Got a question about Leeches. I’m not impressed with mine at lvl 9. Is the leech one of those bots that need to be highly leaved to enjoy? I run pulsars and try to keep my distance but it just seems to melt, even with the damage resistance. I’m having more success with my with my Ghost Lance, Tyr and Hades. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I've found that as with any other bot at lower levels, survive-ability is due to timing. I just finished getting mine to 10. I've put off maxing it out 'cause I'm not sure whether I'll keep it. You can't go head-to-head with other Leeches and survive (most are likely highly-leveled) and once your ability runs out you're vulnerable. Maybe that's why I see everyone using Phase Shift (I hate that Module). I hide until my ability is ready, dash out and take a few scalps and try to hide until the ability replenishes. Sometimes I can get lucky and switch targets once or twice before I get killed. I run Corona/Storm so I have to get in close. I'm building Pulsars for a second Leech. I'd imagine keeping your distance can be helpful too.

Mine's at L9 and I get a good amount of serious kill streaks with it. I don't run Phase Shift on it unless in squad, just basic healing (20pc version). I alternate having Last Stand on it though. It definitely can melt fast without it, but it's more fun to play.
IMO, Leech doesn't seem to do that well as a midranger. I've tried a partial 2 Pulsar/2 Corona build and I wasn't impressed. Leech is a hunter which is why shotguns work best. It can clipped pretty quick out of cover so paradoxically it is better to get up close and personal, with your eyes always on the enemy. Kinda like a Strider, if you're always moving, then it's harder for folks to get the drop on you and lock you down while your ability is recharging.

Pix used to sell top meta bots out of the box with only levelling needed. Now besides levelling you have to pay for pilots, pilot skills, modules and PCs to maximise the benefit from running the bot. They sort of all come together to make the bot truly OP. Look at the Ares as an example. It had a top speed of 60kmp and it ran around faster with the shield on (out of the box). The leech reaches that speed if you whack on road hog and for increased speed during ability you need to have Thomas.
I reckon the bot comes alive at L10 as most things do in War Robots. A level 10 leech without bling is not a brawler because highly levelled leeches will rip you apart. At best you need to run with the pack and let someone else lead the charge. If you stay at mid range than I reckon scourges or hussars. For a good scourge leech you will need mk2 maxed scourges, Adrian, two or three Thermonuclear Reactor, road hog, mechanic and the healing module or phase shift.
If you brawl nothing beats coronas atm.
edit: if you dont have at least a few leveled scourges, scourges are probably not the way to go. Leveling 4 scourges probably cost more than maxing 4 storms and maxing your leech.

In champion and probably master:
At Mk1 high levels then it's best to run with scourges and support your teammates. Use the ability as a defensive tactic. To use it as knife fighter, then you gotta go storm or corona, everything maxed or close to it. Last stand, high level pilot, AC, BB, Thermonuclear Reactor, Heavy Armor Kit modules are critical as well.
In expert and below:
It should be ok running with level 11 to 12 mk1 shotguns, average to above average pilot, maxed standard modules.

3 level 9 leeches in my hangar... got em all through luck and component conversion. Run storms and last stand. Level 1 last stand / level 9 leech / level 10 storms = mass destruction x 3

For me, if a bot isn't playable at L9 without premium add ons, it's not worth playing. That's why I shelved my L9 Fenrir. I'm just not willing to put any more resources into it.
My L9 Leech has L8 Storms with the sharpshooter skill. I try running it the way I would run a Thunder Carnage. Quietly get into position and bam, come out with ability and quad shotguns. It's not a bot killer by any means. I still get more kills with just about any other of my bots. But, it's a nice change in tactics for me as I usually play stealth ambush or flank support.
Scourges is a good build for lower level Leeches. Corner shoot and keep your distance until you get a sure kill opportunity.

I use Pulsar build and it is deadly, but you need to make good tactical decisions about positioning, timing strikes, and ideally lingering around the 550-600m range.
It is also helpful in certain situations to stagger your shots so that you get a constant rate of fire going. The result is that even if you are closed on you will have continuous shots hitting your enemy.
For Pulsar Leech I run Last Stand and two TNRs. If you don’t have gold modules, max out three NRs or two NRs and one AK. If you find you keep dying and have a hard time maintaining good positioning for combat longevity, the put two maxed Armor Kits and one maxed Nuclear Reactor.
Leech is a strong brawler too, but right now it is necessary to beware of Titans because their weapons ignore your damage resistance. Also beware of Vipers, as their DoT also ignores the damage resistance of Leech.

mines sitting at lvl. 6 and I freaking love the thing! I use it with tulumbas and a corona while I build the other three in workshop.

"Herp derp, I use a bot with a shield that redirects damage to my attacker or their teammates while negating cover, has blazing speed, and four medium weapons. Let's talk strategy and tactics." LMFAO
