I got one from each recent event and I really don’t know if it’s worth it. Obviously I don’t have to level up a third exodus for when I want to run an exodus fury, so maybe I will level that heavy freeze weapon, glacier or cryo whatever it’s called.
But that avalanche, I really don’t see any use for it. I could level it up for when I run a tulumbas lancelot, but I already have two mk2 tridents. Anyone got any thoughts on whether avalanche and glacier are worth upgrading? Or are they just a straight pass?

I'd go with the Glacier esp if you're thinking of pairing with Exodus. I have a couple avalanches and I've held off on leveling them because I've got friends that mk2'd them and don't even use them. Not to mention, you never see them in use on the battlefield. That's usually a good sign not to spend a bunch of resources on an item.
I've heard the Glacier is good paired with another one, and I've heard it's good to compliment other weapons. Either way I've heard it's effective. I haven't leveled mine because my upgrade queue is overbooked.

I’ve sold two avalanches. I think they were a ‘give-away’ weapon from this summer’s event; not intended to be meta-influencing. I could be wrong, but as another’s mentioned, you rarely see them on the battlefield. That tells us something.

Another vote for Glacier. I also won one of em and I’ve been pouring vids all over it. Level 10 now and I’ll move to my main hanger on Friday. I want to finish the month with my current hanger before I totally mix it up.
Classic Falcon (w Ember wings) and Strider will both get their turn to try it out.

Avalanches are very situational imo. I used them on maps where bots usuaally hide a .ot while reloading etc. I have two. Thyey do a kind of continuous fire, though not lime the full burst. And they do good splash damage. Dont use em now as my bot hardpoints are full of Avengers etc.

Yes but I think they are more suited as a support weapon so others can then come in and blast the tanks away unless you happen to have multiples of these weapons at mk2 lvl12. I'm thinking that they are probably better suited to slow faster bots down before they can get in your face or into your home spawn area as anti control does not stop the freeze effect. They suffer from the same problems (maybe slightly less due to faster reload) as the Exodus and even the once mighty Orkan as in once you've blown your wad of rockets there is just not enough sustained firepower to hurt bots that use healing and DR |

I run twin level 12 exodus on my bully and just won a glacier. I thought, ah what the heck I’ll give it a try. Replaced one exodus with a level 5 glacier. No pun intended, but Cool! Did good damage. Slowed bots down. And had that damage multiplier thingy happen once the snowflake fills up. That’s when the majic happens. ? Can’t wait till it is upgraded more. |

Go for Glacier.
Freeze weps is just like an additional damage module. When in effect, you have 5 secs to do more damage on your target.
It's like a death mark module or pilot skills extra damage for 5 secs after killing an enemy.

Glacier. It looks inferior on paper to the Exodus but it is superior. It has a high fire rate and the cryo damage once activated is devastating to tanks.

How are you going to play an Exodus Fury? I am interested too...just afraid of being wipe the F out. I have run a ember furry regularly for the past two months. It’s really not bad at all, add some speed skills and it’s fast enough to kinda brawl. The three heavies really do some serious damage, so if I stick behind blues with tankier bots, we synergize and make a better team than alone. It’s good for at least a few minutes of flaming glory. ? |

Glacier paired with some other weapon which can fire continually works really well (shotguns, scourge etc.). You get the freeze effect, increased damage and good burst damage which must be continued with other weapons.
I also like the faster reload compared to exodus.

I got splashed to death while under cover by a Weyland with dual Avalanches from Hangar X. It's definitely not worthless.
I won a Glacier too, but I'm really torn between keeping it just to keep it (I don't know if I'd ever really use it) or getting the silver out of it.

I replaced one of the support exodus on my t-falcon, and needless to say, I switched its pilot. Fun is back in my falcon play again. In wiki numbers, glacier does not seem to be grossly OP than exodus, but in battlefield, it felt better with its lower cooldown time, higher rockets count, more forgiving for misses, and freezing effect. |

I've been trying out the glacier on my Strider paired with Blazes. Have it going to 9 right now but I've been happy with it and like it with the flamethrower. I might work on some of the igniters I have though to use with it after i look at the cycle time on the Blaze vs. Igniter. The damage is nice but the Strider is a bit squishy to brawl with it. You need to be sure you aren't the primary target or plan out your ambush. I'm thinking Lance or Inqui (which I've taken out for a while now but may add back in just to brawl with the Glacier). Might try the Glaciers with Corona's as well (thoughts?), could be nasty but we'll see I guess.

Usually that would have been painful but not fatal. |

Yes, my Traditionalist went down quick to an Ao Jun with Glaciers that had support from an Ares. Usually that would have been painful but not fatal. I have slightly changed my feelings towards these weapons. I have gotten my Glacier to lvl 12 now and I am starting to like it more and more as a hit and run/ambush weapon. Still only really successful in 1 on 1 situations or if others are there to help take advantage of a frozen opponent but they are fun to use none the less. |

Glacier is like halo vs old gust, halo has an extra use locking down but gust has enough damage to over take that advantage. Glaciers damage is close to the exodus but the exodus still has enough to overcome the bonus of the freezing effect. |

I have one Avalanche at L9 and am not too impressed with the damage. I do like the speedy reload though. I just kicked off an Avalanche in the WS. I guess I need to see if 3 on a Falcon will be as good as I hope it will be!

Go Glacier. I just put one on my Falcon along with an Exodus along with Avenger as the main weapon. Works pretty well even at Mk1 levels.
