Aloha, just wondering what ya'll do to counter snipers. For example on Canyon, there are sometimes multiple snipers or maybe just one, which has pretty good aim+damage. So i had situations, where i had to take immediate cover, to not get trashed in the beginning... Having multiple red snipers as opponents, kept me from coming out of cover. After waiting for almost a minute i thought that i can't hide behind the rock for the whole match and tried to move somewhere else and BOOOM BOOOM triple Trebuchet from 2 Furies at once - DEAD... grrrr ... and the worst thing was, it immediatly happened to the next mech i spawned aswell. Didn't even make it to cover right in time. If i'm lucky and the snipers aren't that good, sometimes it works to jump from cover to cover, but waiting for the jump cooldown without doing anything useful ain't good either. A few times, i managed to take out a triple treb Fury with a Gareth, but i had to run almost a whole circle at the outer border of the map, to reach him. That took a lot of time, but luckily after i eleminated him, there were no more red snipers and we won. Spamming a sniper with Hydras sometimes makes him retreat and he can't just stand in his save spot any longer... Since my Hydras are still too low level, i'd probably need the whole match to kill him, so that ain't good either. And usually i don't have Hydras in my Hangar when i need them anyway. Sniping back with Trebs, is another option, but i miss too often, my Trebs are too low yet and sniping just ain't my thing. Hunting down snipers with something else than my Gareth never worked for me, because usually the reds protect each other and it is even impossible for me to get as close as 500m to use my RDB. Using Molots on a Griff, sometimes makes the snipers retreat, while other times, they just ignore my low level Molot tickling... lol Zeus' are not part of my inventory yet, Tridents only at level 5 and 600m will not be enough for me to touch them snipers anyway ... So what are YOU doing if you got snipers on the red team taking out one blue after another ? Any tips would be appreciated. ps: Don't reply Noricums+Zenits ... although after the upcoming buff, they might even become a choice.

Hop to the snipers in my Rogatka and take them out with my orkans... if their teammates don't help them. I love seeing them trying to run away, as if they can in a Natasha or Fury.

I only ever had success sneaking up on them.
Caught two treb Natasha’s on the raised home beacon in dead city, I was in the Thunder carnage, they didn’t last long. The Rog is pretty good for getting around to them on some maps, got a few in canyon and Springfield with him.
Other than that I tend to hide.

1): Keep cover between You and the Sniper.
2): Fire one or two rounds at them. This makes them aware of your presence.
3): Advance from cover to cover firing one or two rounds. This will force them to move. This is what you want. When they relocate they will be exposed and in range of your Teammates.
You don't have to destroy them yourself. Forcing them from or behind cover is just as good as taking them off the battlefield.

This is actually very relevant lately. Since 2.9, the Midrange Shake-Weight fest has become so prevalent that many are countering with Trebs. I have had more games with almost all Trebs on the Red side than I have ever had before... so it's a good question to ask.
I break out either Gary or Galahad. Even now I tend to keep 1 of either 1 in my hangar for just such purposes...
I don't know what levels you are using on yours, but I survived 2 or 3 full salvos from a Butch and lost my shield JUST as I reached covered area that the beacon was in, while playing a game yesterday in SF (LOTS of open ground to cover to get there). Level 9 Gary. Not a LOT of shield, but enough to get where you need to go. If you can, use terrain as a shield, too... but if you can't...
Just have to learn how to run while looking in directions that allow your shield to point to the Trebby*, and you'll eat several shots before it knocks out your shield. It takes practice... both in running while not looking straight ahead and in angling the shield when you cant see the enemy directly, but it works. I tend to go with Gary... I either run to a beacon or advance on the home beacon and harass the snipers, or both (Canyon is the best map for this if you spawn close to the side beacon). I've been pleasantly surprised in the amount of fun I can still cause with that lil' monster post 2.9.
*(If you don't get the shield angled right you will take damage... don't sweat it if it happens once, just take the time to peek at the baddies, and then angle it. Soon you won't need to do that other than making sure the Trebby dude is still there and not traveling a path that gives him a better angle.)
IMO, YMMV

If you have a dusty Rhino... it may be an option. Outfit it with RDBs or Molots and just charge those fools and give em the horn!

I also think it's still a good idea to keep a shield bot in your hangar for situations like this. Everyone seems to be running Griffins, so hence all the trebs. I think shield bots will make a slight comeback to deal with the snipers. Hopefully, hangars will diversify with time.

I love my RDB Griff but the extra security and speed might be worth it given all the trebs I see. I have the wsp and the cash to upgrade it good enough to survive some on the field.

Now, I am not sure I would say it is worth buying a Rhino... but if you really just have nothing else to spend the resources on... it could be a fun project! My advice, if you have not owned one though, is to search threads here about piloting one (there are plenty that say "help I just got a Rhino and it sucks!" or something similar) or YT vids about piloting it. It takes a while to get up to speed, but they are worth it even now, IF you like them enough, to stick with it. They aren't my style, but I do have one that is an 8 that I occasionally use to remind myself why I don't use them lol! But no denying that they are good as sniper bait. Their shield is one of the best in the game as far as HP per level... and if you can shoot back with Molots or RDB while they reload their Treb shots, they will go down quick. Heck, with Molots, you may be able to make them go to cover with just your side weapons and never even have to drop your shield to get to the medium ones. If you already have a Rhino, though, sorry for telling you what you already know

I've had success with a Triple Molot Galahad as a dedicated anti-sniper/Mid range bot. You out range mid range, laugh at zues, and can tank some trebuchet shots with the shield.
I have also been able to flank and destroy them in my Ork Rog, but I find that requires a bit too much luck in that no reds are paying attention to flankers.

My Gary is L9, because i wanted the max. speed of course and luckily upgrading was pretty fast I regulary use "blind running" to avoid the speed reduction of a closed shield. So i am often running sideways, when running forward. Running backwards is the worst though, sometimes dropped off a cliff or ran into something, sometimes straight into the dual thunder of a Carnage... lol If possible i choose my route, so that fire is coming from the left, because then i can just run forward with the shield open, catching all the damage with the shield, unless multiple reds shoot at me from different angles. So if the sniper has no backup from another red, it is often not so hard to approach and finish him. The problems start if Hydras, Spirals, Tridents and Zeus' are suddenly also fired at my poor lil' Gary... That's really too much for him to take.. hehe Don't own a Rhino yet, but one day i will. Maybe i just put 2 Ecus on my lil' Destrier, approach the sniper and slap him to pieces with my Ecus... lol

Level trebs to counter trebs? Uggh.
Yama is the worst lately. It's all mid-range and trebs. Good luck taking out an enemy sniper on that map with anything other then trebs of your own. It's pretty lame.
I really hope they release the noricums buff soon. I will be all over those.

If you can buddy up with a fellow Gareth pilot, it's possible to get to the snipers in Yama and take them out early. Just hope that your other teammates see what you're trying to do and take out the red Griffins.

I either make them uncomfortable with my Molot-loaded Griffin or Spydra Griffin. Depends on the distance and what's going on in the game.

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 put up some great advice. I'll just add one thing that I don't thing I saw mentioned. This gets harder to do if there are more than one or two red snipers, but pay attention to when they fire. You get two pieces of information when a sniper fires - where is his line of sight at the time, and a window of opportunity. Like tricky said, stay behind cover when you can. Pay attention to their line of sight (a good indicator is that if you can see the yellow glow, you're probably in danger). While using cover as much as possible, know that immediately after them firing, you don't need cover for ~15-20 seconds. Their reload is just over 20 seconds, but I say 15 because they can still do decent damage to you at 75% power. Just make sure you're paying attention to and using your windows of opportunity. A lot of ground can be covered in 15 seconds when you know you don't have to worry about staying out of sight. If you play with sound on, you might be able to listen to Treb shots (I don't know because I have sound off). Also, a disclaimer: if their sniper is a Treb butch, make sure you wait for both rounds to fire before taking advantage of the window.

avoiding trebs is one thing adding to fun (and annoyance). it feels great when a treb hit a structure or terrain just in front of me in Canyon, SF, and Yamantau, if I see more than one red trebs for extanded time, usually blue wins. most annoying are zeus bots, for my jumper-carnage hangers. what I am doing is (1) use cover and (2) actively ignore them. ignoring is rather important bcs seeking to eliminate them out usually exposes my bots to more snipers and their guards. shoot them only when they come within range while doing other things (flanking other reds, beacon capping) and do not revenge-charge (or otherwise maneuver for the sole purpose to take down ) them. sometimes, leaving them alone longer in the field, to the point forcing them to make the choice whether to eject or not, is benecicial for the blue team

This trick with snipers is getting the contested beacons, once you got that covered then you can run and hide. A team that is sniper heavy will, more often than not, have to ditch the long range bots to have a chance of actually winning.

Depending on the map and what the other reds are doing, sometimes I just walk up and kill them. Simple, effective and VERY satisfying. Of course, I normally run a Leo first, so I can take some trebbing and still make it to effective range most of the time.

It seems the advice on here is spot on. I will say that I think some of the better snipers out there don't just target bots, but target opponents they know are good (especially in a random squad). I played on game recently where I lost all or most of my HP on 3 of my bots to the same damn Butch treb. It felt like he was targeting me (though, I will admit that it may not have been my best game regardless).
Think about it though, if you see ADRIANNNNNN on the red team, aren't your trebs going to glow a little brighter in anticipation of blasting his game apart? (who knows, maybe you make a video...) Still, I see guys I know are good all the time, and I am extra carful of and aware of them, despite not being a sniper.

Trebuchet snipers have been particularly annoying today. Most of my matches this morning ended up on Yamantau and Springfield.
Honestly, the best tactic to deal with snipers is ignore them and stay in cover. Sniping isn't terribly effective most of the time in this game because of area control being so important. The closer you are to the cover and the farther the sniper is from it, the more work he needs to do to get a line on you. Sure, they'll do some damage, but they're not effectively doing anything to win the game most of the time except MAYBE covering a home beacon.
Of you're intent on putting the hurt on a sniper and you close on him, odds are he'll just bail out of the sniper bot anyway and spawn a close range bot to try and take you out. It's what I've seen a lot lately.
Lastly, if you want to suppress a sniper, consider bringing some sniper kit with you. Most habitual snipers are squeamish under fire because they're so used to being away from the game. If you shoot back with a trebuchet or gekko you'll probably spook him into cover, or at least stress him out enough to make him miss. Or Hydras. Being hit with Hydras makes it hard to do anything but be annoyed.

Then you're a sitting duck, already in their range with nothing much to fight back with. It's generally dangerous to completely close in on a sniper if they're camping from their spawn. Try using something like plasma with 350m range or even something more and don't get any close than you need to. If you're intent on killing them that is. The other thing about chasing into their spawn is you don't know when other reds are going to die/spawn until it's too late often.

Context: I realized early in the match that I was in a 12/12 jungle, and needed to come up with something to do other than get smeared like a bug. I worked at moving myself into a position to threaten their home beacon (they were spawning in the city). There was a Gekko/Treb Leo up on the hill at the edge of the map, getting hits on the Blues attacking the field beacons. From here I was able to draw his attention to me, as well as harass any spawners - including pecking away at an Ancilot. Eventually the snip came down into the city to deal with me, which was his undoing as I was able to take him down on my own, despite being damaged already and significantly out-leveled. I fell pretty quickly to the volley of fire that came in afterwards, but I had a warm glow of accomplishment.

Well, my Gareth sniper hunt fails more often than not, that's why i decided to ask ya'll here for other tactics. I usually only have the Gareth in my Hangar, in case beacon(s) need to be flipped quick or if i need to get somewhere fast to help. Often i didn't even spawn him, because of too less firepower, so once in a while i send him to a special operation. If it works -> great, if not, i kept that sniper off my team mates for a while at least... And i even managed to flip a beacon on my way to the sniper and additionally kill him... That was a good operation, but also a rare one I guess when my weapon levels are higher, i'll have new options.

Higher weapons levels always help Not sure if you have one or have already tried it, but I have a Galahad in my hangar to fill this role. Basically whenever there is a lot of plasma or sniping in the field, I'll pull it out. And that's generally the only reason I'll use it. It's often 4th or 5th out of my hangar because it's naturally more beneficial later in games, on top of only being really useful when the field is plasma-heavy. It's also not bad at capping late beacons, so I believe in the current rocket meta, it fills that role better than a Gareth. If you've been around the forums for a long time, you'll understand how much it pains me to say that
