So I just gotta say this because its happening rather frequently lately and it JUST happened again.
So its usually only me and sometimes another guy..but usually just me, running my little Gepard while ALL the rest of you have heavy bots. Tie score and we need another beacon to ace this thing. So I run clear across the battlefield to get that beacon which is straight in to enemy territory and I make it allll the way over there without so much as one shot taken at me. I turn the beacon white and the enemy wakes up. Who comes after me on the left of my cover? OMG...Its a Raijin and another big a** bot on my right and ALL of you on the other side with only a trickle of shots being fired...
WHY CANT SOMEONE COVER ME? WHY ISNT ANYONE WATCHING WHAT THE LITTLE GIY IS DOING?? You KNOW I dont have the firepower to protect myself. Thats what YOU guys are for. You gotta protect me for Christs sake! Im getting the beacon for US. The least that WE can do is help each other. Geez.
Its frustrating as *firetruck!* You see me run by you. Where do you think Im going? Not out for ice cream, thats for sure! Think guys and work TOGETHER for *firetrucks* sake! Geez!!!!

I feel your pain. I added a light bot back to my lineup because I get super frustrated mid match when nobody is turning beacons and it drives me nuts, but like you, nobody covers me. May as well being playing with AI bots at times!!!

I know, right? I mean Im new to this game but I know what teamwork is and sure, its beneficial for me to cap beacons but overall, its FOR THE TEAM. Its a great feeling to run out there and expose your (extremely vulnerable)self and have a heavy (or two)slamming the crap out of the reds closing in on you while you cap then haul 「bum-bum」 outta there. Its like Neener Neener Neener to the enemy and THAT TOTALLY ROCKS!
Come on Big Guys...take care of the little ones and LETS DO THIS!!?

Oh...I think Im catching on. Everyone has heavy bots because of the damage points they score so they can get gold. As opposed to my light bot running around, not shooting unless cornered, trying to cap beacons. At the end of the game, my score isnt anywhere near the others, who inflicted all that damage.
Hmm...not very fair way to keep score...

Hmm...not very fair way to keep score... The War Robots conflict to end all conflicts. Is it Blue vs Red? Clan vs Clan? DB vs RDB? TriFury vs Hydradouche? No. It affects us all... To win, we must take (and hold) beacons. To get rewards, we must only get damage. |

This^ EXACTLY sums up why i dont run light bots solo anymore. I am not gonna be your Beacon runner if your not smart enough to protect me in that slow ?bum-bum? camper rig.. Not only do they not protect you while you're on your way to capping the beacons (that are required to actually win games), they would t lift their fat lazy back sides away from the campground to even try to hold them after you've capped them. I still have the Rog and Rhino for capping when the opportunity arises, but I took the Gareth out of the regular lineup as a dedicated beacon runner and replaced it with the RDB Griff, because 9 times out of 10 it was just a wasted hangar slot. It would either get killed going for that strategic CB, or reds would come trotting right behind me unfettered turning the beacons I just capped. If I'm not gonna get anything for capping beacons in losing efforts because there's no beacon support, I'm pretty much forced to play the damage game and get at least some sense of satisfaction. Ironically my win/loss pct hasn't changed at all. |

The least the [firetruck]ing campers could do is shoot at the reds that are coming after you. If you're sniping (I'm sorry. If you're a long-range shooter), at least help out your teammates that are out capping beacons. Some do, but there are those that are shooting cross country, at somebody that isn't even a threat, when it would be far more beneficial if they kept their eyes on what's happening around the beacons.

Um, you DO know that if you decide to make a run for a beacon in a fast bot, you're on your own right? Because no one else can keep up with you! Personally, I've only been successful at stealing a far beacon maybe 1/5 times. But it does feel so good when you do.
Take this one game I had. I was in SF and in a rare moment decide to go with my Rog first out of the gate. I usually reserve it for last. Blue team spawned by the farm side. I grab the far beacon, turn around and see that I'm ALL alone. Seems the rest of blue team decided to go up the ramp and try to blitz the far left beacon or the centre beacon. So, what do I do? I'm completely vulnerable, and a Rog out in the open is basically a pidgeon waiting to get shot. So, I run deep, deep out into the field - like all the way to the wall and hope that no one shoots at me. I got lucky and made it all the way to the far beacon by the red base. Turned it, and then got immediately wasted. It took 2 more bots after that, defending that beacon all by myself from reds coming from the centre beacon and home base, before blues finally started to spawn at my beacon and we turned the beacon steal into a spawn raid.
Doesn't happen often, and my heart would not stop pounding that whole lonely run, and I kept expecting a big red to suddenly spawn at that beacon. But man, it's SO worth it when it works out!

I ran into this guy a while ago in dead city. I was trying out a hangar full of BM stuff that I won to break my routine up a little.  I was using an unlevelled fujin and chanced upon a fresh rhino. Needless to say, I was prepared to take it like a man. Then this guys showed up in a dual ancilot carnage!  He was going around staying near the reds waiting helping our team mates out. Paired up with him again in a haechi but by the time I got my ancilot out, the game ended. Still, it was fun. Thanks guy! |

That IS another rant of mine. I go theough ALL THAT, risking my little bot life and cap a beacon while defending myelf from. Griffin who seems to have it out for me, (I swear hes my ex! Lol) I make it around the corner in one piece (amazingly!) and am half surprised I didnt crack the glass on my phone coz Im pressing so hard with my thumbs (does that even help? Haha!) when I turn around only to see the beacon turning white..then red.
Now wheres the sense in that?
I think Teamwork needs some work. But I hear ya about clans. Thats the way to go I suppose.
Still like the game although Im not lobing it like before. Im constantly outgunned by heavys with no denero to buy one of my own...yet.

This is a particular demon of mine. When I am trying to cap a beacon I get all sniper fire directed at me but the blue snipers are usually looking somewhere else. No long range support or clearing the way. My sainted grandmother could blast a pathway for me all the way to a beacon but some just want to pose in their sniper bots. And then, after they have camped 3/4 of the match away doing next to nothing and the rest of us have been mercilessly decimated by marauding reds, they realise that they are the last bot standing. And then there is a flurry of action as they get melted by 6 sets of orkans. Serves them right too. |

Though I must say and should probably start a new thread in discussions, but I dont wanna seem like Im wah wahing all the time because Ive had some really good cover lately.
Im getting blasted by a Griffin with the nonstop bullets coming at me in a slew of hot metal and Ive all but given up, when out of nowhere, there is a big tall, dare I say handsome fellow that slowly and rather calmly, walks thunderously up behind me and in 2.2 seconds, blows the Griffin away, effotlessly, then keeps on walking to do what he does best...blow away the enemy.
Other than shooting at him once or running up to him to tap him on the side, showing my gratitude, I wish there was a way to hi 5 our mates. Coz it feels good to be on a team that works together.
So THANK YOU WHOMEVER YOU ARE! My bot cant smile, but I can!!

I bet if they made those beacons out of 2-3 Au or much better amounts of Ag the problem would fix itself. But don't count on that anymore than you can count on a bunch of random players in the game. Squad.

Ah well, I'm hoping someone will be inviting me to an all light bot jamboree if they would when those custom matches are finally implemented. These horses are ready for war!!  |

If you want the ultimate beacon cap setup and can't depend on team mates, consider this setups: 1. Butch with 4 anciles; 2. Lancelot with ancile and 2 ecus; 3. Natasha with 2 anciles and 2 ecus; 4. Leo with an ancile and 2 ecus and a noricum; 5. Inquisitor with an ancile and 2 ecus - plus it has the stalker's perk; 6. Raijin with 2 anciles; 7. Gepard with 2 ecus on sides; 8. Stalker with 2 ecus. Personally i prefer the stalker with the 2 ecus. It never fails. |

And we still lost thanks to the bloody hemerrhoids on my "team" that never grabbed a single beacon and refused to defend any of those that I captured.
