Hello humans
I'm glad to be part of the War Robots community, I've been playing alone for a long time and I have to say it's much better to interact with other addicted pilots (even if firing plasma blasts from behind can be qualified as an interaction) Quick presentation: I'm a 25yo UI designer living in Paris, I design modern and intuitive interfaces for different softwares and mobile applications. One of my projects is to design a new (alternative) version of the War Robots interface just for fun and upload it here to see what you think about it. (I'm not a big fan of the new battle UI on test server but it's another topic ahah) If I had spend all the hours playing War Robots in other activities I could have: -passed my driving license -become a not-so-bad guitar player -learned the basics of Japanese language -released the 10 firsts episodes of my own podcast -said goodbye to those little love handles by doing quotidian regular exercises Well, decisions have been made. No regrets. (except for the driving license maybe) Why do I like this game so much ? It's a perfect balance of simplicity (bots+weapons+damages that's all) and strategy. (wow, that's a boring and common justification) Also, firing 64 orkan's rockets in the face of an over-exposed red player
is something pretty relaxing after a hard day of work.
Some people do yoga, I prefer rockets. you too right? I'm playing in Gold 1 league, far from the top-skilled players. But something I've seen by reading this forum is that the high level players seem to be very likely to give advices and interact with middle-skilled and newbies players. And that's a GOOD THING, because sometimes in other games the high level players don't even want to talk with the newbies, and feel like they are some kind of masters of the galaxy, often forgetting to stay humble and tolerant. I like to finish with a quote, because words from wise men are an infinite source of knowledge. So, as the Dalaï-lama said one day to the president Churchill: "Bitc* don't steal my beacon"
_end of transmission _yeah I know I talk a lot and I'm not even that funny

Welcome to the Forums. Lots to do, lots to say, lots to read and lots of help help and discussions. I'd be interested to see your "new" UI, even though I do like the Test Server edition.

Thanks ! About my "alternative UI" project, I will really do it just for fun, it's not like if I wasn't satisfied with the actual one but I'd like to try something slightly different. I should be posting it in the next months !

HAHA great first post... welcome! Regarding that point about the vets giving advice and tips to young'ins, it is better for us to have quality players that not only know how to shoot, but how to work with teams. Both randoms and squads. It is very likely that I will end up in a game that has all kinds of mixed experience levels, and since I am only 1/6 of my team, I need them to be competent and aware of what they are doing and why. Passing on info doesn't keep us in any sort of compromised position in any rankings or rewards, so it is beneficial for us to do this. Sometimes there are many paths that lead to the same place and that is mostly acknowledged here. There are always a few folks who think they know best and will not hear otherwise, even on this fine forum... but as a whole, we all tend to eventually fall back on some form of "Well, this is what works for me, where I am in the Leagues. You may have a different experience, but since I can't agree with you, I won't recommend that you keep doing it; here is what you should be doing...." if a disagreement is had. One instance of that is the chronological purchasing order of items/slots/bots to buy with Au (I am NOT getting into that here... just using an example.) It is a subject that people feel pretty strongly about no matter which method they choose. There are others, as well, but the point is that, mostly, people will actually debate the advice they give and it is mostly civil and productive. I have definitely enjoyed my time here at this forum and in my clan, playing War Robots. I hope that it continues to provide a place for blowing things up with friends for a good time to come for both me, and you and everyone else! Anyway... again, welcome! Viva la France!

You never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression. Well done.
What if I told you there was a clan (family of clans actually) that held itself as the representatives of the official Wiki of the game, and that one of its most important tenets was the guiding of newer players and helping them with the collected knowledge of the community to increase their effectiveness in, and enjoyment of, the game?
And what if I also told you that this same clan placed a high value on communicative, creative individuals who wanted to add their voice to a fun loving group of personalities?
What if I told you that this was in fact a sales pitch?

Although it's great that you're enjoying this game, I think it is very unwise to prioritize this game over other tasks (and, or, being unable to balance gaming with these other tasks). The implications - effects - of this game are immediate and short-lived while the advantages of the other tasks you mentioned (learning a new language, exercise, guitar, license etc)are life-long and absolute. When you're older what will define you is not the games you've played but what you've learned and become (a guitarist, a driver, someone who is fit and healthy, etc). Focus your efforts on the tangible and priceless. Also, link what you're working on.

HoneyNutCheerios , we're going to need you to turn in your Official Gamer Nerd badge and report to HR to be reassigned into the real world. Be carful, that big bright spot that makes lines on the floor is called the sun and it will hurt our kind.

Enjoyed your post...nice job
i hope to return to Pairs someday, but London must be first
a quote from another Dali[sic], intended for others on the forum
The first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot.
