I see several threads complaining how OP shocktrain is. So, I think I'll share this video so people can judge whether its really OP or there are other factors involved. Such as, its ally players outclassing opponents team rendering opponents can't reach snipers, etc. I'm using MK2 Shocktrain Haechi maxed everything and I can tell you the situation in the video is very very rare. I didn't even have to use 2nd bot there. Most of battles,Haechi I'm using just gets killed before making 500K damage.

My issue with the shocktrain is that there is no possible counterplay. There isn’t really a way to avoid the damage with good play habits. It does massive instant mid-range damage with barely any exposure. One is alright, but many games you’ll have two or three dashes with shocktrains. There literally isn’t anywhere you can hide.
My secondary gripe is that it chains through physical shields. It is a minor complaint but a blocked shot should be blocked from hitting teammates.

Maybe there should be a warning system or indicator when someone is about to shoot you with shocktrain. Or make the damage a bit slower, like 2 seconds to unload all 5 charges. I have no problem with it chaining through physical shield though, because it still does damage to the physical shield.

Just 2 dashes with shocktrain Mk.IIs will do the job, one on the left and one on the right.. even with the best tactical cover movement you're sitting ducks.

Sorry I can't help but laugh at this, you might as well implement an "indicator" on whoever has "target lock" on you... You know what, its a brilliant marketing idea to implement that as a paid feature. Pay 500 dollar and your bot will get ability to see who has targeted you and about to shoot you.

Shocks also work around stealth.
Is that pesky stealthed stalker giving you fits?
Shoot his friend!

Fire one charge per second, recharge 1 charge every two seconds, and buff the chain damage to 50% again. This would create way more interesting gameplay. The shocktrain pilot would need to spend more effort to get all 5 charges to hit and would be exposed to return fire. Shocktrain targets and chained targets could avoid some of the damage by grabbing cover, facing a shield at the beam, or stealthing.

The thing that makes them op isn't the weapon itself, but the dash bots carrying the shocktrains because they can minimize their exposure time by a large margin compared to putting them on any other bot.. If you use one shocktrain, the result is horrible and I'd much rather use taran. If you use two, then it gets decent, but with the 50% damage reduction the allies take very little damage. With 3, then we start to see good things happening. Most of the time when I see ST haechi, it's usually mk2 and I mean it's mk2...it's going to hurt because it's fully maxed. It took a mk2 taran haechi like 2 seconds to kill my lvl.10 carnage... The way to counter it is to put something in between you and your ally. If I see a shock train haechi to my right and I have an ally to my right, I'm going to move into a wall so that the plasma bounces off him and hits the wall.

Before it was able to do 65% on the second target because it was a 35% damage reduction. I like the idea, but I thought they created shock train with the trebuchet as their inspiration and make it a burst weapon since we already got the scourge. If we make it like the gekko but with chaining, no one would use scourges anymore because why limit yourself to one target when you can do damage to multiple right?

Every teammate is a mirror, if you're in direct line of sight to your teammates, prepare to receive the red ray of shocks. LOL

Thanks for clearing up the damage reduction math—I meant for the reduction in damage to be 35% again. I see your point about the scourge. Granted, there isn’t much reason to run scourges over shocktrains currently either.

From what I feel would balance out the Shocktrain and the tactics used 1) Make it deal damage over time like the Scourge, but with a chain effect and reduced damage per bounce. And if a teammate of the target gets to cover the chain to him breaks but the main discharge is still on the main target. 2) Reduced damage but no reduced chain damage. Right now with 3 Shocktrains you can deal ±46k damage per burst, but if reducing the full charge of one shocktrain to 5k damage, that'll do 15k max burst damage to all chained targets, it's better that way, everyone will have an equal chance to fight them off.

That match was only 5 mins long. For a solid 3 mins you stayed in 1 spot.
You did 1 mil in 5 mins and you were being extra cautious on who you zapped.
You are on FBGR or something with weak 4 slot hangars that are in Champions. Imagine all the meat you could get with a full 10 mins and 5 hangar slots?
This could have easily been a 2 mill game for you... easily...
But when you get into real competition, you will have a few Butch/Fury snipers to deal with.

I'm using lvl.9 and lvl.8 shocktrains I got from event and so far...it's a bit underwhelming for me. It does about 21k per burst and yeah...takes like 7 full charges to kill a griffin which is forever, waiting for max charge and the damage done by the chaining just tickles the other targets. I would actually prefer it if they make the initial first target take less damage but for the chain the damage is similiar so rather than doing 45k to one target with 3 lvl.12 shock trains, do like 15-20k to all targets for the chaining so that not one target takes the full charge but you still do the same amount just it's spread throughout multiple targets.
