I couldn't be bothered playing). The game finally died for me with the introduction of Mk2 stuff. After trying to beat a dead horse with a stick, I finally letting it go. For me, the game becomes bad in so many ways, I just can't account all of them; but I'll at least try: 1) Infinite hangar upgrade. Prior to Mk2 you could max out two weapons or robots per month - not really fast - but pretty often it goes even slower (around 25 days for single Raijin or Ancile). Given the fact that you typical hangar consists at least of 5 robots (hello, hangar decks!) with 2~4 weapons each, you are looking forwards upgrading 15~25 items, which nets in about 1-2 years. By that time new stuff will be introduced, older got re-balanced, and you will crave for some diversity, too. Now to get to Mk2 it would take twice as much. I cannot commit myself into playing daily (you will need A LOT of silver to keep up with upgrades, which is possible only by daily playing) the game for several years. 2) Wasted\waited times. It looks like typical battle is 10 minutes long max, but in reality when you want to have a quick battle it is taking 5~20 seconds to load the game, then 5~30 seconds to match the battle, and then usually 5~15 seconds pre-battle wait (in-battle countdown). Prior to "Orkan\Taran buff" era usual battle was ~8 minutes, pretty often actual 10 minutes. Now most battles are done in ~4 minutes; and you can predict match outcome in 2 minutes really; so waiting two minutes to make a quickie is a bit frustrating, too. 3) Lack of diversity. Now this is one of the biggest issues for me. Long gone the times when different bots were needed to fulfill different roles - Sniper, Brawler, Support, Beacon capper, Main battle bot. Now snipers are gone (do not call 600m range warfare "sniping" please =) ) and every other task can be accomplished by single bot. Almost any of the new bot will do, actually. And same goes for weapons. You can (and will) win 70% of battles using one or two weapons (by now it is Shocktrain and Orkan, maybe Taran too). That makes gameplay a bit boring and repetitive. 4) Removal of Scissor-Rock-Paper mechanics. Plasma used to be good vs Ancile bots, but shields were SO tough you could barely break it with Taran. Splash was good vs shielded brawlers, but you couldn't hit fast-paced bots with it, and Ancile was regenerating too fast to be taken down with Orkans. After Orkan\Taran and kinetic weapons buff it is now really easy to break the shield, be it rocket, plasma or punisher. Use of fast small bots are now stupid move because you can't outrun the rockets, and beacons can be capped by more powerful big guys, who are at the same time fast ones. 5) New weapons (not all, but most part of it). This actually is kind of "lack of diversity part2". Thing is, Medium slot was always more of a close-range combat slot, Heavy slot was mostly medium to long range fighting, and the light slot was kind of supportive to both. Of course, there were exceptions (Molots, Hydra, Gekko, Thunder), but you could see a good player by his bot config. Novice would combine Thunder with Pins on Leo, because "indicated" range was 500 for both; while experienced brawler knew that Thunder goes with Pinata. Now almost every weapon got it's light, medium, heavy counterpart, taking away "combination" part out of the game. You don't need to think here. 6) Mailru (Pixonic?) ignorance. Dashes on TestServer, new UI on TestServer, casino, Mk2 - this stuff never got positive feedback from Pix. However, they ignored feedback and added functionality, which made me feel like community's opinion was asked just to make people feel like they are important. Time and time again Mail.Ru commercial plans were proved to be more important than community voice. Roundtables were a fiasco, and trying to get some ideas to Pix, although met with A LOT of enthusiasm from PR managers, never made an actual result. But all of abovesaid could've been a small nuisance, if not for Pix. It is funny, but being in Pix's insiders group actually made my gameplay experience worse, because I have access to some of the future plans, and it doesn't look fun to me. Kids flowing into the game are craving for easier gameplay (removal of scissor-rock-paper, removal of beacons, removal of different combat roles), free stuff (roulettes, casinos, daily chests and stuff), and more flashy and pew-pew. And the future is dim (for me, and bright for younger players). There would be more skins, more flash, more free stuff, customisations, daily rewards, free rewards, casino rewards, simpler mechanics and gameplay - all of these are coming into the game next year. And my sadness was amplified by Pix's insiders' developer's Q&A held just recently. Yes, they are moving towards more traditional shooter in terms of mechanics and gameplay, just "a bit", to satisfy larger players base. So for me, in the end, War Robots has slowly faded and disappeared in a new, different game, which I have no interest playing in. It is just my opinion, but there are a lot of PvP online shooters, both good and bad, and I am not interested in playing it. However, if you, fellow pilot, looking into colorful, dynamic, good looking, best of its class online PvP mobile shooter - by any means start or continue playing War Robots, there are A LOT more to come, very fun and interesting stuff for you! Thank you and goodbye! P.s. there is a new Griffin design for you: Yeah the game is going to the dogs.I faced a guy in a Silver league TDM with 5 Dashers and an Inquisitor all L12 MK2.He has a %92 win rate ,over 1mill.damage.All w/L12 MK2 Shocktrains. How can a average guy compete.A whale with deep pockets.

Russel, if you're truly leaving, that's just a sad statement on the current state of this game. When I first started playing, just about a year ago, you were THE War Robots guy. We may have had a difference of opinion or two early on, but your objective was always to share whatever you've learned so that other players could get the most enjoyment possible out of the game. What a shame that things have gotten to this point, You'll surely be missed.

It was fun while it lasted, but yes I deleted the game by the end of the 2017 and never had an urge to re-install it back. Also stopped doing videos and wiki stuff. So now I am just hanging out in Discord\Forum from time to time. So I am not leaving, I've already done that, about a month ago. It was fun while it lasted, but as I it was said in some old movie (Human Traffic, I presume? Or was it Trainspotting?) it is time to move on when there's more bad than good in what you are doing. So here's that. And it was fun having you in a clan, too! Shoot some reds for me ;)

I've put up with it because of my clan til now, but with this latest crapdrop, even they can't save it. It's just an aggravation and a chore now,and I've got much more enjoyable things to spend my free time on. I haven't deleted yet because I want to see if the supply drops will be worth logging in for a few times a day, because the games sure aren't.
