I recent bought a Lancelot as they are still pretty viable on FBGR and getting a dash bot is no where on my horizon. I received an ancile in the event and had two tarans on a PDB Griffin I threw on it.
Lance:8 Ancile:8 Tarans:9/9
I have a clan mate who runs his Trancilot in squads and he does really well with it, but his is mostly 11/12 with one MK2 lvl 12 Taran. Im still getting the hang of the Lance as ive only played a couple dozen games with it as I wasn't gonna play it til I got it somewhat leveled up. Its slow but I love the survivability of it. I will be on my third bot and my squad mate will still be banging away with his Trancilot.
I want to throw my upgrading efforts at this bot, so what should I concentrate on? I am assuming the Tarans, and if that's so should I get one to 12 and then work on the other or upgrade them both one level at a time and then turn to the ancile and the bot itself? Should I bother trying to get the Tarans to MK2 status or work on other stuff once they get to level 12? Most people say weapons before bot, so if weapons first, ancile or bot after weapons?
Tarans are becoming my favorite weapon, apart from Trancilot I have a PDB Rhino and have the WSP to outfit another PDB Griffin but don't want to start leveling another pair of weapons from level 1 right now.

I would get your Lance up to Level 9 to maximize speed then work on ancil and weapons. Remember to corner shoot instead of standing in the open and take care not to waste your shield needlessly. Lastly practice staying out of orkan range and work on paying attention to the battle field. IE knowing what your opposition and allies are running. Good luck!

Weapons before bots. You can lump ancile with weapons as well. I think working on a tarancilot is a good investment as more kbots/ancilebots and shocktrains show up. They did very well in the recent test server along with rhinos and raijins. And that was litterally chockfull of bots with shocktrains.

Stay away from Bulgasaris armed with orkans! I just added another couple of Tarancilot notches on my Bulg's belt.

This used to be true but is no longer correct, especially in the case of the Lance where each upgrade gives you 2 benefits, the HP/speed increase and the stronger physical shield. I run a Punisher Ancilot on FB GR, am upgrading it equally (currently at 9/9) and will continue to do so. In a FB GR environment, extra durability is much more useful than on Android/iOS because you're often up against a bunch of low-level bots on FB. (Note: Punishers because I have a Taran Haechi, and want at least one punisher build in my hangar. But Taran Ancilot is of course an excellent setup.)

Tarans are becoming my favorite weapon, apart from Trancilot I have a PDB Rhino and have the WSP to outfit another PDB Griffin but don't want to start leveling another pair of weapons from level 1 right now. Tarans are great, but don't use it too extensively or you'll have a hard time against all those shielded bots. Always build a well rounded hangar with all weapon types. I usually run at least 2 energy setups, 1 Orkan, 1 bullet based. Also keep in mind that you may want to integrate a Zeus build (which is also energy) at some time, which is by far my favorite midrange weapon. On FB Gameroom I use 2x Energy (Taran Haechi and Scourge Bulgasari), 2x Orkan (Kumiho and Doc) and 1x bullets (Punisher Ancilot), but I may switch from Orkan Kumiho to Tempest Natasha soon once she is levelled. On Android I ran up to 3 Orkan builds (Thorkalot and 2x DB Griffin), but have recently gone back to 2x Orkan (Thorkalot and 1 DB Griffin), 2x Energy (Tarancilot and Zeus Natty) and 1x bullets (Punisher Galahad, soon to be replaced with Punisher/Orkan Doc once that one is levelled). I'd suggest PDB Griffin over PDB Rhino and would put Orkans on the Rhino. As the Rhino shield is crucial, it's better to use a weapon that can fire its full load in a very short time.

[Weapons before bots] This used to be true but is no longer correct, I think he means upgrade the weapons first and then the bot in a continuous cycle. OK. "Weapons before bots" was a standard slogan until maybe 9 months ago, where many players ran setups like 6/12 to fool the old matchmaking. If you upgrade somewhat balanced it doesn't matter much if you go weapons or bots first, IMO. I always choose the upgrade that gives me the most convenient ending time, where I have the ability to log in and start a new one.

I would add that with Ancilot, getting the bot itself up to 9 is very important for improved speed, improved rush which is a function of base speed, increased health, and increased front shield health. So each upgrade to the base bot until level 9 (when speed maxes out) improves all four of these attributes.

I currently have 9/9 Thunder Carnage, 7/8 DB Griffin, 8/9 Trancilot, 7/9 PDB Rhino and have a Thunder/Pinata Leo in 5th slot (which rarely gets used). I am saving gold for 2nd Orkan build to get rid of the Leo. After that may save to outfit something with a Zues, if I were to get a pair would prolly set em on the Carnage. I like the DB Griffin's ability to jump up out of cover and unload Orkans but the Griffin seems so squishy after playing my Rhino. I know a lot of people aren't high on the rhino but that shield and that dash ability come in handy. Hate jumping on Griffin to get the thing moving only to have a Naty with trebuchets knock 1/3 of your health off 30 seconds into a match.... Tempted to buy a 2nd Rhino to have a DB and PDB set up.
Yeah similar to your advise I am aiming for two Plasma builds, two orkan builds and Thunder Carnage for 5th slot and after orkans maybe save for Zeus Carnage

If your Tarans are already 9 then your focus should be on the bot and the ancile. The Ancilots strength is in being a tank. Upgrade it, as such first. Get the bot to 9 for mobility and then bump the ancile to 10. I currently run a 10/10 Tarancilot in GR with a 12 ancile.

Lance is a beast. Get to using it. Level 9 is where it hits max speed. Ancile and shield and how you use it are more important than tarans. Beware the dark plains of Yamantau.

That ancile does very little till lvl 10. Then get those weps as high as you can.

Lance w/ Ancile isn't a bad combo. I run one but with Orkans instead of Tarans. More comfortable w/ Orkans and they're easier to corner shoot with.

All of it. Bot first, then ancile, then weapons. Rinse and repeat.

Let's dissect just the question of whether to take one taran up more than one level and then the second taran. No. Each level adds roughly 10%. So you do get a slight boost in overall damage by taking one weapon up two levels instead of two weapons up one level (1%). But the cost in silver and time for getting one weapon up two levels instead of two weapons up one level is far more than 1%. For tarans, the cost difference for lv12 is about 50% higher than lv11. Take your tarans up each one level at a time.
I would get almost everything you plan to run long term to lv12 before starting Mk2. That's because for the silver cost of getting one taran from lv12 to max Mk2 is about the same as getting two orkans from 11 to 12, and orkans are gold weapons. The time for the taran is significantly longer than the time for both orkans too.
Finally, as I told a tanker in another thread, once you convert an item to Mk2, you should take it all the way to lv12 before converting another.

Upgrade your Lance to level 9 first to max your speed, then upgrade your Tarans a level or two, as well as your Ancile. Get everything to 12 first before MK2ing anything. It's up to you what your first choice is. Remember to cornershoot and use the Rush ability as a means to escape.

I've never had a problem handling ancilots on that field. Once they go to the center beacon it is a death trap. If there is no sniper I will get 700 to 1 million on that every time killing lances and rhinos as they try to take the center beacon. Lances are too big and too slow to defend themselves against a punisher Griff or lance running punT and Tempest let alone a carnage or Fury running tempests on that field. At least a rhino can charge for more than a short distance..

I agree you could dominate with ancilots if it is just people running rdb's and trebs or gekkos or whatever. 3/5ths of my hangar is kinetic builds built for 400-700m.

Maybe if you are advantaged by working as a team on line or similar app and your opponents are not, but I have never had a problem killing ancilots on that field. It's actually easier when they use their normal tactics of bunching b/c you lose nothing to spread. 18k damage/sec from a mid level tempest punT lance that goes to 36k/sec when it is hitting armor. Two of them on the field and your 3 anciles and your armor will be melted by the time you get in range and once you are at 350 they will be back up doing 18k / sec * 2 on armor. Nothing easy about being a big slow whale on an open field with shorter range weapons than your opponent.
