I have been on the forum a long time and have a lot of posts and high karma. Yet every single post of mine is quarantined. There are users with far fewer posts than me that do not have their posts quarantined. What gives?

post count for quarantine is set at 100 23 more pearls of wisdom and you shall be FREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That seems like a crazy high threshold. I imagine that they will lose an awful lot of new posters. I have to admit that I have not posted recently because of the hassle of being quarantined. Can't they tell a spammer withing the first 20 or so posts and just ban them? Everyone else can post normally? And it strikes me as ironic that my best path to avoiding the quarantine is to spam the forum with posts.

I made that last post when my post count said 77 and confirmed that my post count was still 77 after making the post. There is certainly something fishy with the post count not updating correctly.

Someone unfamiliar with me might accuse me of just making lots of posts in order to artificially increase my post count, thereby allowing my to bypass the quarantine. However, a person of my noble character would never stoop to such levels. That is akin to tanking in the game, which I would also never do. All my posts are valuable and add to the discussion.

In any case, since my post count is not increasing (still 77) it may not matter how many posts I make. I may be stuck in quarantine limbo forever.
Kinda like how I feel in War Robots being stuck in Expert with no Haechi. Always playing but never advancing.

Please describe the hassle of quarantine. What does the user have to do once one of their posts is in quarantine?

As I understand it, quarantine means you have to wait for a mod to review and approve your posts before anyone else can see them.

I've used it less since all my posts started being quarantined, never said anything that'd justify the need to quarantine me, 100 posts seem really daunting to achieve as I don't want to advise on stuff I don't know about.

Your posts can't get quarantined on mobile. Unless that was fixed.

Are people still ranting about this? I will inform those of why it's good that our posts are being quarantined. First, because I'm seriously beyond sick of seeing dead corpses posted all over the forums in every thread. Second, because I am sick of having to read posts from imbeciles that are challenged in their tiny brains and can't read, write, or comprehend the English language worth a squat but like to argue with it. Lastly, it's not fair to children to have to be subjected to such intolerable depictions of gore, nudity, or violence. These precautions are for everyone's own good and in case you haven't heard...these forums have been absolutely BOMBED in the past month with such material. Just be patient and let the Spam Task Force and the Mods sort your posts out. I'm pretty sure that this little "pause" it takes for them to approve your posts won't cause anyone any bodily harm. Consider the children who come here to get tips and can't come here because they have to see dead corpses in the threads. No one is doing anything wrong if their posts are quarantined. It's just a precaution to prevent the dead corpse posting apocalypse in here.

It's just a precaution to prevent the dead corpse posting apocalypse in here. I agree with the intentions of the quarantine, but I disagree with the implementation. The quarantine would not have affected the initial posts. Those were made by a user who had been here a while. It would have stopped his second attempt where he created a new account and continued to post, but so would a quarantine limit of 10 or 20 posts. The real tragedy is that it took the mods HOURS to ban the accounts. That is unacceptable to me and is the real problem that needs to be fixed. It also took way too long than it should have to delete the posts. If the poster had been immediately banned, of course, they would not have been able to continue to post so many pics and clean-up would have been simpler. Even then it should not have taken as long as it did. So why punish everyone else with a crazy quarantine limit? A smaller limit would have the same effect on spammers (prevent them long enough for the mods to ban them) but not kill participation in the forum. And the "little pause" you mention has been hours in some cases. A forum cannot survive under those conditions. New posters will just leave.

Even the shoutbox...which is why it's gone. Participation isn't being killed here. You are overreacting. The theory that new posters will just leave is entirely not true. Many other games have forums with these types of plug ins installed and no one complains about it on those. You speak of yourself as a victim. The victims here were the children who were forced to see this disgusting mess. THESE were the forum members who won't be returning. Not because of a yellow banner that stays over your post for approximately a few hours. People always think of themselves, but never of the people who were really exploited here...The mods have made countless effort to stop such garbage from reaching the forums and this is the only thing that works. Do you expect Mods not to have a life? These guys have lives too! No one can expect them to sit behind a computer on shifts to make sure that everyone is being tame. Family is more important than these forums and I would expect that these forums have added security so MY children won't be exploited. If you think the participation is lacking on these forums, please by all means provide evidence of this. I'm on here every day and I see new posts to threads throughout the entire forum every time I log in. The real tragedy is the fact that we did not have this plug in BEFORE the disgusting posts started...not because the Mods could not be here 24/7 to approve your posts or ban fools who can't behave.

The real problem initially was the small number of moderators aboe to deal with the problem and the fact they can't be on 24/7. That was corrected by allowing the VSTF to delete such posts. Now there is a much bigger force.
Adding the quarantine also makes it harder to immediately create new accounts after being banned and post gore from them. Now the perp will need to pre-create the accounts and use them for a while, which will put a cap on how much damage he can do before he decides to resurface. Whether the post minimum should be 100 or 20 is a worthy point to debate.
Is not seeing your posts come up immediately really a massive problem? Hopefully it doesn't take hours to remedy very often.

Maybe it could be dropped to 20... Then if 「dookie」head comes back nip it up to 100 temporarily while the posts/offending accounts are dealt with...

Not that anyone asked me, but IMHO 50 seems like a fair number. With the increased number of Mods and SPAM screeners, messages shouldn't stay quarantined very long. Refer to message 51 as a rite of passage. No baptism of fire required.

But as a former mod I see Styro's point as well. A 50 post quarantine seems more fair than 100 with a message to the poster informing them of why new members must go through such a process. It's been a while and I've forgotten, but does this forum make new members confirm their email accounts? Some forums I've been on even make members confirm a phone number in person or by code before they allow them to join. Usually these are more adult oriented forums meant to keep children out but I don't see where it would hurt for any forum or social community.

While I think it's pretty annoying for new people, this guy made Email accounts faster than anyone I have seen. And yes, he did fill the forums. Every new thread on the main page was his filth. He even started posting photos in the Shoutbox. Really sick guy who just had nothing important in his life I guess. I am seriously not exaggerating. It was so bad, he was calling on his entire clan on Facebook to attack the forums with filth. I was one of his targets, along with various members of my clan, and some select Mods. We received more than enough filth from this individual through PMs. I agree that the 100 post count is too much. Everything seems to be under control again since the Plug in took effect. It's pretty bad honestly...when the Mods had to create a special thread to discuss how to counter this person's ignorance.
