I saw just once before someone shooting upstairs with Orkans, but it never worked for me - I could do it with Tulus but never with Orkans, until today ... today it suddenly seemed super easy: link to the video (720p)by any chance did Pix silently increase Orkan splash range? or did I just accidentally hit a sweet spot where the ceiling was thinner than others?

I'm not sure if it's a bug but I also faced it, maybe they increased the splash radius because sometimes even if I jump I still take full damage.

Maybe there was a bug in the Orkan splash that they fixed, sometimes I've been really surprised to not do splash damage. But that damage through the bridge is something else. I mean the whole load?! Somethings are just on the line and work out but he caught everything. Weird.
Poor dude though - he's probably posting a vid somewhere about a bug how he just sudden got vaped without taking fire... lol

It works from above. The darker area is mesh or something. You can strip anciles below you and do damage from above. Also, awesome doc footage.

Wait, is this on the Moon? At the centre Beacon? Can you hit from under the bridge now? I always thought it was just with tulus.

I also thought it may depend on where I hit. the metal part may be thicker than the black ... material. but hitting from above is totally new to me... Ancile I can understand but the damage to the bot? never tried

I'm not sure if it's a bug but I also faced it, maybe they increased the splash radius because sometimes even if I jump I still take full damage. I just realized that in the OP video, my Doc was killed by Orkan splash. there was not really a line of sight, I was trying to hide further, and killed. I thought it must have been Tulus ... hmm

I measured (think with 3.3) Pinata and Orkan splash at about 15m, all others are about 25m. I can hit up through the floor with 15m but not reliably. Have to be practically underneath the red just before lock drops. Haven’t seen hitting down unless it’s a jumping bot that’s up. Maybe a 25m splash at a tall bot like Leo can hit down.

I don't think it's 15m, that would mean you'd get hit at 307.5m, assuming you are referring to diameter and not radius. This is clearly not the case. I'd say the splash radius of Orkans is between 2 and 5 meters. Easy to find out in a custom match if someone can get a buddy and wants to spend the time to test it out.

Yes, I tested this in a custom match (I have 2 accounts) and firing at a still target on the flat ground of Shenzhen from about 315m away caused damage. I say 'about' because the target bot often sees a different distance to the shooter, usually just 1m but I've seen a 2m discrepancy before.

Hmm, it just occured to me I didn't factor in bot size. Distance is measured from bot centers and bot bounding boxes are 6-9m across. So maybe half that should be subtracted. But then I think the projectile start is measured from the mouth of the weapon so add that in. I'm not sure, it's difficult to measure things accurately <= 2m resolution.

I can confirm that the splash radius got increased and not the range, I can hit people behind the central covers in Yam with Orkans just like how I do with Tulus!

I believe Pix increased the range on the Orkans because they are underwhelming on the Haechi.

Yes, in the past week for sure as there were a few Galahad threads. I know I kited and dodged 300m rockets. I remember looking at the distance number very clearly. Your win %. I seem to be on beatdown mode, and get stuck with dumb teammates.

There's a big difference with going slightly left, and left. Today, I just kited a Lancelot around a round corner on Green Vally. I was in my Galahad with shield up. Ok, pilot had really bad aim, but I had a sliver of health left and didn't die. You need to tighten your tolerance, and perform that maneuver better. That's the difference between killing an Expert, and getting killed by Champion. Actually all moves, so it's skill. I know a lot of people complain it's no skill at the top, but it's all skill I find.

I know a lot of people complain it's no skill at the top, but it's all skill I find. I knew there was at least one red with Thunders and that was whom I wanted to hide from and also attack. if the opponent has only Thunders I wouldn’t have been killed while doing some dmg or at least peeling off the Ancile at that situation. the other reds had Orkans, which I really didn’t pay much attention at that point, bcs I stayed on this Orkan Doc (first bot) for ~2:50, killed three bots and damaged more, and kept a few beacons already. so it was about time to change to the next. anyways there won’t be not much to do with a damaged Doc against multiple advancing reds. I was simply surprised later when I found that what killed me was Orkans, since at that time I felt it was Tulus. anyways you are right that if I were all in determined to hide, I should have turn more sharply. ... and my win% was 74%, I guess I had one more win after you checked ... but those were all luck I guess. I may fall to fourty something tonight if I teammed up with the red I met recently ...

I was on that platform on moon with my plasma griff killing any red that came over the wall and stopping the reds taking that beacon from below, I had about 1/4 health left and the reds had been a bit quiet milling around the entrance to the tunnel. I found out what they were doing, they bought up a noricom patton under me and wiped me out from below! 「illegitimate child」s!

Here’s a video showing the outer edge of splash radius for Orkan Pinata Tulumbas Pin. When out of range the rockets don’t angle in to bot center so the shooter is turning and splaying rockets at various angles to get a hit. Had to move in a meter to register most of the weapons in this test. Possibly in my previous test the target was a Lancelot so it could be hit a bit farther away, I don’t remember. I’ll need to repeat this test with a small bot to see if the range changes.

okay, either Orkan splash radius increased or the Moon center beacon ceiling/floor had become thinner. now I can do this reliably. it doesn't matter which part of the ceiling as long as I can target the red upstairs: by the way, this was a battle I was randomly teamed up with ѻﻭɼﻉ it was an easy win,

Do you have any idea what the bot up there was? I tried this recently with a DB Griffin and had to be much more directly under the bot to inflict damage. Don’t know what I was shooting at. Maybe some bots have lower bounding boxes and are easier to hit. Will have to test this out.

I think he/she tried to avoid me up there. and the player might have left the battle altogether after this, looking at the low damage at the battle result.
