I have one, but the app isn't in the store. I found some APK site but it doesn't seem to do anything for me. Can someone walk this old goat through the process?

It's in the Amazon App Store, which should have a launch button on the home page of your Kindle. Also, this might help. war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/10983/War Robots-players-who-use-kindle

Also, this is the method I used to put Google Play on my Kindle.
I installed the Android version on my Kindle and that's what I play.

The Amazon server's player-base is very small.

The Amazon server's player-base is very small. Yep. Because it's so small, you'll be facing Experts and Masters while still in Recruit and Private leagues.

Also, if you want to do the Android version, you apparently have to uninstall the Amazon one first.

I'm thinking of picking up a fire HD 8 during prime day, but the lack of a dedicated graphics chip has me leery. If I don't wind up getting one, I'll just root my shield K1 and install gl tools to hopefully turn the shadows and a few things down to smooth it out under heavy rocket fire.

I play on Kindle, straight from the app store. Only reason it might not be there for you is if you get a non HD fire that isn't compatible.
Didn't realize that Google/Amazon servers are different but that makes so much sense. From the beginning I have fought much higher opponents. But it works both ways so it's fine
On a side note I think there's a lot smaller pool of skilled players on Amazon sever because I'm using level 5-8 bots/weapons and wrecking faces. In diamond league and knife fighting is an easy way to destroy the noobs with higher upgrades

Two weeks ago, I would have told you it runs great with two (what I consider to be minor) cons: you can feel the processor get pretty hot and the battery life is only 3-4hours while gaming.I But I'm not sure what's going on right now. What used to be the occasional lag when a Griffin was jumping has turned into downright teleporting of jumping bots and fast-moving bots. I'm hoping that is on Pixonic's end because of the heavier server load due to the event. If so, all's good and will return to normal in a couple weeks. Gonna post a thread to get a sense of what others are experiencing. If no one else is having this problem, could be my Kindle, in which case I'd not be too pleased with it. Have to say, though, I don't think it's the device. I've had this one (Fire HD 8) three months and have been very impressed with it, especially at such a low price. It's handled every game I've put on it, streams like a champ, plays downloaded movies with VLC/MX Player no problem, fast web surfing, etc.

That answers a lot of my questions on it - and I think you are right, a lot of it is probably the server load. I've noticed a fair bit of that on my K1 recently as well.

I recently began climbing the ranks on the Amazon server myself. Decided to check out how things were over on that turf. It's interesting for sure, but fun!
(Make sure your current War Robots is linked to a Google Play Games account first! This will ensure that you can return to your Google account progress later)
In order to do this: 1. Make sure you have the Amazon app.
2. Uninstall existing War Robots app.
3. Install War Robots using the Amazon app INSTEAD of the Google Play app.
Enjoy!
After you want to jump back to your regular account simply uninstall and reinstall using the Google Play app.
EDIT: This can be done on ANY Android device.

The Amazon server's player-base is very small. Yeah, Paps and I were discussing this a few nights back. It's so small it actually looks like the leavers league without all the tanking and map skipping you see on Android or iOS. Champions are forced to play with new recruits. When I first started my account there I was playing with Champions as well, but it wasn't as bad as it sounds. Noone's equipment was super awesome, best upgrades were around 6/6. It's starting to get a bit rougher for the recruits now though. But one thing I have noticed, the competition seems to be more fierce over there. Everyone is giving their all and playing 'til the end. Totally unlike what is happening constantly with my Google accounts. I have an account on Amazon's server. Thor. Already hit Master with just four 6/6 & 7/7 bots in under 350 matches. Here's my profile... I'm still able to compete with the Champions who beat me to the download because their equipment isn't that much higher upgraded than my own yet. In fact I'm stomping many of them in terms of performance if not ranking. But the climb has been incredibly fast. And I'm not spending a dime on the game either. There are still 3 slot hangers running around in the Legends League with 6/6 equipment. There are no clans and no squading. But I've been informed that it is coming soon. Dredd77Installs right off the Amazon App Store servers. I've had it die off mid-match a few times though. Cleared my cache and it seems to be fine now. I'm in the habit of clearing my caches on all my devices before I start playing now just to be safe.

You're right, it gets quite hot after several games and the battery spent is noticeable, other than that is great for playing. If you're able to tweak shadowing I guess it would run smoother. Yesterday I noticed that jumping-teleporting thing a couple of times, I thought it was my mother@#~!&!! windows 10 that was using my bandwidth to download god knows what, even having been 3 whole days disabling and uninstaling and crippling features such as that.... So, maybe it could be server lag...
