Can someone explain the finer aspects of beacon capture timing and distribution? Occasionally I seem to get credit for captures I don't think I deserve. I have attributed this to being either nearby, in the capture zone but LATE after a squad mate. Does anyone else see unexpected captures?
Questions
1) How is beacon distributed when squad mates arrive at beacon at virtually the same time and convert it to blue? Is it the "winner" by millisecond? Loser, by a millisecond, gets nothing? Is there ever any sharing of captures?
2) What if I am fighting a Red in the capture zone, first to arrive (starting the capture animation), and a 2nd squad mate arrives and bails me out helping kill the Red and converting the beacon? Do only I get credit? Do both get credit (better)?
3) Is it correct that no capture at all is recognized if you convert a red beacon to white but die before it goes blue? Or is some capture given? I am pretty certain no, but trying to explain those extra captures.
Thanks for the insight.

1 Everyone gets it if they're in the zone when it caps. 2 See #1 3 Only captures count

You can see how far out the zone goes by approaching a beacon...as soon as it starts to turn, you are in the zone. When the beacon turns your color, as long as you are in that circular zone, you get credit.
Many players make the mistake of thinking they have to stand next to or on top of the beacon to get credit....I usually run right thru a white beacon....have to wait a bit more to turn a red one blue.
Cheers!

Great. I just assumed only 1 bot got the capture. I also run through the whites.
So start of the capture does not so much matter.... As long as you are in the zone, no matter how long or short of time, when the beacon turns blue you get credit, right?

That is correct - all bots in the zone when the beacon turns get credit.

This is a great time to point out to newer players that proximity to the beacon extends in three dimensions. In some boards where you have an elevated beacon (Dead_city, Canyon), you can stand UNDER the beacon and cap it (usual terms and conditions apply)

List of beacons that you don't have to be next to to cap: CAN C - under the bridge
DC B - beside the hill D - beside the hill
PP B - on or behind the adjacent buildings
SZH E - inside the underpass
SPR B - on or behind the adjacent cover C - under the wall
YAM A - under the cracked road B - under the bridge

On a related note.
Liberating red beacons for daily tasks. Is this just changing red to white, or do they need to be made blue? I have done heaps but never really checked.

Mission related: "Liberating" a beacon is specifically taking it from Red to White. "Capturing" a beacon is specifically taking it from White to Blue. Both count as long as you are inside the capture sphere (not just a radius, but r( squared) )

SZH E - inside the underpass What do you mean? E on Shenzhen is in the flat wide-open center, and there's no underpass on this map afaik.
