For the most part I am interested to see how well this MM system works once the dust starts to settle a bit more. I think people tend to be a bit sensationalist and emotional. We knew that the new system would take a while to place everyone and start functioning properly, and still within hours after it was released the war robots FB page was already being hit with hysterical dooms-sayer meltdowns. "OMG THIS SYSTEM IS SO BAD War Robots WILL DIE AND SHUT DOWN IF YOU DON'T FIX" types of things.
I don't think this MM will be perfect but I am interested to see if it is better than the old one. I also think Pix could have done a better job of implementing the system. Maybe just ripping the band-aid off is the way to go but I think a more gradual approach would have been less frustrating for users. possibly if they gradually shifted the emphasis from hanger score to Elo people might not be so upset. Something like 90% hanger 10% Elo --> 80% hanger 20% Elo ---> etc ...
I play on Android so it is easy for me to talk. I haven't had to deal with the new MM so maybe the system is far more brutal than I realize. I very well could be an insensitive jerk that just doesn't get it but I can see that some of the outrage has already started to die down. I'm looking forward to reading Dredd77's reports and assessments of the new MM as they roll out.

The thing I don't understand is how the current match maker could be so far off the mark. I would have expected the system to take a look at where people are at current, assign them a tier and THEN scale up/down accordingly.
What I don't understand is how certain players can be scaled so high and others so low. There's obviously a mathematical algorithm here with numbers set way too high at the moment.

Read the thread I started on the Matchmaker, it'll make more sense. And once it earablishes the Elos of all the active players logging in it'll get much much better. It's already settling from the top down.
