One quick point... if you are in a fast bot, like my beloved Gareth, and you can go and take their side beacon on a map like SF or Yam... even if you can't hold it it will cause someone to take attention off of the main fight and come take it or hunt you down... that opens the door for a better push from the center peeps, or me killing whatever they send, or giving them a merry chase, further tying them up. I don't feel in any way that this isn't a good thing. Sometimes its better to do that in a fast bot, eject, then charge into the now depleted front line. Especially if everyone is down a mech or two. I'm not saying that everyone should do it... but I am saying it is a valid, useful, and beneficial tactic.

This scenario has happened to all of us I think. One game it was down to me and one red; I was in a busted up something lumbering up the ramp to RED territory. I get there, kill the last RED, turn the beacon to our favor, then I embarrass myself by spraying celebratory shots. Time runs out. LOSE. Missed the win by 3 seconds.
