Cheers
I had stopped playing War Robots some time after the Raven was released. Pilots are new and I'm too busy to spend three days reading about all changes and new gear during the past updates. I just need to know how this works...how many pilots do I need? It is best to have a pilot for each and every single bot, right?
Cheers to everyone

Yes, pilots for each bot but after that the answer very strongly depends on how much you play and if you are F2P, minnow, dolphin or a whale.

Cheers to everyone Many pilot skills are approximately the benefit of a Premium module, but for much less gold. If you want to save gold in the long run, it is best to get higher ranked (e.g. Sergeant or better) pilots that are still level 1, this will save you about 20% gold in the long run. Start with 1 pilot and level it to Sarge (3rd promotion). You may need 2 leveled up before you are offered Sergeant pilots. DO NOT get high level pilots, that is a waste of gold. A lot of changes since Pilots were introduced. Most of it bad, but I actually like the pilot feature.

Do not buy any Legendary pilot except Adrian as long term investment. But if you get any other Legendary Pilot for free, use them and my personal advise is limit the promotion until sergeant (max). That 3 skills will do for most bots.
Some other bots like Fenrir, Bulwark, or any aegis/ancile shield/physical shield may require more skills to unlock (to get full potential from pilot skills)
Some bots require minimal skill or none. In example Avenger Ao Jun. 2 skills on this bots are just enough. (avenger shot grouping + armor expert or any other you think benefit the most). Even without pilot, Ao Jun will do just fine.

Minimum 5 pilots, i would go further and say maximum 5 pilots if you can restrain yourself. Cheaper to recalibrate for the bot flavor of the month than to upgrade for every bot.
