Hi all I'm brainstorming for my variant / clone War Robots game. Anyone care to offer some suggestions to what would make War Robots more fun, fair, engaging? Here's some weapons / features I'm planning on adding: - Between 1 and 3 back equip slots for certain weapons / counter-measures, and robot features. Slots will be unlocked as the robot is leveled up. Not all robots would have back slots or the same maximum number of them. Some equipment may use more than one slot.
Things that might go on a back slot:
* Cloaking / stealth module
* Field effect weapon (emits damage outward from robot position to everything in range) - Some might also leech health / shield energy.
* Mine / Sentry emitter
* Jump module
* Hover module
* Burst module (rapid forward motion)
* Anti-Missle countermeasures (chaffe, Phalanx style auto-cannon / laser, etc)
* Certain missile launchers
* Enhanced radioactive / EMP / fire shielding
- Melee weapons.
* Thermite injector. - Like an enormous syringe full of fire. Upgraded levels can let it also act as a short range flame thrower, creating a hazardous environment effect anywhere the flame lands for a while. Possible addon's = ( Barbs ), so when you stab someone with it, it hooks in and you can't be shook off very easily or at all, and ( Diamond tips ) for improved penetration, and possibly a ( Burst Launcher ) to shoot short bursts of thermite forward (short range). Also a ( Health Leech ) high level feature that reclaims some of the power from the victims ruptured core back into your own reserves.
* Link sword - A sword and a chain / hook in one. Can either compress down into sword form or detach into sections linked by cables with a barbed claw on the end to grab onto robots, buildings, and wreckage. Will pull one robot towards the other, or the object attached to, based on the weight of each element. Wreckage can be picked up and swung around like a wrecking ball, and launched at enemies.
* Martial arts - Some robots might have very limited firearms but extensive melee fighting skills, and probably fast motion / maneuvers, ability to throw wreckage etc. High level punchers might get a ( Shock Fist ) feature that electrocutes the victim and potentially causes voltage to arc off them and onto other nearby enemies, and so on based on how high a level of the shock fist they're using.
- Weapons will sometimes have attachment slots that enhance their functionality. Some of these slots may unlock for certain weapons when they hit the right level.
The attachments would mostly be stat buffs, but also things like special ammo types would be supported, so some launchers would be shooting regular explosives, others shoot flame rounds, others drop dirty bombs that irradiate the area for a while. Also (slightly) homing bullets, and possibly health leech bullets, and EMP rounds that cause the victim to be slowed down for a while based on how overloaded their circuits are.
- Destroyable buildings.
Buildings will gradually degenerate as they take fire or impact from displaced robots. Sometimes they'll leave behind wreckage that certain robots and melee weapons can use as weapons.
- Hardcore mode: Like COD. Much higher damage levels, friendly fire, generally unforgiving. Possibly may require paying an amount before the game in gold or silver that goes into a collective pot split by the winners.
Good ? Bad ? Ugly ?

Invert Armour/Speed values.
Mecha start at maximum Speed and it decreases as Armour is added/upgraded to simulate weight. It will eliminate meta-bots.

If you could change War Robots to make it better, what would you do?
Change it to Battle Titans.

If you could change War Robots to make it better, what would you do? Change it to Battle Titans. I've been hearing about that, by some of the ex War Robots devs, right? Just watched some youtube of the beta, looks pretty awesome.

That's excellent, right in line with something I was considering too where your current ammo levels (there might be limited ammo and resupply points) determine your actual movement speed. So when you're out of ammo you run faster. Could definitely make the Armor level a factor.

Fix the league cup system and make it point based. Make tanking harder/less rewarding. Speed up lights and maybe mediums, maybe even slow down heavies by a few kph.

Three plus years is a hell of a honeymoon. BT looks like a confusing hot mess. I'll still try it, but saying that it's the future based on some YT vids? Please.

Ok Match-making is obviously where a lot of attention is needed... here's what I was thinking about that.
Prior to starting a match, everyone's hangar robot is evaluated for it's output / armor levels and given a general 'worth' amount. This amount might get scaled a bit by the users skill level.
Let's visualize that work as a number of XXX's, so it forms a bar of all of them together when added up.
Robot 1: XXX
Robot 2: XXXXX
Robot 3: X
So this user gets XXXXXXXXX component of the MM 'balance bars'
Let's say there's 5 other players, and their bars are XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX, and XXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXX, XXXXXXXX
So team one bar:
XXXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXX|XXXXXXXX
Same process followed for team two, but you get a different bar:
XXXX|XXXXXXX|XXX|XXXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXX
So the values are pretty off, so to balance, it could switch team 1 player 1 with team two player 3 and then the bars look like:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXX|XXXXXXX|XXXX
XXXXXXXX|XXXX|XXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXXX|XXXXXXXX|XXXXXXXXXXX
So that should be more fair. But let's say there's just a huge difference in power levels, and it can't be balanced... those players with the ridiculous levels might not get all their hangars for that game. The MM might disable one or more of them as needed to balance the match.
I have not considered the tanking problem much yet. I think requiring people to wager some of their winnings in order to play in certain types of matches might help.

1 minute lockout after leaving a battle early Increased silver rewards for higher leagues Reduce trebuchet and gekko max range to 900m Zenit leaves a pool of fire on the ground for 10 seconds Noricum travels faster, has a 200m minimum range but has a loose firing pattern, and super tight firing pattern at longer ranges. Make ancile incompatible with Lancelot level 13 Cossack allows 2 to take up only 1 hangar slot (same hp and speed as level 12) level 13 schutze has a self destruct ability (same hp and speed as level 12)

Well I'm just gonna buff and nerf some robots and weapons like: Nerf long range and Mid range weapons as their advantage against close range weapons is having more range. Buff starter robots. Make shield damage count(only to physical sheild since energy shields regenerate you can farm damage with it). In every event you and your teammates able to get gold and event coin even when you lose same with the other team. Make more close range based maps than long range based maps And last but not the least.........chat and teammates health bar!!!

Make the UI at least user scalable, if not customizable.
Allow touch sensitivity to be changed OUTSIDE A FRIGGING MATCH.

#1 thing I'd do before mucking with bots, weapons, or MM algorithms is add a Practice mode. Everything is at maybe level 5, played against AI, all bots and weapons are available to try based on what's available in the game at your current level. No points, no Ag or Au, just a trial area like the TS to get a feel for different equipment before spending the Au or WP that takes so many weeks to acquire only to find you made a bad choice. But on a practice map, not one of the standard game maps -- the idea is to get a feel for the gear, not to pre-explore the landscape.
Second thing would be to somehow work hangar levels into the MM along with the league system. Nothing too complicated, just establish broad ranges for each league to prevent 12/12 hangars from dropping down to Bronze league. Also do something to balance out squad matching. I do t know exactly what yet, but a team full of Gold players with one Expert should not be pushed into a game against all Experts ... or Champions. My opinion, the whole squad concept the way it's currently implemented needs to be revisited.
And I think I'd definitely add Deathmatch mode -- no beacons, just last bot standing wins. Highest number of kills would replace high beacons for that extra 5 Au.

Implement a league system: you play with people in the same league as you (I.e. Similar skill/effectiveness). If you do well you get promoted to a higher league with tougher players. If you do badly you get relegated.
How difficult could it be?

Make the UI at least user scalable, if not customizable. Allow touch sensitivity to be changed OUTSIDE A FRIGGING MATCH. Not just "accidentally pressing upgrade now", we could also "accidentally swipe our sensitivity when we wanna drop another bot"! And YES, user-configurable! I wanna shift some buttons here and there, make some buttons bigger or smaller, I mean a lot of games out there could do this!

It needs a TON of optimization on Android devices, better graphics handling, a better settings menu with more options, better sound effects for some weapons, training room, better mm system that is actually Better, new customizations to the bots, true stealth for stalker, jetpack effect for jumping bots, slower heavies, faster lights, and once again, more optimization.

Joystick/gamepad intergration. Mobile games are way beyond mobile game controls. Dual axis movement is horrible without buttons to control firing. At very least allow user customized set-up. I'd love to be able to have more "red buttons", the standard "fire all" and then two for for "fire left group"/"fire right group". Or even if I were in a Frankenstein build, the ability to group certain weapons is leass clunky than current gameplay.

I hate using the touch screen so use a Mad Catz controller to pilot my bots. It's much better but War Robots don't support gamepads apparently so unfortunately I don't get the spec ability button matched to my gamepad. Why on earth there is no support for gamepads is beyond me.

Oh no, that was another very talented artist. I just copied and pasted from the FaceBook community. Thought it had a ring of truth about it. You might like this vid. I'm in agreement with the creator of it on the state of the game. Share with Pixonic if you agree. They really need to see it a few million times imo.
