Sure, Hover being silver was probably a pipe dream for many of you, but Storm I thought was free. Cash or WSP for medium weapons, I guess. Not to mention Storm firing sounds like a dump. Also, here's the new map. It's crooked as hell, and the background music sounds like it's from one of those Caillou gets grounded videos. Well, Pixonic thought of economy players after all. Well, would any of you pay for them?

Well, would any of you pay for them? If I had more than a grand total of $60 to my name and wasn’t $50,000 in debt? Yeah I might ?

Well $70 (AUD) for a hover bot, $20 (AUD) for a storm seems cheap to me and is way better then $135 for a shocktrain and $300 for a dash bot. expensive price but not an absurd one like shocktrain and the dash bots. But now shocktrains will be thundering down from the sky Better to look forward to the xmas event.

13 bucks isn't bad, I mean it's not a gold or silver weapon but at least it's not what other premium weapons cost.
I'd still want to see one one action before I pulled the trigger, pun intended, though.
Edit: Also the new map is supposed to be crooked, it's a battleship sunk into the sand... Maybe it will make dashing like all other uneven ground fail miserably and we can wreck dashes there!?

If this had been the FIRST stuff they released for Components, yeah, sure, I could see getting a couple Storms. Just for fun, and because at that point Pixonic hadn't turned War Robots into a blatantly cash-grabbing game.
Sure, it's a business. But it's a business selling FUN. Winning is fun. Now, I know that I'm NOT in a minority in that I also enjoy some hard-fought losses where I and/or my team simply hadn't got the skills to bring a win home. That, too, is fun. And yet Pixonic thinks its products are the in-game equipment they're working so hard to make OP enough to encourage whales to buy.
The new gear...that's not real! It's all digital; it's not what they're really selling. They're selling Enjoyment. Which, if they focused on making a game a majority of players could enjoy instead of a small percentage of players with disposable income, they'd see far more players willing to shell out a bit of money for added enjoyment.
Oh, and $50 for a mech that's like a Griffin, except it keeps you exposed in the air for longer and has 15% decreased firepower? While the Griffin itself is already like shooting Trap, and so now we've got one that sits still and makes a nicer target? Yeah. Makes perfect sense.

Had they put these out a few months before the dash etc, then people might have bought them. As it is, they're not really worth getting. The dashes are superior. The previous weapons are superior. Badly thought out overall.

It’s the same general pricing as lance/ fury; Orkan / Zeus. Certainly not as outrageous as some of the more recent stuff but still probably not the best bang for our buck.
Not cheap, but not crazy.

Welp, people asked for them to be more reasonable with their pricing. They delivered. As a F2P player, I don't like it, but it's certainly a more fair approach to how they're doing things for those who'll shell out money. Hopefully they're actually reasonably well-balanced.

Nice marketing strategy: Set an utterly ridiculous price for some new hardware (dash, inquisitor, ember), soften the meat and then throw a slightly less ridiculous price for newer stuff (glider, storm) to make it look "cheap" and fish some new whale calfs.

Im not paying for the Dashes because their pricing is absolutely insane. And I'm not paying for these either because they seem underwhelming, creatively-speaking.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the $$-to-gold conversion rate a year ago? Or even the spring? I'm specifically curious about what 5000 gold cost to get a Lance way back when.

This should have been released before the dash and shocktrain gear though..would have made it competitive...cant help to feel its all abit too late after the dash and shocktrain..
Pricing wise..its not too bad like others have mentioned within the lance/fury region..
Though I won't be spending any RM on it..

I'll answer my own question. From the Wiki: So, if you could have a Lance for $40 at whatever point in time that was recorded on the page. So with that in mind, if a Hover is $48 and a Lance was $40 whenever that was, yes, there's a price creep but I wouldn't say it is completely outlandish. Less reasonable than getting a Lance (for everything it has proven to be), but I doubt the value is imbalanced.

So the hoverbot doesn't have Stealth like the Inquisitor while in the air.

Last time I checked, prices for DIES was still the same. So no, they didn't deliver. Are the new weapons/robots as OP as DIES? If not, why should we spend a lot of dough for inferior stuff instead of just using the free inferior setups that are readily available to us? The Hover might be bought because a Shocktrain Hover looks good. But this will help only the whales and not us normal earthlings.

Less reasonable than getting a Lance (for everything it has proven to be), but I doubt the value is imbalanced. Well, yes. But of course you got free gold, so many players went like "now that I have 3k gold I'll buy the remaining 2k and get a Lance". So the effective price was way under $40 for most of us. Edit: I mean, the whole system was broken because many players stockpiled so much gold. It was necessary to introduce a new currency. But it shouldn't have been 10 new currencies, and $40 for a bot is just not the correct baseline for a robot, especially considering that a player will need to spend at least $10 a month on VIP if he wants to level bots up to 12. So many players spent maybe $20 a month on average, and picked up the gold bots on the way.

I like them because at this point they aren't OP. Keep them exclusive to the people that want to spend money on the game so they can have thier moneys worth. As long as balance is maintained, by all means keep them for the spenders for all I care.
Is hover cool? kinda. Will be cooler when the Bridge level is released.

Well, would any of you pay for them? I gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of the components system and it's devaluing of gold and WSP. However, $12 for a premium medium weapon is pretty close to the straight up cost of Orkans (not on sale, just gold conversion rate). Also, ~$50 for a premium med-heavy bot isn't too bad, because that's about 6k gold right? So if you're short on gold and are planning on getting these items anyway, they are actually pretty cheap compared with the older premium items (like Orkans and Lances). I'm on iOS, so I can't say how OP these items are yet, but I'll definitely be getting 2+ Storm shotguns. I'm tempted to get the Hover bot because of the price, but many wise forum members have pointed out that it will be a target and a sitting duck for many electricity weapons. (Yes, I know that many are not supporting Pixonic because of their unreasonable treatment of players both through OP content and whale pricing. However, if offered new entertaining content at what I consider a reasonable price, I will pay for it.)

They have had plenty of time to "Analyze the data", I could have Analyzed the data within 20 mins of having a lvl 12 heachi in game play to tell you it's extremely OP. I agree the new items are more affordable <clap clap> but the game is still severely broken from thier previous release. and the -5% -10% nerf will do next to nothing to the state they have created.

I'm tempted. Very tempted. $30 for a pair of storms to throw on a Rog? This way, I'll have 1 orkan Rog, 1 taran Rog, and since I scrapped the idea of a scourge Rog, and a shocktrain Rog is nowhere near my future, I might as well go for a storm Rog.
Thinking logically, because the Hover is slower than the Rog, it's probably better to have shocktrains on the Hover anyway, and throw a decent level magnum/pinata/aphid on as a back up weapon. Heck, maybe even a spiral to REALLY cheese someone who's already been stung by the shocktrains. Insult to injury is a good psychological weapon.

I agree, the dash bots and shocktrain are very OP. When I'm in Expert 2, I see them every match and it's not much fun. However, despite them making the game less fun I'm still entertained enough to pay for the new, cheaper content. I like the idea of "vote with your wallet" but in practice I'm not sure that's effective in this scenario. Of course, Whales still pay for $1000, so if I'm offered $13 for content I'll vote Yes to that price.
