Not sure this is a rant, more like a sad reckoning...
Today I had second thoughts on login in. I did it just to get my mornin fix, then the 「dookie」 show started, I just left circus matches after circus matches, I felt no joy or purpose to keep playing something so ridiculously twisted and bizarre. I think this is it...

I think about it time to time. Leaving that is. Or starting over. It felt less stressed out in the beginning. But not necessarily more fun. More simpler game then. But as all things in life, the harder it is the more rewarding. like surviving a leech attack and then sending said red to his next bot. ? take a break as Bob said. Or play skirmish. Usually that is semi balanced. At least it gives you an indication if it your bots or skills that need be “fixed”. Not sure I could put this game down for ever, no matter how upset I get. I am addicted. ? just as pix wanted.

Just take a break and don't do anything drastic. If you still don't feel like playing after a couple of months, then perhaps you really are done.

Thanks bear but...why in the world wouldn’t we just be happy to see someone just break free from this rotten nastiness?, why in the world world we try to keep someone riding along? Like this is good somehow...I know you mean good and I appreciate it but...think about it...

If it ever came down to serious contemplation of leaving, then I would switch to 6 pack league. I'm not an expert at 6pack but i'm guessing it's much more affordable, less stressful, and competitive.

I tend to waffle between War Robots, Elite: Dangerous, and a Random RTS flavor. For myself, I've had good luck with a small hanger of level 9 bots with un/under-leveled guns. In hindsight I'd have rather kept it to two bots, but 3 bots pushed me into Diamond and Diamond is plenty playable. Enjoying this game is all about expectations. If you're used to traditional leveling mechanics, this game will chew you up unless you're willing to spend unhealthy amounts of time/money.

I've been obsessed with giant robots all through my childhood. Heck, like many here, I grew up watching shows like Robotech, Grandizer, Gai King, heck even Voltron (both versions), and yes, Transformers. Now, I have a game where I can pilot giant robots and for the most part, I like the mechanics. I don't have good hand eye coordination anymore (never really did), so I can't really play games like Fortnite or PUBG. Do I like all the changes in the game? No. But for me, it hasn't gotten to the point where I hate it more than I like it. I spend most of my money looking after my family. Got two teenagers who will be going to university way too soon. Got some home renovations coming up next month. I don't smoke, drink only sporatically and don't actually have any other hobbies. So, I don't mind the money I spend on the game, as long as I don't go overboard. I have bad days like everyone else, and I come here to talk/vent/rant/chat about it with others like me. It's a form of group therapy.

It's a form of group therapy. We are in very similar situations, loved ROBOTECH so much I even had a crush on 1st Lt. Misa Hayase lol. But I do drink more often and enjoy some other hobbies, game wise I like warplanes simulations better, I think we should all break from this addiction that is doing most of us more harm than good, I do hate it more than I like it. I’m gonna dedicate more time to those hobbies and keep around the forum just for giggles. Maybe I’ll play from time to time just as I seldom smoke to remind me of how much it stinks and sucks...

I was more of a Minmei fan until she became a train wreck!
I like space fighter simulators too. Haven't found one I like since I finished Galaxy on Fire 2. And of course, I'll always love the Wing Commander series on the PC! My brother bought me a joystick for that game and I really wore that thing down (get your mind out of the gutter!).

Ditto. I usually play for an 60 - 90 minutes every evening. Last night I played two battles and felt ... meh. So, I watched TV instead. I never saw THE WIRE, it's quite good!

I posted in the developer live stream just before the leech came out. “Please don’t release the leech because a lot of long time players will quit, I have been playing for 3 years”. 3 days later a leech showed up in my hangar. “Congratulations you won from the dev live stream”. I leveled it up and tested it out, at first it was great, everyone was shooting at it and whoever I choose dies. Then a week later no one shoots at it and even avoided the beacon it died on, now it’s a giant laser show, leeches every where. I’m leeched by at least three red clan leeches when I dropped. So it’s as I predicted, Pix sure sold a lot of leeches in the past month. And much more phantoms the month before. I can feel the heat at one time or another to pump money to feed the addiction but cool heads still need to prevail, it’s a video game just the same as any other video games you are not playing anymore, when it is no longer fun, quit. I told my clan I am hanging on for the banter on Discord, if not for that I would have quit a long time ago

I think this is it... I feel you, my friend. Today was my first taste of being Leeches by 3 at one time...such a stupid thing Pix did here. I won’t quit just yet, but I will not go up in leagues. When things get too stupid in War Robots, I switch over to a little Call of Duty Mobile, where I can shoot anyone, anytime! Hope you hang, understand if ya don’t......

cav8r"I felt no joy or purpose to keep playing something so ridiculously twisted and bizarre." My sentiments exactly. Despite everything I used to keep playing War Robots and still have fun. But recently the game was so broken on steam that I felt disgust. And to make things worse, Pixonic is working hard to expand the "circus" instead of trying to fix it. LytePossibly the best cop show ever made.

I'm going take a closer look at DISCORD. I like the idea that everyone's working with the same tech (more or less) therefore win/lose comes closer to being about skill, tactics, strategy, etc.

Kinda off topic but have any of you tried having a hangar x tournament? Very hard to get 8 or 10 or 12 players willing to go on at the same time and do this. When I was playing 6 pack I suggested hangar x to have play variety but it didn’t work. Most 6pack players are very rigid with their rules. They won’t even try beacon rush

cav8r your mistake is being in Masters league. There’s a hard boundary between Expert 1 and Master 3, above it you’re mostly playing Champions with a huge power disparity, below it there’s usually a 3 to 4 league spread of players, and yes there’s a power disparity but not as ridiculous, and there’s more variety. I know because I play in Expert but last night I unexpectedly creeped into the lowest part of Master 3 and immediately began facing maxed out Champions. 90% of players were the same 5 bots with high level last stands, lock down everything, and using phase shift at every opportunity. The battle wait eta was 9s and when I finally made it back to Expert the eta went up to 26s, so there’s definitely a different pool of players across this boundary. You may find Expert fun, or maybe not, just fyi. To stay in Expert don’t level weapons much if any above 7 and bots only to 9 and don’t drive Ares, Ao Jun, Leech, etc. But do mix it up, experiment with different bots and builds.

Well then, lol... It may take a little more detective work but check around still if you want because I think 6 pack is its own group within the game. I think the forum was just one of the outlets to get involved in it. I know I've seen they've got a discord server and probably a Facebook page. Sry I don't know more.

If you're serious about quitting, then I suggest you sell all your bots and weapons before leaving. That way you won't be tempted to come back as much.
Not implying that you should leave or anything. Just giving you a suggestion to break your addiction I guess.
