OK, so it's more scifi-adventure than drama, but still....
Figured the place could use a mood-lightener. ?

Yes that movie is so bad it's good... I think it's still in theaters in Japan.... Aw, come on. There are a lot worse movies than that. Yes, it has quite a bit of the cheese factor in there, but I think it's in there to harken back to the glory days of the mech genre in the 80's.

"Pacific Rim: So bad, that it's good." I've got to find me a copy of this.

Trust me. There are lots of movies that are worse. I sat through the original "Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" back in the day. That's 90 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. Or sitting through Batman '65 at the local Trash Movie Orgy? Cool when you're six or seven. Not so much when you're in your fifties. But that's what my buddy wanted to do to cap off his bachelor party. So we went. Makes me think of Wayne's World 2, where Garth envisions getting drilled by the dentist while listening to Kenny G. I think I would have preferred that.

I've already been to hell where you're trapped in a really lousy alcohol-free wedding reception with the DJ's repertoire consisting of a sleeve of Kenny G CDs set to loop.

Not that nightmare. I thought this was a family oriented forum. Shame on you, sir! Shame, I say. Wha? It wasn't my wedding. Mine had booze and a moratorium on cheesy wedding music! I was trapped in that endless haze of Silhouette and G-Bop. It makes you feel so stinking dirty, but it's hard to get the filth off yourself.

Also turns out the narrator of the Honest Reviews series is the same guy who voiced the Council Spokesman in the latest XCOM games.

I enjoyed pacific rim as much as starship troopers . It's was epic awesome and entertaining. Stand alone giant robot movies are super rare. The last one was robot jox and that was 30 yrs ago. I do admit the mental compatible thing with a Japanese girl and punching before using sword or plasma gun was a bit hard to swallow but this ranks as one of my fave Sci fi flicks.
I can only pray the sequel won't be as horrid as starship troopers one. Speaking of sequels are we ever going to smell an Avatar II ?

You mean punch punch kick , backflip , backflip , backflip , suplex , then a pew and finally ten pews when its clearly already dead . Naturally the enterprising Asians are swarming all over the corpse to harvest bone powder so we can all ..... GET IT UP !!!
Our super powers have a stockpile of nukes , enough to roast our planet 4 times over . Our Terrorists have lots of chemical Bio weapons and anthrax . Heck a boeing 747 would hurt like a mother if it crashed into Godzilla. Our Neo Nazi rednecks have old WW2 mustard gas . Why are we building giant robots at 50 gagillion bux each not to mention harrassing twins , infecting them with brain tumours because Bill Gates cannot develop a glitch free software interface to save his life .
Only to shelf that idea in favour of building a wall ? The UN led by Donald Trump forgot to build the giant wall first ? Okay .......
Its times like these when Buddha thinks . " I should have given it all to the monkeys "
