Anyone else having fun killing all the new Leeches running around? It’s actually an easy bot to deal with when not backed by the Pay to Overcome Skill Deficiency super set of maxed modules skills, spamming ?meow? Save and maxed Last Stand.
Sure, the whales are still out there with their hangers full of Leeches sporting the “I Buy My Wins” bumper stickers, but all these new ones are a refreshing change.
edit - Mine isn’t even on display any more and will gather dust at level 1 until I need the silver.

I run mine lvl 6 sometimes, with punishers. I get wrecked in a second lol. It's a challenge to play it, though I don't like it much to level it any further atm. It does feel good to take out a whale Leech you're describing up there with my low lvl one, just because that guy was so ?rooster?y and just rushed me with his ability on without paying attention to mine. Have a taste of your own ?dookie? ?bum-bum?!

I agree...of late, I have killed many leeches, esp. with T Falcon......
Against my 9/10 hangar, any MK2 hangar melts me in seconds, so good for them. But, even MK2 leech can be erased.....but, there are usually a few other MK2 reds around a leech, which prevents me from staying alive to get it.
Only a fool, or cheater, will roll leech out by itself. It really is a needy little 「cotton headed ninny muggins」!

Give it time. They will eventually become highly leveled and piloted competently and then they will be a real problem for the game. Remember the Christmas event dash bot prizes? We all had fun taking them out early on in our Griffins, Galahads and Carnages until the dash bots leveled up made our old bots extinct.

I’m one! Mine is L7 now, I don’t have all the module specials, but *do* have Storms and Coronas.
Thing has a bite - really shows it off, too, when you can take the damage you get while showing off.
This damn thing being everywhere, learning to pilot one seems like the only way to discover its weak points - and thereby learn how to defeat it. It’s sobering to realize how deadly Spectre would be if It had DR...

You are completely right. Leech isn’t OP at all, it’s overhyped. Most F2P players (myself included) who run their hangers around lvl 9-10 will never be able to make the leech as strong as the OP whales do. In fact, at lvl 9-10, the leech is even less useful than an Ares or Ao Jun. After Ravana gets released the whales will have their new bot to focus on and we’ll be crying for a Ravana nerf the same way everyone is asking for a Leech nerf. Nerf pay to win instead...

I'm getting a fourth Pulsar for my Christmas present Quantum Radar Leech.
I think that is going to be one evil bot, esp. if I'll have the discipline not to close distance. If a red gets too close for comfort, it's getting Leeched.
The monkey skullheads are grinning.

It’s funny because most whales never drop their Titans so they don’t know what they’re capable of. I’ve had so many Leeches with high level Last Stands run within 100m of my Arthur...

Ya know, rather than respond to your Leech question, I feel compelled to comment on the frequent bashing you do of players who pay. You are a “trusted contributor” here, and I am of the opinion that a person in such a role should find ways to support the variety of players in the game, not just f2p. This forum is full of f2p, AND players who pay different amounts of $ for game content. When forum members constantly trash talk players who spend money on this hobby, it creates disharmony. It is one thing to mention someone is a whale, but when we start making derogatory comments slandering people as ?kitty cats? and no-skill pay to win, it is not productive to the conversation or harmony of this forum. Please find ways to convey your message without including that type of slander or it just becomes yet another beat a dead horse rant to move to rants. Why can’tt people just respect there are people who pay for content and also have skills, and just play the game and have productive dialogue about gameplay? The whole subject gets exhausting.

I have two I am working on, one I WS comp convert finished, and the other from the giveaway. I won a Parasite paintjob from my free starting event box in the 5.4 update along with three Thomas Mindreads from 5.5. So I have a red and a purple leech to terrorize the battlefield with. For the purple one, I can either use two Pulsars or two Coronas, and for the red one, I can use two Yandi Coronas. So everything at least looks sexy despite the bots and the Coronas only being level 6.

I have faced some people with five maxed Leeches who had no tactical skills and whooped em. I don’t share some people derogatory view that Leech is no skill. Every piece of content requires different skills to apply with good tactical choices. Sure, some content, specifically the phase shift assisted by all the module pilot skills makes a skirmish a dance merely of timing, but in general, content requires skills to run. But in this instance, I will say I’m a little surprised you would decline a squad offer simply because they have five Leeches, when you yourself run hangars of five duplicate bots, so you know some people just really enjoy running multiples, even Leech, bruh!

The need for harmony is pretty consistently a paradigm that authority and privilege advance to avoid hearing criticism. The reason that "whales" and top Champs get criticized as much as they do is that yes, the gaming experience against them can truly get THAT frustrating and unpleasant. And since people usually game more than they post on the forum, that would mean they are the most inconvenienced out of the playerbase. Frankly that tends to show when new members join the forum because they tend to be all piss-and-vinegar ranting about the whales. I know the whale criticism and how deragatory it can be, really gets to some folks. Folks that I like in the game and on the forum. And I sympathize, I really do. And the reason why I sympathize is I got to know them, usually through the forum. Before I joined this and got to know people I wouldn't really have cared. This forum is a mixer and that means hearing all types and letting them vent. In short DIS-harmony. But that's how we all get to know each other. Point is, I'm not trying to dismiss people's feelings but harmony is a paradigm of domination and trying to dominate the game AND the discussion is too much against too many. F2P and low-pay players can be overly insulting and miss the mark in their criticisms. But top Champs can totally be oblivious to their problems (and oblivious to the level of their obliviousness). I have definitely seen a bunch of both by people who totally didn't realize it (and yes I am definitely on that list myself). Maybe we won't learn a dang thing from it but odds are higher that we will as long as we're talking. In short, screw harmony, let's be real instead. I wouldn't want the Moderators and Trusted Contributers to only be made up of the least critical voices in the community. Seems like a recipe to shrink the appeal of the forum to most players, rather than expand it.

The moderators here value differences of opinion, the people?s’ right to express themselves, and having a place to commiserate. However, there is a line. It is not about domination here, it is about two things: respecting each other, and promoting a productive dialogue. Without that simple baseline, the forum becomes bogged down in excessive toxicity instead of valuable dialogue that enhances the game experience. Without mutual respect, certain people are made to feel unwelcome here or that they will constantly be attacked for their way of approaching the game. So in order to establish a culture of respect and productive dialogue, we are increasingly moving slander and anti-content anti-Pixonic anti-pay threads to Rants, where they belong. I will sign off with an example: if someone creates a thread calling people no-skill ?kitty cats? for using content that kills people from beyond the range of most weapons, we will move that to Rants; whereas if they were determined to discover countermeasures to the longer range weapons and share that, we would have productive dialogue befitting sections outside the Rant section. General Discussion and Tips & Advice is for productive game dialogue, not ranting or slandering other players; that’s what Rants is for. This forum exists for the War Robots Community, not just f2p players, so it is everyone’s responsibility here to respect everyone in this community, including players who pay to enjoy game content.

I don't feel like I misunderstood. If it was about this should be in Rants then you would have just moved it to Rants and posted a note to that effect. Instead you wrote about the OP's "Trusted Contributor" status and that it is somehow incompatible with some of his posts. The takeaway was that he should modify what he wrote, not that he had posted it in the wrong section. Add in the harmony stuff and the repeated use of the word "slander" it definitely seems like you just want it to stop being said. Especially since the "no-skill" thing seems like your pet peeve and the counterexample you gave seems like your thread on Plasma Ao Mings which I remember not liking tbh as it spent a lot of time talking about how people without effective counters were "butthurt" and "whiners." I mean I am not trying to overly get in your face here (I did write that whole big previous post on how I sympathize about the harshness of all the criticism). But I think you made a retreat to a safer rhetorical position that was not what you were originally saying. If you want to argue with OP go for it, but yes someone can take issue with parts of that and start arguing with you (in this case me although I think I am arguing pretty nicely). Frankly it's all one big glass house, and I think admitting to ourselves that we all occasionally throw rocks, and all can be dense, and lacking in others' perspective is better than thinking the problem lies with just one segment of the playerbase.

Earlier today some random invited me to pair up with him, I checked his hangar...5 Leeches He just wanted to relive beholding your epicness and probably develop some impetus to play some stuff that requires more skill. ? beholding my epicness. ??. Gotta admit I’m a bit critical of players gear. When I see a dude with 5 maxed leeches with maxed pilots, and he has just a few thousand victories, that’s all I really have to know about his experience in this game. I know that I go against the grain more than most, and that def affects my perceptions of what others are doing. To each his own, but I don’t identify. IMO leeches are just the latest crutch bot on the scene, I don’t see any relation to my preference/affliction for 5 bot collections though, all my bots are FUN and challenging to drive, they require a lot of care and intensity to survive in the field. Leeches...nope. Any experienced pilot will excel in a leech, even lesser experienced guys will. I respect ability and skill, it’s almost impossible to display ability and skill in a leech IMO.
