So, Not reading the fine print I decided to level 2 of my bots and 3 of my Orkans to MKII. I assumed it would be a gradual climb up from its existing health/damage but NOOOOOOO.. it actually cuts it in half till you reach level 9 mkii and then its back to what it was a regular level 12! A maxed Haechi is 150k. spend 500 gold to mkii and now its 91.5 k health. I had to push it up to level 9 MKii just to get it back to the same level it was before MKII.
This is complete BS and Pixonic is not very transparent in letting people know this before hand. Upgrader Beware!

Yup. One of Pixonic's many money making schemes. Max out your robots till 12 and be forced to spent losts of silver and $$$ or gold to speed up to the bots/ weapon's normal performance.

It would make sense if you didnt lose any damage/health in the process but to essentially nerf your item until you push it to level 9 MKII is just stupid.

I think the time to get back up is actually the major thing here. Apart from time the cost of getting back up is actually less than 15-20mn - so effectively you get to do level 13 and 14 for the same price as 11 and 12 after making that investment. Based on the exponential rise in silver costs each level for upgrades actually saving the silver required is probably easier than if they just added levels 13 and 14 on top with the same jump in cost. I think the whole MK II thing is a disaster though and entirely unnecessary - they seemed to indicate that it was to keep players interested after hitting level 12, but really reaching level 12 was the only way to guarantee a level playing field. Now the big spenders, who it was possible to go toe to toe with yesterday, have all got instantly a 20% advantage over low / no spend champions for the next 3-6 months and will be wiping the floor with the unlucky 9-10 levelled diamond \ low expert guys who get dropped in with them even faster than before. i cannot see anyone really enjoying this - small number of big spenders just do it because they can, everyone else will be forced to just come along to keep competitive

This Mk2 is just a differentiation between big spenders and really big spenders. They basically segmented the top paying market and provided an extra incentive to spend more money. The non linear upgrade path in terms of strength is the mechanism that forces many to pull out the cash to short track the upgrades. And if sufficient people do this than they just introduce MK3 and MK4 and so on. There is no concern for fair play by Pixonic. one example after another clearly demonstrated that recently.
For me the biggest issue is that this grab for cash mechanism provides an even more unlevelled playing field. It is really all about seal clubbing now. The more you pay the bigger the club they hand you. And since they can bring out these changes one after the other their limit is only going to be at a point where people wont put any more money into this so called game or when people stop playing.
I challenge anybody to explain how this thing is a “game” when a MK2 taran of a super whale has a 40% advantage over the L10 taran of a diamond/expert player. Gets worse when you compare for instance a 9/10 taran rog with a maxed MK2 taran rog as an example. Fire power – 60K additional cycle damage. Bot health – 133K HP to 180K HP. that's like a level 1/1 taran rog going up against a L 9/9 taran rog. And when you consider the same scenario for an OP bot like the Haechi the differentiation becomes even greater. and even greater when comparing that haechi to just about any other bot that it enjoys its advantage over.
I would also ask the people who max out their 5 haechi hangers to MK 2. Whats the point of playing? Is it fun playing? And if so, why?

They want to squeeze the last piece of silver and Au so you'll buy premium or Au to rush your upgrades of the important items because once you hit mk2 level 1, you can't compete to face the reds that have better mk1 equipment unless you pay more than you should.

I swapped out the weapon I'm upgrading to MKII until it's useful again.

I am the first to call out Pix and their shoddy practises but the "reincarnation" mechanic is definately not new. You give up all progress and trade it for potential. Add in the fact that the silver cost to go 11-12 is still less than you would expect for Levels 13-14 and the fact the information on how it works is easily available.....
I think this one is user error.
Deadset against Mk2 by the way. But I don't see anything unfair about the progess vs potential trade off.

Let's face it, Pixonic has so royally screwed the pooch that now they could apologize for everything and people would say "how dare you!". The only reason I'm sad to see that happen is because War Robots was once an excellent game. Much as I'd like to see the game devs pay for what they've done, I'd rather have my old favorite game back.

Here is a great example of what not to do: this guy has trashed his hangar and got no benefit. i would say weapons first, one at a time and take out of rotation until back to level 10. It will be a pain for the next 6 months or so and will eat up all gold and silver for most of that time I too I guess

Upgrading weapons only to Mk2, 1 at a time and taken out of rotation. Although I'm levelling my Scourges first and love them too much so will probably just keep using them. lol.

There's plenty of info out there on MK2. I think it was an unnecessary addition, but nobody asked me. That said, with easy access to MK2 info, I have little sympathy for someone who jumped in without reading.
The short version is that each MK2 lvl is a 20% buff over the corresponding regular (MK1?) lvl. So yes, you have to get to MK2 lvl 10 before you'll see numbers nearby above MK1 lvl 12.
Each item you want to push to MK2 must be maxed already and will cost 500 au to access MK2. Upgrades cost the same ag the 2nd time through.
Final cost is double the silver and time for a 20% increase in dmg or hp. MK2 IS EXPENSIVE.
As another said, I'm doing a few items one at a time, taking it out of service til it's done. Orkan 1st ;-)
