Ramen is for cheapskate uni/college students who aren't working in a medical department and making it rain and can afford pho.

Interestinf fact, pho's garnish actually can be a lot of things even if i only mentioned the beef-based ingrdients. Unfortunately all of them are is unique Vietnamese language and i can't really translate them into English.. (tai, nam, gau, vien, etc..) ( To be fair though, you need to try both really good pho and really good ramen. I tried them both..and then i can't really decide between the two. (

I'm Vietnamese, and eat pho almost every month. So of course, soup, noodles, meatballs, and beef is better to me than noodles with more chemicals than pho! But I still like ramen

That's true.. Quite a shame though. Vietnamese is such a great language that it deserves to be of a first world..

Just to float this thread back to Recent.
And because I want to win.
Pho all day.
Ramen supporters can shut the pho cup.

Huh. Never looked at off topic before I actually registered here, so this is new to me. Regarding the poll... Y'all can keep your chinese soup. I vote neither.

Pho all day, every day. Ramen is nice, but I have a Vietnamese friend who makes an amazing bowl of pho. A boiling bowl of rice noodles, in a hearty stock and with tender beef inside is always a treat after trudging around in the -2 degrees Celsius streets in Moscow.

I like Pho, but my heart will always belong to Ramen. I love it all, instant and from scratch. I actually learned to make the noodles and broth from scratch because I love it that much...
Now I'm hungry.

Never tried either. But I like a good bowl of soup. Here in Germany, we have many ingredients, especially made for soup.

I will have to try Pho before I can vote... we supposedly have an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in town. Maybe I'll get an order of Pho this week. New foods to try are always welcome!

Broke the tie for pho! Pho Tai Jin all day long, but so good in the mid morning for hangovers.

It is a bit off topic, but it is about soup. Here in germany we have special made pancakes for soup. Has anybody here tried that? Well, except me...

I have a funny pho story. I knew a guy in Houston who started his own restaurant. His last name was quang so he named it pho-q.
