Because it is designed to be weak, and have limited firepower/health to limit their effectiveness above lower leagues, where pilots are still learning how to grasp the controls of the game. What is the point of buying an Lancelot with 5000 gold, when you can buy a destrier with 50k ag? As someone who has happily spent a few hundred on this game I would buy special bots even if silver bots had similar powers. I bought the rogatka even though the griffon is a silver bot, and I would do the same for other bots. I also understand game design enough to know that as a game goes on the stuff available at the beginning of the game was designed without knowing what abilities would come later. Because of this I am very pro a game getting a rebalance every couple of years where all the things in the game are rebalanced with what is in the game at that point not just what was in the game in the beginning. Currently it seems like all silver bots were designed with only the ecu and ancile shield in the game. The spider bots, and carnage are designed to not greatly unbalance that, and because of that 2 of the 3 bots are a bit lacking. The Brit bots were then designed with the knowledge the developers gained from having robots with built in shields. The WW bots are a bit lacking because no robots in the game has those abilities so the developers had to be conservative with them. After all of this it seems like the developers have decided the game's balance is a bit more robots then they thought and now we have the dash bots and the fancy stealth griffon coming. With all of these changes that have been made to the game I would like to see the silver bots, gepard, fury, WP bots, and WW bots rebalanced after the 4 bots in the pipe line have been released. Jump: Cossack, Vityaz, griffon Lancelot style shield: Destrier, Golem, Natasha exceptional HP: Schutze, Boa, Leo rush: gepard, carnage, rhino brit bots: Garett, Galahad, Lancelot (would like its shield to be like the other two, remove rush, increase base speed) spider bots: Fujin, Rajin, and a new light bot w/ancile Increase base speed, fast & immobile style stealth bots: stalker, and new medium and heavy bots w/stealth WW bots: Jesse, doc, butch with a little tweak of some kind Dash bots: mk1,2, & 3. Stealth jump: new light bot, rogatka, heavy bot in pipe line That just leaves the Fury and Patton. I am not sure what to do with them. Maybe enhanced sensors that list the bot type and level under the pilots name so you can tell what bots are behind cover and not just that there is a bot behind cover. For symmetry and a light bot with that ability too. You've said so many things that I have thought for awhile. This game was definitely developed in layers like you said. Sadly, there was not good integration between the layers.

Realistically, a Gepard with jump. It's already a nasty aphid chucker, but add jump to that? You'd be lobbing aphids over taller buildings and still have a good chance of hitting with many of the missiles.

How about Lancelot with no Ancile and no Rush? Or Griffin with a 'Hop' instead of a Jump? Sooooo...what you are describing here appears to be a couple of parked cars with weapons on them. Did I get that right?

I don't think Rog users would be happy... Cossack has low HP than rog. I agree but I'm sure some would see too many similarities to a gold bot.

Sooooo...what you are describing here appears to be a couple of parked cars with weapons on them. Did I get that right? Def a different stype of play.... After playing bots of all types I really feel like 30 should be the speed bottom. I would like to see a division of speeds like this: Light: 48-68 Medium: 38-52 Heavy: 30-42 Slower than 30 is really irritating, difficult to maneuver, and I cannot imagine faster than 70 would be too fast for the size of the maps.

Sadly, there was not good integration between the layers. Any game with a long life span is built in layers, and it can be a real challenge for developers to know when to merge those layers and restore the unified feel that games tend to launch with. I would even be willing to say that most developers don't even try to do so let alone do it competently. That is why I love threads like these. It is important to discuss what the game could be, and not just silly minmax wishlists, or wanting your favorite thing in game to have the latest update. But to truly understand where the game could go, how great it could be, how well all the elements that make it a worthwhile game to play can work together to make it an even better game. Now I really wanting rushing Gepards though, and am a bit bummed that it is unlikely that we will ever get them lol

Rush Gepards would bring them back to life for sure.

Rush Gepards would bring them back to life for sure. There is honestly very little wrong with this game. Which is why a thread like this is so fun. You can actually look at how the layers can be combined together to create a smoother better whole. In a lot of games some layers are all messy and poorly done which make it difficult to talk about anything but what is wrong with the game. The layers in question and how those layers affect the other perhaps fine layers. Rush Gepards would be really great though. Then can have a long cool down too, or at least longer than a cossacks jump. Could you imagine how scary it would be to see that little rhino wanna be on the other side of the map just come screaming in at you guns a blazing! Would be awesome! I have also been thinking about the cossack. I think it might be interesting if they reduced its size and hit box. That would be a really cool way to for the bot to stand out. Not a special ability per say, just small enough that you really have to try to target it. Gekkos could become the anti cossack guns that you would take to stop them from being beacon cappers that other guns just have a hard time hitting.
