I thought World of Tanks was bad for having people too afraid to engage in combat. War Robots has them beat by miles. So many people with rocket bots that just sit at the spawn making noise and killing nothing. And when they die (because they have NO close-in weapons to defend themselves on board), they are replaced by MORE rocket bots. Rocket bots are the World of Tanks artillery of War Robots. Sit at the back, make lots of noise, and contribute very little to the battle. It's bad when you have one on a team. It's a catastrophe when you have two or more. I can see having a rocket launcher on a bot that has other weapons. But not the WHOLE bot armed with ONLY rockets. Doing this is a major handicap to the team, because it only allows one-dimensional combat. And rather ineffective combat at that. Having 2-3 rocket bots on a team means you are down HALF the actual combatants of the team. Note...I am ONLY talking about indirect fire rocket launchers. NOT direct fire launchers. Second on the gripe list are sniper bots. Now before everyone goes nuts...I own a couple of them. One armed with two Kang Daes, and the other armed with one Trebuchet. They can do remarkable amounts of damage from far away. But again....if the team needs assistance at close-in combat, you should ALSO be able to contribute to that. Don't throw a bunch of rocket launchers on a bot with sniper guns (unless they are direct-fire launchers). Indirect fire launchers are useless at close-in fighting, and they also won't allow you to defend yourself if enemy bots get close to you. USE YOUR BRAIN. Mount heavy canon like the Molot or Molot T2. Give those tanks that decide to rush you an unpleasant surprise.  I swear the majority of games I lose are because one or more players sit at spawn firing indirect/useless-fire launchers. When I am on a team without those devices, we quickly roll up the enemy and the game is won in a matter of a couple of minutes. The difference is quite amazing. Even if the team has mainly low tier or weak bots, we still manage a win. There is one more gripe I have with the players. But on the World of Tanks forum, it is a forbidden subject that gets you banned. And it is probably politically incorrect to say it on this forum too. So I will hold off on saying it.  |

Well, Noricum Patton can actually be deadly, and so can Nori Gepard I suppose. But only if they keep moving constantly to match the movement of their target, or to be on the side of target so they can lead left or right.
So yeah, not disagreeing with you at all, just saying that artillery can be deadly in this game, in skilled hands. Of course pilots who are both skilled AND want to use these weapons are pretty rare...

Nope my only frustrating gameplay is losing 2 or 3 match and next match is disconnected.
Anyway artillery bot is just fairly decent deadly compare to sniper bot. But what annoying about those sitting bot are too stingy to Change or dump the sniper when when the situation is getting bad, like the enemy is at close or need a beacon control. But nooooo they're just sitting there and waiting winning result or gaining exp and money for him while we getting rekt in the field....ok now that frustating a bit.

Seems like there is always 1 or 2 zenith Noricum chuckers on FBGR in randoms. They sit in the back and usually come in last or second to last in damage, while their knife fighters get ground up cause they are out numbered. That or they are content to be 4 capped out cause they cant hold beacons hiding at their spawn.

deputy666 I don’t know what league you are in, but it is quite common amongst beginner players to acquire long range indirect fire Zenits and Noricums, and experiment with them. When advancing a bit higher in the leagues, those setups will pretty much disappear. Then a bit further along the road they will start to reappear, but in much lesser numbers, and they are more often run by people, who mostly know what they are doing. Disclaimer: I just noticed you play in Facebook. I don’t know how things are there, but at least that’s how it goes in iOS.

This morning in Valley Dom, by the end of the match our team was down to just me and a fader. The reds have 2 ZenitNori Natashas sapping our heavies' health and managed to focus their fire on my slow Griffin. ;-;

Just for "funsies" I gave a bot all Spirals. Naturally, an enemy bot got close and hammered me while I was waiting for my missile reload. I realized if I had a close range canon, I could have blasted him easily. Making a bot "specialized" MAY work if you only play in a clan where you can call for help on Team Speak or trust your fellow players. In pub matches...forgetaboutit. It's suicide. I always keep at least one location for close-in weapons. I have seen way too many specialized missile bots get blown away because a Griffin suddenly jumped in range and blasted them and they couldn't fight back. I NEVER want to be in the position. |

One Magnum or something will not save your 「bum-bum」 against a knifer (even if it is a Stalker or Ag medium). It will just reduce your long range firepower. And that little bit of damage you do with something like 1 Magnum is also meaningless, you'd better spend that time in another bot already, shooting with full PDB or whatever. |

You couldn't be more wrong. the reason you died was because you were using spirals, likely on a patton, which was another poor choice. If you use frankenbots, this will happen to you over and over. And 1 close range weapon isn't going to do a thing on a bot like that. |

The trick the running specialized bots is to just do the job you are good at, and leave the rest to your teammates.
If you see a knifer moving specifically towards you, it's probably time to boot. Indirect fire/sniper builds cannot hold a position for poop.
If you want to stop a red advancement head-on, just use a knifer.

Here's the thing....most of you guys are on platforms OTHER THAN Facebook. It's a whole different style of game play there. I know, because I moved from Android to Facebook. Like a completely different game. Abarus39 probably knows what I am talking about. A lot of what works great on cellphones doesn't work for snot on Facebook.
I don't mind experimenting with different setups. I mean it's only a frigging game, so who cares? When I get stuck on a team with 3 "campers" that sit at the spawn point and fling indirect fire rockets, I pretty much know it's a loss. Most of them are clueless about how to lead a moving target. They aim directly at a moving target and all the rockets explode behind him. You would think after a while they would figure it out...but nope. Every game same thing.

I generally expect them to out perform GR only players. You would have to play on Facebook to know what I mean. It's not so much the bots, it's the game play. I often feel like I am still playing World of Tanks with the way many guys play. No strategy. No thinking out what their bots should be doing or are capable of. Just a lot of yoloing. Meaning when the timer counts down to zero, they just hit the W key and charge forward with guns blazing until they die. Then repeat over and over until they run out of bots. Understand...I am playing in Bronze-Silver levels. Us poor folk that don't have Mommy and Daddy paying our way or won the lottery, play with what we can buy with earnings and/or a tight budget. |

Zenits and noris are the new kill stealers. Not from what i am seeing. Most Expert league players that I see that have 3 to 4 range rigs in and dont help with beacon control usually have 1.5 to 2.5 kill stats. 350k to 500K ave damage and usally 30% to 45% win stats. If you have a 50 slot hangar and your not averaging close to 5.0 kill stats your just swapping your bot for one red bot at best. Most range players I see like this usually inflict minimal damage ( lower 3 pilots in the squad stats) have low kill stats compared to brawlers and have less way lower than 50% win stats because they drop range so much and assume beacons are someone elses job. |
