Only you can answer if you're willing to spend like that.

I was wondering the same thing about the dash bots and that flamethrower gizmo. Don't think I have ever seen the Ember being used.

That amount of money for a virtual robot?
Depends on your disposable income. Do you save/invest about $1000 in the timeframe as you spend $100 in digital goods, like this offer? If yes, then sure, go for it, live a little.
If not... Consider your life a few years forward. You should probably not use that much on this kind of entertainment.

LOL...I am 68 and retired. I live day-by-day and am grateful to God to wake up every morning. So long term investments aren't a worry. I am more interested in the actual bots/weapons and their capabilities. Don't really need financial advice. And when I was playing World of Tanks, I easily spent more than $100 a month in that game.

Well then, you ask if prices will drop. They probably will. Also there will almost certainly be new even more OP content soon (in months), for the 2nd round of serious blue whaling, which will reduce the relative power (and in a virtual world of just numbers in a computer, relative power is all there is) of anything you buy now. So my totally pulled out of my ?bum-bum? estimate is, you will get 2...6 months worth of real value for the investment, before it becomes "meh" compared to new offerings, or at least available a lot cheaper.

We spend hundreds on good food we poop out, and hundreds on all sorts of hobbies. The logic people use to devalue games in comparison to other world experiences is nonsensical. I get being reasonable to prepare for the future, but it is not unreasonable to buy enjoyments that are not ‘tangible goods’. Where is your vacation now; your music concert now; your delicious dessert now; all those movies now? You paid for enjoyable experiences that are now only a pleasant memory. If you think about it, those things I just mentioned are occasional, yet we spend many hours day playing this game, so why not spend to enjoy new toys? People paint people who spend in a negative way on this forum, but it’s total bs.

When travelling etc, you are paying for unique experiences from "real world", by which I mean, you will meet other people who have had the same experiences, and can talk about them. When you pay for a movie, and if you are not going alone, you are paying for the whole social experience much more than for the movie. Or you are paying for an experience you can't achieve home (big screen, the atmosphere, etc). When you pay for sports, outdoor activities etc, you are actually improving your own health, doing activity which is basically requirement for long and healthy life, and are paying to make it more enjoyable. When you pay for a game which you actually own, you are paying for something which you can play with your kids 10 years later for nostalgia. When you pay for virtual content of a mobile game... it's nothing like any of the above really. Well, I guess if you want to be in a whale clan which requires you to have spent hundreds on Dashes just to gain entry, I guess there could be a social aspect, but I doubt real lasting friendships etc start from these "spend to join" things online. So in general, whatever you spend, it will be gone soon, as if it never existed. Finally, this is my very subjective opinion. I don't claim to be universally right, and I don't want to judge anybody who values things differently. This is just how I value things.

I would say no. The prices may drop, and your disposable income is your own business. I just don't find them very good. I own both and don't usually run them. Cheers.

Oh, and by the way, to answer your question, yes, the Ember and Inquisitor are excellent fun. When I first got it, I was a bit disappointed and as it had low survivability as a brawler, so I put a Thunder Punishers on it to pilot at a distance. This was excellent, and I found the more I used it, that I was closing distance more and more into brawler territory at Taran ranges, so, I put Tarans and even Orkans and explored CQC with greater combat longevity and much enjoyment. When I added an Ember, I was like:

I guess it comes down to control and actual value. If all the a fore mentioned things brings you value and you have the disposable income why not hopefully you will get some real enjoyment out of the purchase.
On a practical level if you are playing the game at least 4 to 5 hours a day the upcoming X-Mas event is giving a Haechi away during the event and an Ember (The flame thrower). If you are not playing the game at least that much in my opinion I would not bother buying any bot for any price your simply not that invested.
All that being said, IMHO, this is Pix's last ditch toss to make money on the Dash bots. They have been OP out of the gate which was on purpose to attract whales which it did and they sold extremely well. They plan to give as I stated a Haechi away which means the dash bots are coming to the tail end of sales. WHICH also means that after the event you can most likely expect a huge nerfing of all the dash bots and the ember to the player test server recommendations. In this manner Pix will bring balance to its game world once again in preparation for the next OP mechs and weapons. (The cycle begins a new.)
Now the Inquisitor - I actually think it's a cool bot but don't think much of it. That being said I think it will sell at this price and we will finally see many more of them.
My point and recommendation is: Sit tight and you'll get all these eventually. Folks are going to be really pissed when they all get nerfed back to normal after spending $100 a piece on them. That's the control piece I talked about, you have none, would be like paying to see your movie of chioce but the cinema decides to show you a different film and refuses your refund.
But it's your call as always. Happy Hunting.

That's irrelevant. What I am talking about is, the value you get for buying virtual goods in games like War Robots will be totally gone soon. It's momentary joy. As such, any person who cares about their own future, should consider how large part of their disposable income they should spend this kind of transient things. For wealthy, cost of Dashes is nothing. Go for it. But for most... it's just not sensible. Spending too much on momentary joy now, at the expense of genearlly happier future ("money can't buy happines, but it sure helps") is just not my idea of fun, even. Then again, I get no joy out of gambling either, the feeling it gives me just doesn't turn any knows in any positive way for me.

Someone will spend $150 on a date that lasts maybe 4 hours, and then it's gone forever. Sure, you have a memory of it, but the experience itself will last you 4 hours and nothing more. A Dash bot, even if nerfed next month, could net some people 30+ hours of enjoyment, depending on how frequently they play. And even after they nerf it, it will certainly still be useable for some time. Just not as overpowered. The logic you're trying to use here is flawed. We all understand where you're coming from as far as expendable income is concerned, but each of our personal income levels is our own business. Instead of answering the OPs question, you're trying to berate the intelligence of anyone that spends more than your acceptable amount on a game. (See your post further up: Phase 1: 「dookie」 all over their values, Phase 2: state that this is just your opinion and you aren't 「dookie」ting on anyone's values) Everyone has different values and different spending thresholds. To answer the OPs question, yes. If you are not unaccustomed to spending excess of $100 per month on mobile games, this is a great deal. You're buying overpowered equipment for what you've already deemed an acceptable amount to spend. The Haechi is the most overpowered of what is on sale, but an Ember Taran Inquisitor is quite nasty as well.

With the release of BoT (arguably by January) many players will shift from War Robots to BoT, in retrospect this will cause a longer waiting time to find a match (assuming you find one after BoT is released.) Since there is uncertainty future regarding where this game is going, spending even $0.99 would be a waste until BoT is released and see whether the game is dying or not. war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/17179/leaving-pixo-good is a perfect example of why you should save your money

with 109€ (and this makes me wondering why in the hell the conversion in $99 btw) you can buy a full-content-collector-edition game for PS4 plus 12 months of PSN Plus... I know we can argue until christmas that makes no difference spending 100 euros for 10 movies at the theater or a couple of nights at the pub but, c'mon this is a SINGLE PIXEL BOT!!! I mean, try heroine instead! It's wiser

To be competetive in War Robots, you'll have to spend north of $500. Say a Mk2 Shocktrain Bulgasari and a Mk2 Orkan Haechi, that will allow you to play with the big boys. If I wanted to do this (I play War Robots for a year on Android) I'd have to spend around $1000 to get bots, weapons and gold for fast upgrades, and play a lot to add some silver. And to answer the question from deputy666, prices may drop a bit further, but I wouldn't expect them to drop a lot, at least not in the next 1-2 months. But again, it will give you the pleasure to pilot a Dash bot (and a pleasure it is), but it won't change anything that you'll get steamrolled by tankers/whales.

Don't think I have ever seen an Ember. Dash bots are there, but nobody on Facebook seems to have the problems with them that they do on the cellphones. At least, that is my impression. When I see one, I just wait for him to use up his dash and walk out in the open, then I blast him with Trebuchet and 2 Gekkos. That seems to get the job done rather quickly.

Or will prices drop. There are not many of them out there Prices for components are unlikely to drop - Wild West bots are still priced in the stupid IP currency and the “special offers” for butch are still $100. We might get more options to get components for free in game, but based on past experience the changes of a heavy discount are low. for ember since undiscounted price is something like $130 you are likely to get similar or better offers for it at some point in the future, For inquisitor the component cost is over $300 so chances of a radical price drop seem quite low. inquistor seems like a decent bot and ember can do some major damage when levelled up. If you don’t mind spending that sort of money on it then in terms of viable enjoyable bot / weapon you will definitely be playing them. if you do want to spend $200 then probably the inquisitor plus haechi is the better choice with ember more nice to have

I don't think prices will drop for some time below this point. People will need to pay this amount to have a meta hanger. When dashes are everywhere and dominate even mid leagues than prices may come down further. the next release mechanism I am tipping is going to be these bots for 14,000 Au. 3 ish months maybe.

I started to eject from a lot of matches, you can judge pretty well from your health loss if you're up against a Mk2 Shocktrain. Also Pixo does nothing against Tankers. There is no LQ for facebook, so this guy was able to drop from Champion to Bronze (he plays a lot so I see him often). I reported abuse, of course no reaction from Pixo except an automated reply.

In my opinion the inquisitor and ember are worth around 5000 gold at best combined. Before you accuse me of being on drugs let me explain that the inquisitor is a very squishy bot. It’s also very situational in many ways. The ember is also a very situational weapon.
The ember is a nice weapon but it’s not hard to beat bots who have it equipped.
I would not advise spending money on either. I see them at upper tier play all the time and they can be a nuisance but nowhere near as bad as shocktrains. If you truly want to be a pay 2 win hero then invest in shocktrains.

If you set the Lancelot as baseline, no weapon should cost more than 2500 gold, and I could see the Inquisitor in the same ballpark as a Lancelot. However, if you set the Butch as baseline, pretty much any price seems reasonable But War Robots has lost any consistency with currencies. While gold and WSP are extremely valuable for new players, they are almost worthless for top tier players. So it was logical to create a new currency. Of course, it wasn't necessary to create a bunch of them, and to make them this hard to obtain by playing...

I don't think haechi is worth $100 and IMO it's the best bot War Robots has ever seen. Inquisitor isn't especially frightening to face. All you have to do is stay behind cover until it's stealth is used. Then pop up with full magazines and attack it. Ember was kinda scary when it damaged you through buildings or whatever. Now that is doesn't it isn't much better than orkans or tarans. If I was going to spend money on anything right now it would be haechi. If I still felt the need to spend more it would be another haechi, until I had at least 3, maybe 4. After that I'd mkii them and their orkans and tarans with real money. Shocktrain would be another good purchase since they are so crazy OP. But I will never play a shocktrain. If you don't mind a zero skill weapon it might work for you.

No robot or weapon is worth $100, but that also depends on how this game really means to you. The real value of a high price, comes not from pay to win but rather from sheer rarity, like when so other few people have it.
Haechi also isn't the wunderkind some people make it out to be. Of course, when facing a whole coordinated herd of them piloted by champion players, that's different, other factors comes into play to create a unbeatable synergy. Swarm bots tend to get stronger in swarms. But isolated and without support and their swarm comrades, they are no different, and are vulnerable like any other bot.
The most expensive items I have ever seen in a game are the $500 gold skinned mechs that were very limited (I think 500 only) that Mechwarrior online sold once.
The rarity of the dash bots, Inquisitor and cash weapons are decreasing daily. The novelty and shock effect of facing something new is wearing off, and the player base is developing the psychological and tactical fortitude to deal with them.
