Don't buy your hangar but also don't forget that War Robots isn't a non-profit. Splashing out a few bucks here and there is expected.

They fixed Ag Payouts. I don’t believe paying for premium or possibly operations are bad. However I would not currently pay for events, black markets, or any bot not obviously and blatantly the anointed meta child.
Pixonic does not support their products, and the random chests are most certainly rigged.

Up till last night, with a box every day, my event prize box rare winnings were a Sinister Cryo and a Dragon Marquess. From the $4.99 for 500 snowflake deal, I got 1500 PCs, 300 Au, 500 - 1000 Phantom comps (I forget which), a Freedom Avalanche, and a Yandi Corona. Don't tell me that was random. The real trick to this game is to learn to be mostly content with your current equipment and level it up to unlock its potential, only dropping paltry sums every now and then. My battle is that while $$$ and gold will buy you items, they won't make them decent. Only (a lot of) time and silver can do that. My head is full of ideas for builds I want to try (variety is the spice of life), but until leveled up, they all suck. Just remember, the more real $$$ you blow on this 「dookie」show for gear, the worse you feel down the road when you shelve that same gear in favor of something else you just acquired. As much as you may want armored paintjobs, premium modules, high level pilots with decent skills, or special edition this or that, you must remember, it usually benefits your overall experience a lot less than you think it will.

If you play an MMO like Warcraft then you spend what, 10 to 15$ a month? That would be a fair amount for War Robots imo. I spend more but I get more than that back in daily entertainment. And then I come here and talk about it with other players. So yeah, paying some is ok by me.

Wrong! The REAL trick to this game is coming to the realization that unless you spend hundreds or thousands monthly, it is impossible to keep up with Pix and the meta. At that point, one can cultivate a solid, fun hangar, deal with the occasional beatings, and decide how far to advance......so, if you can’t spent huge, then don’t spend...at least not after getting a nice hangar or two.

Is it even fun to keep up with the meta if you're a whale? These guys I see with maxed mk2 meta everything, why even play anymore at that point? Part of the thing that keeps us roped in is the pursuit of advancement. If everything is brought to you on a silver platter, where is the satisfaction? I would think after the 1000th baby seal clubbing, it would get boring.

Well gambling is gambling and the house always wins.
And as they say in Australia *gamble responsibly.
The game is entertainment. Most forms of entertainment have to be paid for to some extent. I don't pay for this game with RM I pay for it with ads and my patience. In doing that I will know I will not be at the top of the players standings but I can still play this game in lower tiers and still have fun.
I play for fun and whilst I'm doing that I accumulate in game resources to then spend on upgrades and stuff. I could pay a little like on the OP or Premium but I choose patience as it works for me and I'm happy with that.
From what I have taken from other players experiences over the years. Paying RM on the gambling aspect has only led to frustration and anger at the game.

I am confused by the poll. Is the question whether paying for this game is a good idea or that you are a dumb ?bum-bum? for paying?
My advice: If you're new to then game and feeling burned, use that feeling, and just switch to free play for a while and get a better feel for things. Pixo is kinda shady, you want to get a better sense of how they operate before you plunk down RM. Also, the way it works with them is that the LESS you spend, the MORE you get offered good deals. So taking a break from spending actually pays off. While your amount of playtime affects what results you can get without spending, you can enjoy this game without spending a dime. If you do spend, it doesn't take a lot of money to get good results. You just have to be strategic.
Myself, I never buy keys/tokens for loot boxes. I played a year f2p and then a second year only buying 600Au for 99¢ when the 500Au bonus task came up. We're coming up on the end of year 3 for me and this time around I generally bought 600Au whenever it became available, got a few premiuma that we're usually on sale (personally I think premium deals are the best value in the game), and I did the first Operations Pass. I got a ton of mileage out of just those purchases combined with a lot of griding that I would have done anyway. From just that my hangar is at a point where I could stop spending entirely and be happy.

Most of us are ok with a nice climax, then going to sleep. I’m glad I’m poor, lol!

But I don't really get it for solo play either and some folks are definitely all about solo matches. It can be fun to go on a tear, earn some resources, not feel like you're getting annihilated every game, but at a certain point it gets boring. Especially if someone is just spamming power cells all the time. You'd think they'd at least switch up their hangars from time to time and play weirder bots/weapon combos or something...

If you are a paying player, things like heavily Discounted Black Market keys seem a good deal. Along with randomly winning a lot of silver and gold, you can get a lot of meta weapons (including Coronas and Pulsars) and meta bots from Gold Chests and Superchests. Operations Pass and Premium are two of the most worthy purchases. If you have 5,000 gold and 160,000,000 silver, buying a Last Stand and upgrading it to Level 4 seems good. Also, Anticontrol is worth putting on almost any bot. Getting 5 regular pilots to Level 70 and changing their skills as you change your top bots seems competitively economical. Legendary pilots are a lot more premium, as they not only have their skill linked to their bot (other than all-weapon-boosting Adrian Chong and 800m+ weapon boosting Basil), but deprive you of one extra regular skill that you could otherwise choose yourself (regular skills can be more useful than some Legendary skills too). Bringing your meta bots to Level 9 and putting Punishers / Punisher Ts / Avengers on your brawlers and getting them all to Level 12 MK2 seems very economical. Keeping a single well groomed 5 bot hangar (and not multiple hangars with dozens of bots) and swapping your best weapons amongst bots seems the most economical for enjoyable competitive play. And most importantly for me, buying seems to give me a huge depression-breaking buzz. You can also hang out with YouTubers such as Manni and his hyperactivity for even more buzz. I went for 31boxes so far And got only a Blazer, a Avalanche, a Marquess, a Fenir, 2 Loki skins and all other were trash Am I stupid paying for this game? I am new to this game, is this prize winning chance stupid or am I the one being unlucky? Fenrir is currently a top meta bot. Blaze is a good 350m splash weapon but I'm not experienced with flamethrowers. I finally sold my Avalanches and Marquesses after trying them, doing calculations, watching a Level 12 MK2 Avalanche Behemoth on YouTube, and admitting what I thought of their battle performance when compared to other weapons I owned.

I don't think anything else worth real money except premium and OP (if you can get far enough). If you are casual gamer, nothing worth purchasing may be except $1 = 700Au + 500Au deal.

Yes,,,you are a dumb azz.....join the 500 club today! It’s not too late!! What's the 500 club? Founder and CEO @earlcampbell can explain it so much better than I....however, once committed to withholding funds to Pix, after some time one is offered 500 “free” gold if one makes any purchase....thus, giving Pix $$$. The reason(s) for joining the 500 club varies, but in a nutshell involves refusing to financially supporting the game devs based upon their disrespect for the customers and shady, if not outright illegal, business practices. Joining the 500 club is a personal decision, and just plain and simple it is the right thing to do.

If you spend a fair amount of time on this game, then spending some money on it too is acceptable since time = money IMHO. Now what you buy in this game matters a lot though as there are several places that spending just is not worth it. I try not to buy chances at getting things but rather on materials that will for sure get me what I want. Good Au deals are important.
Focus on getting a bot you really like playing upgraded to like MK2 level 4. Then, be willing to get and fully upgrade a couple of premium modules like Last Stand and either a Heavy Armor Kit or Thermonuclear Reactor depending on which bot you chose to upgrade. Finally, get an Anti-control but don't worry about upgrading that as it works well at level 1.
I realize that the initial cost and leveling are very expensive and you probably have so many other weapons and bots collecting in you hanger and man, they are much cheaper to upgrade at their lower levels but resist the temptation to upgrade a bunch of things to level 9 or 10. Get yourself a real fighter going since it will be these upgraded bots that will get you the needed damage and other stats to get the needed Honor points and Ag payouts for further upgrades. A 5 bot hanger with level 9 or 10 stuff often gets pushed to Champions League where they are pushed around a lot and do not get much resource return from time played.
So for efficiency, get the good stuff and level it as soon as possible. Premium modules don't go out of style and will have a use in every battle you play from here on out.

I am new to this game, is this prize winning chance stupid or am I the one being unlucky? If you are brand new to the game, I would say spending $$$ Is not the smartest thing to do. I have run countless Smurf accounts and resources come very quickly as you work your way to level 30. Saving those resources is key. Take your time unlocking more than 3 hanger slots. Do not waste resources upgrading those Zenits and Noricums. I know everyone in lower leagues use them, but they are worthless. Use Punishers and upgrade them. They are cheap and will get you great damage, which will lead to more silver. Also, grab beacons. While most in lower leagues camp out, if you grab just 3 beacons a game, you will be top beacon getter and will get gold and keys for it. I have found that silver crates, the 100 key crates, are the best crates at the lower leagues. They will freely give you good weapons that you can use until you can workshop better ones. But do not spend money on anything other than premium and maybe operations pass. If you do, you will rise in ranks way too fast and get into Master League and even Champ League way before you are ready. If that happens, you will be fodder for more experienced players. The game will then turn to ?dookie? for you. Best bots for lower leagues......Leo. Armed with either Punishers or Pinatas, this bot takes punishment and dishes it out. It is a cheap bot too. You can keep it at level 6 for quite some time. This will allow you to upgrade your weapons. My last Smurf, I was lucky enough to win some magnums. These things tear through lower leagues and are very undervalued in higher leagues.

But consider following points: 1. Do you think you'll get the enjoyment you hoped for out of the expenditure? 2. Did you spend more than you wanted? Did company trick you into spending more or did you stick to your budget? 3. Were you fully aware of the winning odds when you played the loot box mini game? 4. Big picture: when you play games would you rather play flat fee for a game or have open-ended pay structure where you can give yourself an advantage with unlimited spending? Regardless how you feel about it, you just "voted" for second model with your money.
