So when I left two years ago, I was in champion league and my equipment that could compete in that league consisted of:
-Bots
two mk2 maxed rhinos
maxed lancelot
level 10 inquisitor
level 11 fury
level 11 raijin
pursuer
hover
weapons-
three maxed dragoons
two level 10 avengers
four mk2 maxed tarans
four mk2 maxed magnums
four level 10 scourges
four storms
four maxed orkans
four maxed punisher Ts
I already know that I'm going to get stomped when i come back by all these new bots mainly because I can't put enough modules on them so I want to try updating it my hangar a bit. I know that orkans were nerfed to irrelevancy so those definitely have to be replaced. My main problem is that I don't know what to really get.
I was thinking about updating my hangar to this:
Fenrir Avenger and Punishers || Bulwark Avengers
Bulgasari Storms || Blitz with shredders
two Tyrs with tarans and magnums || two tyrs with shredders and pulsars
Nemesis corona or Ares Corona and halo
I feel like this would be a good hangar but I'm not sure. If anyone could give me some pointers please feel free to help me out

I use a plasma inquisitor still in Champions League. I kno people that use Lance and pursuer still. So I’d roll with those three for now and start with just two new bots. I would just play for a while and decide which ones you like.

If you want to be relevent quickly...
Dragoon Fury -- GOOD
Avenger Raijin -- Acceptable. Can be replaced with Bulwark or Ao Jun, but better to spend your resources elsewhere first.
Lance...still relevent. A MONSTER with "Ghost" pilot skill. Get a Calamity or Redeemer, run Calamity/Scourge or Redeemer/Taran
Inquisitor...Calamity/Scourge, Ember/Scourge are both useful, if a little underpowered in Champ. I run Ember/Scourge personally.
Rhino: replace with Tyr. Weapons transfer over directly, Bots have similar play style. Or go Ares.
Max our Basic Modules on all Bots ASAP, save your Au to get at least 3 skills on each Pilot.
Looks like an overall solid hangar even in the current Meta, if you have the skills.

Speed and magic powers infest Champions League....so skill is paramount with your hangar.
Honor points are now used to determine ones position post battle, and many things add to those.....not just raw damage anymore.
I don not have any meta magic myself, and it is tough. I would look at some weapons, such as halo, corona, pulsar, glory, and we now have medium Dragoons and Embers....lots of good weapons, expensive but nasty.
Magnums, might want to ditch those ASAP.

Unless you're willing to spend a lot of money, overhauling that hanger will take a lot of time. To start, you can still compete with that hanger: - Fury with Dragoons - Lancelot with Avenger and Punisher T - Pursuer with Magnums (go for Halo's in WS here, but you don't seem to have many light weapons) - Rhino with Scourges and... (I've seen some nice vids with Rhino's in Champions League but this would be the first bot I change, also given the light weapons that lack) - Inquisitor with Avenger and Scourges (not really ideal but I would want to mix it up instead of another complete Leadhose build) - Hover with Taran and Magnum (just because flying is fun and plasma is oldschool) I would build a healing bot first because of the honor points you can get, I like Mender better that Tyr. As for weapons some extra light weapons (I like Halo) won't hurt, they are also fairly cheap in WS. You have a head start with al the high level weapons so I wouldn't change all 5 bots since chasing the meta is often pointless these days. Since you have a lot of medium weapons and 4 of each, a Leech will be tempting but try to fight that urge  |

Hover is still ok for Champions League, ask me, I know. But there is only one viable build, and it isn’t plasma. |

I feel that Rhinos should be getting a second wind these days but you have to run them the way they were meant to be run, and that's to lead a charge. I've had Rhinos charge into battle with 2 or 3 other reds backing it up and the blues got bulldozed. On the flip side, I've seen Rhinos run solo to the centre beacon and get toasted.
Orkans are not nerfed to irrelevancy. They're still pretty powerful if used in enough numbers.
Ghost Lancelot rocks, as does Dragoon Fury. Pursuer is a great beacon capper, even if all you have for it are Gusts or Magnums. Hover is still my fave bot and I run both Taser (Scourge/Spark) and Slingshot (Vortex/Aphid). But, if you're looking for a meta counter, I would probably get either a Spectre or Raven with the Slingshot build. The Vortex Spectre can one shot kill Ares when it's shield is down and it thinks it's safe behind tall cover. Raven is almost as powerful as the Spectre with it's damage buff with jump activation and it's got twice the mobility and more HP.
Unless you like tanky bots, I would not bother with Fenrir. I just shelved my L9 Fenrir again even though I was seeing some mileage with Corona/Avenger. Until they fix the stupid bug where Ares Retribution and Ao Jun Flame bypasses it's DR, it melts like a hot knife cutting through warm butter. Bulwark is not bad but a Raijin will do you just fine for a while.

The bulg storms is the only one of those choices that I'd reconsider. It'll be ok, but another shotgun build might be more effective like a raven. You might want to mix in an Ao Jun as well. It can be workshopped and is a powerhouse. And will likely be a dominant bot for months to come. Just take the growing pains in stride because it's crazy out there (as youve probably already seen). OR Rhino killing it old school Build a Mender, Strider or Blitz |

Still with us? How are thing going? I'm still here, I was studying for midterms. I would like to thank all of you for the feedback. So it is painfully obvious that I'm gonna have to wait months to replace my hangar fully but here is my plan right now to have a decent hangar for the time being. Long read so be warned. -2 MK2 rhinos with Tarans and Shredders with an anti control module and quantum radar. My pilot skills I want to use are Adamant Gunsmith, Armor Expert, Mechanic, and Road Hog Reasoning: I'm going with this loadout because apparently shredders out damage magnums considerably. My plan is to lock the enemy down and hammer them with the tarans from a far. More of a close range support bot. I am using the anti-control module because I know that rhino needs as much mobility as it can get so I won't have to worry about getting screwed by suppression and lockdown. Fingers crossed that pixo shows the rhino some love. Or at least give it another passive module slot. -Lance with Avenger and Punisher Ts with 2 Thermonuclear reactors and Lockdown ammo My pilot skills I want to use are Sharpshooter, Armor Expert, Mechanic, and Ghost Reasoning: I want this bot to be my pseudo tank. I'm using lockdown ammo to keep the enemy from running away so I either I or my team mates can mow them down. I didn't bother going with fortifier or shield expert because from what I can tell, the shield won't last long at all in today's meta so I thought it would be a waste of a slot. -Rhino with Corona and Halo/Blaze with an anti control module and Phase shift. My pilot skills I want to use are Adamant Gunsmith, Adamant Guardian, Sharpshooter, and Adamant Road Hog Reasoning: Entire point of this bot is to get into the fight as fast as possible and get people off of the beacons. Also I need a bot to put energy shotguns on and rhino seemed to be a good choice. And for why I chose phase shift, it pretty much turns me into Sundowner from MGR -Hover with Scourge and Magnum (Note: Bot will have Pulsars later on) with two Heavy Armor Kits and Deathmark My pilot skills I want to use are Guidance Operator, Armor Expert, Mechanic, and Road Hog Reasoning: I want to use this bot to help prioritize targets for my team which is easier to do since I can fly up and spot what bot and weapons the enemy is using rather than just guessing what it is. I thought about running an Apex build (aphid/vortex) but I didn't think it would do that much damage, not to mention I would be getting really close to lockdown weapon users and Ares pilots. With the scourge I can at least brawl if the situation called for it. TLDR; I'm making baby steps to my dream hangar |

Maybe you should also find a good way to use those scourges since they have very high damage (maybe a tyr with them) also try for the fenrir like you said but with coronas because you need LD. Also, I would live to suggest either strider or mercury. Both work in meta games and are extreme fun to play. For mercury, avenger shredders and strider, well really any weapons work on him. Side note, I wouldn't try to climb ranks anymore, just play for fun! |
