They beckon me, but are they worth it? My Exo Strider has been pestering me to dump the Gusts and go Rime. Thoughts? Opinions? Anecdotes?

They pair well with the exodus because it is normally a hard hitter but with the extra damage it is really powerful, also lets you take on resistance bots like the fen more easily, but really really bad in sustained combat, so the basics of rockets. It's one build I my self am considering if I grab another rime

I’ve been contemplating the same thing as I have that same setup on one of my Striders. That gust nerf really took the punch out of that setup.
My Rime is in the process of leveling up to 7 and should be done by tomorrow. I’ll take it out for a spin and report back.

IMO, the cyro weapons are pretty darn good. It would be ok by me to get some more during the Christmas event. I recommend these......also, a couple of the mediums on your Rog, with your skills! Damn!

I've been thinking of trying Exodus/Rime Hades too, but my levels are L9 for Exodus and L8 for Rimes, and as others have said, rockets don't well in sustained combat. I tend to run my Hades like a fast(ish) brawler, so sustained combat is a must.

Sold! Leveling is underway, thx much for the fast feedback everyone.
I do miss administering the full rocket facials, can I assume they reload at least a bit faster than the ancient piñata?

Actually, they reload SLIGHTLY slower but they hold way more rockets (Pinata - 17, Rime - 35)

Yeah, agreed, I'd much rather have the ability to hit from medium close (400-ish meters) range on a Hades. The ability weapon is better suited for that range, too.
This is especially true with all of the fast bots taking over... Phantom, Leech (especially with its Legendary Pilot equipped), Ao Jun, etc., and the Close Range tanks that seem to be everywhere I want to be nowadays... Hades needs a bit of breathing room, in my experience.
Now... Koalabear might have the lock on how to CQB with it so I am not going to say he's wrong for doing so... and I am the last person to tell someone that they are doing it wrong. More of an "in general" statement. Hell... I run Avenger + Puns on mine... #justleadhosethings ... gotta have at least one in my hangar and the Hades drew the short straw on that configuration .

Anecdote - cryogenic weapons have a devastating impact on my Phantom. So much so that I am planning Rime Exodus Strider to help pacify Phantom mobility

Yes....freeze then shatter, shoties do this well. Something hard hitting, good DPS works well.
I have frozen a dragon mid flight and dropped it with my Fenrir, freezing is kind like Deathmark.....anyone hits the popsicle does 20% more damage.
Good times

Although I was one of the lucky ones that got 2 rimes early in the event and saw they were bugged for upgrades. I Mk2 level 12'd them in a day. And yeah you've got to somewhat hit n run. But the rimes reload pretty quick. What's nice too is the built in weapon hits that much harder with the target frozen.

I feel comfortable saying it's a death button 2.0. My exodus rime hades puts everything in last stand except burliest tanks like maxed out invaders and fenrirs. And ofc t-fals. But everything else it's frozen solid trying figure out 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 just hit them that hard.

I'm wanting to Cryo too. New wave and greatly improved Pinata/Orkan/Exodus. I might need something good for 300m hit and runs, like Strider (Glacier/Rimes) or Phantom (Cryo/Rimes).
I've been trying Level 1 Sinister Cryo/Rimes on my Mender to good effect (I'm still inexperienced at Death Button builds), but I'm back on a more clinically effective team support healer (and kamakaze at worst) setup again with 500m Halos/600m Pulsar.
Waiting for the non-Sinister versions before having fun.

i run 2 Rimes on my Rayker combined with Avenger. It's a really fun build. Rimes and Glance combo are crippling to anything without PS, slowing the target down, reducing it's DR and it's weapon power, gives me time to dance around and shread them to bits with Avenger. This is probably the best 1v1 setup i have ever played, no kidding. Rimes are more in Ork division than in Pinata power wise one IMO, mine are lvl 5 and 7, and they seem OP. And they do green mist

The light Rime seems to have the same burst damage as a medium Orkan, but slightly faster unload and reload times PLUS the ability to freeze too.
The Medium Cryo seems to be similar to the light Rime, with around 20% difference in damage output.
The Heavy Glacier hits around twice (190% / 238%) as hard as a Cryo / Rime, but otherwise shares exactly the same rocket count, unload and reload times.
Rime/Cryo/Glacier all seem to unload/reload at faster than Orkan speed and are exactly synchronised to each other, rocket-for-rocket - unlike the Pinata/Orkan/Exodus series.
4.3 second burst with a 17 second recharge.

I think they will perform best when paired with a sustained damage weapon like an Avenger as you can take advantage of the freeze boost. I got 4 in the event and had leveled them to L6 and has them all on a Blitz. The whole set up was low levelled but a hell of a lot of fun. Really good ambush support bot. Run in freeze and let my blue buddies enjoy the freeze as I would either run back or dance about in the joy. Jeez it was a good fun build.

These are burst values per cycle at lv8
Pinata 20k (slightly shorter reload) Rime 30k
Orkan 33k (slightly longer reload) Cryo 39k
Exodus 77k (slightly longer reload) Glacier 74k

Totally worth it.
In my Smurf account I have a Galahad with ONE RIME on it -it's only at level 7! - yet I can freeze Falcons and do massive damage to them. If I have even one teammate helping me the Falcon goes down.

I did try Exodus/Rime briefly yesterday and it's a no go for me. I went back to Leadhose and Taser.

A Level 4 set of Rime/Sinister Rime/Cryo/Sinister Cryo aren't doing enough damage in Champion League yet (but again, they're at Level 4). But man do they look pretty. They can colour up the map with splashes of colour (Red, Blue, Green and White).

These are burst values per cycle at lv8 Pinata 20k (slightly shorter reload) Rime 30k Orkan 33k (slightly longer reload) Cryo 39k Exodus 77k (slightly longer reload) Glacier 74k This isn't counting the damage accumulation, right? A fully frozen target takes 20% more damage, with 3 cryo weapons the target is typically frozen within 1 second.
