Talking about UP. If you like Rajin, you cam snipe in the air. Try climbing up the border hill.

Vortex, shocktrain, ember, Dashies. Geez, anybody else starting to feel irrelevant? Feel ya on that. Have played the map once. I think I was the only one without a dash. Seemed like no matter where I spawned, I was swarmed by three.

Dashes don't do too well on this map I find, or at least they don't seem to dominate. My Bulg kept getting shot at from 3 different directions. I seemed to do better with my fast Rogs and Jesse. I could run from cover to cover. Of course, there's NO cover from hydras and spirals...grrr... unless you run into the ship. But there's usually a bunch of reds in there. I got a good bead on a Raijin. He was in the ship, at the centre beacon in bastion mode. I stood above him at the hole in the ceiling/roof/ground, and emptied my orkans straight onto the top of this head. Man...Raijins take a LOT of killing!

I have gotten to play the map two more times. I like it. I think my earlier post was a waa, I was in Griffin's getting hit from 3 different directions-jumped-got hung up and beat like a birthday pinata.

I love it! The angles, the options, the battle to the top of the ship. It's a GREAT fun map.

Update. I've learned a simple rule with the Dreadnought map. Control the top of the ship! I've had several games now, where the blues controlled the top, while the reds went for the beacons. Guys, you get a couple of aphid chuckers up there, and it's almost too brutal to watch. I had one game, where this aphid Patton and my aphid Jesse were up on top. I think we had another non aphid bot watching our backs. The Patton and I just kept soaking up the kills. He killed more than me. One volley from his aphids took out at least half life for any red. Must have had them pretty high level or maxed. Mine are only level 8, and they still did incredible damage. We mech'd out the reds. One guy, just kept respawning. It was sad - but in a cool way. Kudos to him that he didn't give up. Just get spawning, and we kept chucking.

it's a knife fighter's dream. Is it? After months of being stalled, I've increased my top damage twice in 4 days in that map by essentially raining down lightnings with my "Fury of Zeus" from the top of the ship on oblivious reds walking down engaging other blues and not realizing that physical shields are useless at the angle the zap comes down from there. Both times, I started and finished with the Fury and usually I don't get to use more than 3 bots there. I don't always manage to get up there without being killed, but if I do, I know I will end with 700k+ of damage. Win % for the map: 83%.

Not necessarily, it is probably just angle. When the aphids come down vertical, which is the case from the top of the ship, they either hit all or miss all, and with enemies that usually don't see them coming at all, it's usually the latter. Hence the massive damage (at level 10, if I recall, 4 aphids do more than 60k damage).

I've probably only seen it half a dozen times so far. Maybe my opinion will change as I learn it better. I just can't seem to figure it out and I keep getting stuck on horrible teams that make it miserable. On paper, I should love it, but I just don't. On the other hand I really like Valley and have from the first game I played on it.

Still exploring the map, not quite enjoyable yet. Most likely it's because my bots are under-leveled and way too slow.

Yeah, I noticed that my Aphids did more damage when I got up top, probably cause more of my missiles were hitting more. But it's still nothing compared to what a Patton can do in one volley. Makes me tempted to outfit my Gepard with aphids again just so that I can get some of that for myself, but with a faster bot.

I thought to start playing my aphid jessie again for the same reason.. but then I realized that on the other 7 maps I'd be playing with half a bot so... nah. If one really has to try, I'd suggest a Griffin: stil 2 aphids, but more useful on all maps.

Hug the walls except to launch the aphids. Try to buddy up with a blue, and hope that if a red Griffin jumps, he's targetting the other blue and not you!

Try to buddy up with a blue, and hope that if a red Griffin jumps, he's targetting the other blue and not you! I would agree and actually played like that in Diamond. Expert 3 was already pushing it. As I touched expert 2, the quantity of dashes, shocktrains (especially shocktrains) and stuff became too much to make any light, except the Kumiho (and, in specific environments, the stalker, and basically committing to no damage with that) survivable long enough to actually do enough damage to justify their fielding. My experience, at least.

Almost like a form of ethical tanking where you are not going for kills but for wins like with getting an early beacon edge playing soft defense and letting the clock do the work. I am only E3 but I use a scourge/pinata Gareth from time-to-time.

OK...after a few more games my conclusion is surprisingly simple (which was already mentioned here):
> fight for upper deck control

D2 was getting a little tough with my fast bot hangar, and I was starting to feel the itch to put in high damage bots again. I had several awesome intense games yesterday and this morning. Yup, D3 is where I belong.

Yeah, my first impressions are good! The only thing that I noticed is that the floor (inside) seems to be uneven in parts and you seem to be standing sorta sideways. It felt like being in a funhouse at a carnival!

I took a look around it on custom and thought it looked pretty cool. Good amount of cover and knife fighting areas.
However, it needs some work on how smooth it is to move, Butch (already awful for any kind of movement would suffer horribly here). On the plus side, it pretty much negates Dash ability.

My new favorite map for sure! There’s so many great spots with so much cover. I won’t be getting sick of this map anytime soon. I went into it in a custom game first by myself and ran around in there for a while, checking everything out. When I finally caught it on a live server I came out on top of winning team with over 800k .

Sarcasm in or serious? If serious then why? As many of you have mentioned, too many hiding places and not practical for my lancelot/Fury with 3 zeus I also can't snipe well on that map. There's even one spot from where you can Gekko through the ship and to the spawn of the reds. When I discovered this, I was laughing so hard. This map really kicks 「bum-bum」 in every possible respect and it's great to run all kinds of robots there. Like it a lot.

I forgot there was already this thread and made a new one. posting it here as well ... first battle on this map without the weird glitch (that panning / torso rotation suddenly become erratic / unresponsive) as somebody said earlier, pix should better concentrate on maps, rather than weapons talking about defending beacons. a Stalingrad for robots? link to the video (720p)I guess one of the blue teammates has been removing reds on the roof with Zeuses. for CQ supporters like me, it was "stay inside the ship or killed",

I liked it at first on Gameroom. But now it is wearing out. They are using it for every other battle. Too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing.
