I've got 2 Sinister Rime and I am upgrading a T-Rex Stalker to put them on. I am Master 3/Expert 1. I am also upgrading a Vityaz to use, likely with my Sinister Glacier because it's the closest matching paint scheme, and the Vityaz is probably the coolest(/most proper) looking mech in the game.
So, the question is, how do you make the most out of a 'bot that, from almost all criteria, is obsolete? I've got a Pursuer, so the only possible (slim) competitive advantage that a Stalker may have is the profile. Who knows though, players may give me points for looking cool and avoid hurting the 'bot. And there are too many 'bots that are straight upgrades to the Vityaz. Positioning of the heavy weapon on the Vityaz may give it some unique advantages. It also gets a high density of toughness pilot skills.
Anybody with experience on what tactics and skills I need to utilize/practice to make the Stalker/Vityaz punch above their stats?
What other 'bots are there that have straight upgrades that players may rather stick with for non-cost/playability reasons? Griffin<Raven, Cossack<Rogatka, Natasha<Behemoth come to mind.

If you really want to use them then you should do a few things
Level them up
Get the weapons you need
-For the stalker you should also grab deft survivor as a pilot skill
-For the vityaz you should grab both the the armor expert skills (yes there are 2 for him) if it is still available.
Good luck and hope you can do good even though they are not the recommended bots!

Stalker is obsolete robot/ It's much better to use Pursuer or Loki Stalker is not meta for sure, but it's far from obsolete. Stalker is one of the few bots that has max speed (66) starting at level 1, so make it a really good capper in low to mid league. Once in a while I still see people using Stalker having fun in Champ League. If you have a pair of Halo, try to put them onto the Stalker and you'll know what I'm talking about. |

Yes yes yes, OP I second the Vitz suggestion...and it should be still there to choose... the 2nd one for the Golem is still shown as available for the 1 unleveled Golem I still have and my maxed Golem for sho has both armor skills. It can't win a game but having that much additional Health is almost the only way to play it now. |

A lv10 Vityaz costs little more than 10M Ag and has 177,600k HP. With Ad speedups it would take a day or 2 to level. It can also get cautious pilot for 15% health at the cost of 7.5% speed (not as good as tough guy which it doesn't get). But stack that with basic health skill and you're getting up there.
For weapons it's probably viper or avenger with shredders.
That said it's really just a Hades that rolls a little slower, but has more health, at the cost of the ability. And it's a lot cheaper.
Rogatka is just as cheap to level as Vityaz, but it costs 1500 Au. I have punishers and wonder worker on mine, and that skill alone has shown its potential. Everybody says ghost this ghost that, I couldn't live without jump, and the healing is icing on the cake.
I don't really see anything else working in tier 1 higher up the leagues. Patton is severely outclassed. I have one in one of my 5 hangars for filler while workshop builds, it has gekkos and does a little something, but it doesn't get active modules. Jesse is severely outclassed even with aphids (vs aerial vortex builds). Gepard is outclassed by Bolt, and bolt isn't very good even if it's tier 1, it costs 1k Au. Stalker is severely under powered compared to pursuer. Gareth might have potential with igniter/blaze or corona/halo but don't get caught by splash.

Honestly 12mk2 any legacy bot.
Remember Pix doesn't want you to be playing those bots at this level and above but damn them..... Damn them to hell.
Buddy up and work as a pair.
Play them for a solid month before giving up so you learn their weaknesses.
You might want to learn to play as more of a support bot then a brawler.
Vityaz is great as a Tesla build. Calamity Spark. Gives some distance and causes more damage when caught closer. Get guidance skill for that.
I haven't run a stalker for ages but it should would work great with those rimes. Run in, stealth, unload and run away. Do that with a buddy and you've annoyed the crap out of a red.

After reading this thread the other day I decided to put my Mk1 L4 Vityaz in my hanger and take it out for a spin. I only played with it a few times in the past as I was kind of Meh about it. So I put a Dragoon and a pair of Marquees on it and scored three kills in the first outing. Two of which were on half life Bots but a kill is a kill. It is still in my hanger and will be at Mk1 L9 in a few hours.  It’s a cheep date and easy to play. |

@ Destructor - Yeah, the 2500 paint job. It hurt, too, but . . .  @ milty72 - Pixonic should make better looking new bots if they don't want us to be playing these. Pilot skills I'd aim for each: Vityaz - 15% armor, 10% armor, mechanic, cautious (15% armor), road hog. Think this would be first 4, in order. Stalker - wonderworker, road hog, spy, deft survivor, and the 25% longer, recharge faster, recharge at 50% module abilities (probably for phase shift). |

I run a strider with this same setup, if you like the setup enough and want a competitive version then try strider, hope you get many a kill with that one though! |

I moved my goons over to my rayker since it doesn't have any specific weapons and I wanted to play with it, worked wonders so it seems this setup works on low health bots. |
