So my first time posting on Board I think. But i have been reading. Maybe this post is against the rules. But I just played 11 games and lost all of them. Dash bots and advanced weapons made it just impossible. I used to spend $5–10 a month figuring that was a reasonable “subscription fee” for the company. But I would have to spend a lot more to be competitive. Can’t justify it. I have all level 11/12 bots and equipment, trying to optimize, but hundreds of $ to do any more, and all the new stuff apppears at levl 12within a day and it takes weeks to even get it. So perhaps breaking the forum rules: I love the concept of multiplayer live combat, where skill and experience matters as much as equipment (if there is a decent equipment parity). Like sci-fi theme. Not the case anymore, is there another game I can go to and get the enjoyable experience?

I'd avoid Battle Bay, it isn't much different from War Robots in terms of 'upgrading to be competitive' In fact, because of a small pool [heh] of players online at times, the game fills the empty player slots with AI that are worse than human players. You can guess what happens then..
Maybe you'll wait for BoT like the rest of the community here but I know of a single player sci-fi mech game on mobile: Destroy Gunners As always this is just a man's $0.02

Shadowgun:Deadzone, is my recommendation. Its one of the best third-person shooter games for mobile. It has an interesting Sci FI theme as well and the game requires actual skill and teamwork to win.
Keep in mind though, there is no such thing as tanking or leaving in this game. If you leave, you will get replaced. There are no leagues, just your experience levels. If you love beacon capping, this is the game for you as it has that mode as well. You can spend RM on this game if you want but it's all just for looks, giving you no real advantage except looking cool. The MM is balanced and the gameplay is smooth.
Yep, reading this makes me sound like a fanboy. Crap. I just realized how much of a better game this is.

It definitely showed me that skill is a large part of the battle (kept getting toasted b/c of me running around) I was always stingy about using those 'boosters' and items in battles I might go back to it in the future

The entire mobile market is utter garbage and if EA's shenanigans are any indication the "Triple-A!" market is doing everything possible to follow suit.
