There is a Japanimated(cartoon, not 3D/CGI) movie. Cliché plot, renegade good-guy has to be good despite laziness. Aesthetically looks like Venus Wars, Vampire Hunter D, Princess Mononoke, etc(But released 2010+).
Story revolves around guys who hop in mech suits(3m tall-ish), and use magic to fight demons. The magic is shown as a 2D glyph hologram that forms in front of the pilot, as a "channelled" effect, for certain weapon buffs/abilities. People turn into demons after they use too much magic. Pilots are called something specific; Techs, Technicians, Clerics, something formal.
Think Full Metal, but more adult-oriented.
