Simple solution = use Shocktrain or Ember
you wont have problems with blades anymore

I recommend taking a sniper rifle to the robot war and picking off your competitors as they handle their remote controllers. But you will have to ask the league officials about the legality of that because it may be frowned upon.

As of last season teathered ballistic weapon we're permitted in battle bots... however weapons designed to foul up another bot are prohibited. So you could find some troubles with the judges... also they may consider a harpoon to be a grappling attack. Grappling attacks are prohibited from being over 10 sec in duration.
