So, I'm at 9200 components for an Ember. I figure by the time I finish bringing my 3 Storms to level 8, I'll have my Ember and can start leveling it up over Christmas. By the new year, I'll have an Ember build ready to rock. The question is, what bot to run it at? I've narrowed down my choice to 3 bots in a variety of builds.
Golem/Ember/Taran/Magnum
I'm actually seriously considering this one because of the Golem's speed and the chance to give it a Mk2 treatment one day. The problem with this build is that my Golem is sitting at level 2 right now.
Leo/Ember/Magnums
This would be a nightmare for the reds at 350m, and would have decent health to protect it from rockets. My Leo is at level 7 right now.
Leo/Ember/Aphids
This would be a nice ambush build. Piss off reds with Aphids, and when they close to get me, I burn them with the Ember.
Natasha/Ember/Ancile/Magnum
This was my first idea for the Ember. Basically trick reds into thinking that I'm a Carnage or Ancilot, and when they come at me with typical anti-Ancile tactics, I burn then with fire and plasma. My highest Natasha is at level 7 right now. The others are still at stock level.
Anyway, discuss away!

I think the Natasha is the way to go. You need an Ancile on Brawlers unless you have Dash or Jump or you'll get destroyed by a hail of rockets.

I'm running a Golem MK2 12 with Ember at 8 and Taran and Mag at 9 respectively..
Got to say its surprise package for any approaching reds.when they think its an easy kill since its a Golem, the moment they hit the magic 350m mark.. I'm the GOD OF HELLFIRE!! lol
Here's the thing with Ember it needs to be mobile..Leo and Nat are just slow and you'd be dead even before u could have any real fun with it.. I ran it with Leo and Natasha and Lancelot found a single Ember suits a Golem of all things to a tee.. took down so many Lancelots Rhino and Grffin heck even 1-2 dashers
It's finicky at first to play but once you get the hang of it you'll be just fine..Also I noticed to get any real mileage out of a single Ember the bot you run needs to have high pools of health as it's not in your face wrecker like an Orkan where u unload do a bunch of damage and leave but its rather a constant damage weapon..
Even at 8 I feel its OPness already I can imagine the damage it does at 12..superb beacon holder at Yam (center beacon)..I ran all your permutations mentioned in the poll to me personally I like running it on the MK2 Golem..its mainstay in my hangar..im on D2 Android

I voted for Golem, as well. Could be because Golem is my favorite bot to run right now anyway but it’s extremely effective too. The great part about the Golem is that you can corner shoot with all 3 weapons - including the heavy. Have you tried corner shooting with an Ember?? ?? Its not just corners either. You can stand on the city part of SF and get behind one of those poles. The pole will block the heavy slot (in this case, the Ember) but both your medium and light weapon will be firing on each side of it because they stick out so far. Plus, just look how beautiful she is.,  ![]()  |

I have just started upgrading my Golem. You guys are responsible for this fact! I want a L12 Mk2 Golem badly because you keep talking about it!  Anyway, I think it would be a very good bot: 206.000 HP, 42 km/h speed and it can cornershoot with both sides, which is great! Moreover, this bot is really small and it's easier to avoid incoming missiles. Reds will probably not even fire at you, because a Golem is often underestimated. I did some basic math, and I found that a Ember/Taran/Magnum Golem has the same DPS of a Magnum/Ember Leo, but with much more mobility and cornershooting abilities. AND its paintjobs are 「deteriorated bum-bum」 B) |

Thanks everyone who has responded so far and will respond over the weekend. I don't usually check the forum over the weekend as my real job take over!  So far, there's a lot of compelling arguments for the Golem. I still have several days of upgrading my Storms, so I'll spend that time pondering. |
