Good to see that they're finally doing original designs. I still see a Macross/Robotech Destroid in that post though! On the left, looks like an Archer mech, which was ripped straight from Macross/Robotech. Oh wait, on the far right, I see a Rifleman or it's newer counterpart the Jaegermech. God, I can't believe I still remember this stuff!
If they ever came out with a Battletech game for my phone, I would probably drop War Robots like a hot potato and scoot over. If it sucks, then I'd come back.

I know the Locust has a medium laser up front and is another that was ripped from other shows/games. I just can't remember which. The Jenner had a SRM4 up top...but I don't know if it was an original Battletech design or ripped.

God for me to see don't know who or what the heck Battletech is, makes me facepalm and weep.
But it can't be helped. Battletech would have been what War Robots is for your '80s granddads that don't have a smartphone but they have at least a table, and a board game for friends to gather around. All they know about giant robots is some Japanese cartoon imported and dubbed into their TV.

Since this is the PC version of a board game, this is also a turn based strategy and tactics game.
If you want a game where one team of mechs bashes another team in real time shoot them up, one that is set within the Battletech franchise, go check out Mechwarrior Online.

Man, the MWO vids all looks so fantastic. But, when I tried, I could not play it properly. There were so many controls! I guess my days of sitting in the cockpit of a Battlemech are over. War Robots is a poor substitute but at least I can play it.

Maybe someday in the future the devs might want a mobile version. The fact the game already uses Unity Engine --- like War Robots ---- is already a step in the right direction.

War Robots is a poor substitute but at least I can play it. Been playing this game for years, and this year I may have played my last few and final matches on MWO. The game is in its twilight, the population is declining, and there hasn't been any meaningful updates to it. Might be better to consider Mechwarrior 5 which is coming on the Epic store for the PC. However its story mode and coop only, at least for its initial version, and I cannot guarantee it will have PvP in the future.

Using only those 20s Not sure if you're being facetious here or not, but he's talking about Personal Computers! Me, I don't have a desktop anymore. I have a Macbook for my personal use and it's not really config'ed to play games. My other machines consist of an older Chromebook and a (almost) netbook where I swapped out Windows 10 for Ubuntu Mate. Even if I did have a gaming desktop (helped my son build his over the summer), I don't have enough time to sit in front of it to play games. I have vague plans to hook up my old Xbox 360 and replay some old favs, but I doubt I'll go through with it. Too much work to set up, and you never really can go back. Besides, whatever free time I have left at the end of the day is spent with the Mrs. Side note. I saw Titanfall 2 for $4 at Dollarama last night for Xbox One. I was very tempted as this game was like $90 when it first came out. The back of the box says it's got a campaign mode, unlike the original Titanfall. Anyone play Titanfall 2? I might be tempted to hook up my son's Xbox One (since he isn't using it) and play it if the campaign is decent.

The new generation, and part of the old generation are becoming PC less. I still have my gaming ROG notebook but its been gathering dust. I use a combination of Android smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks as my main non game computing, with a PS4 and Android TV for my bedtime entertainment. I might add an Xbox One. Might.
