So, I just went in and took out Phase Shift for most of the bots that were equipped with it. The only ones left using it are my Loki and my Blitz - and I think I'll remove it from my Blitz too. I dropped below 10k power cells and that was an eye opener. I'd gotten so used to using PS that I've developed sloppy piloting habits. For example, I'll be too careless when making my attack run, or not worrying too much about where I'm jumping in my Spectre. I got to the point where I would hit the button as soon as I started taking damage - where my initial reason for using it was to escape Ares and Ao Jun.
IDK, I think I was a better player before I started relying on it. I'm going back to using only Quantum Radar for most of my builds!

And even then... it's for game winning/losing scenarios.

My bots are not equipped with PS. I use advance repair on my t-falcon. It eats up my PC like anything. Every match atleast 80 PCs. In One match it took 160 PCs. But it's worth. I'm trying maximum not to use PCs.

And have gone back to Guided Access unless I’m squadding. Actually, I used PS once in battle by trifecta of user errors. First, I installed PS on a HB in my project incubator hanger, after reading about its effectiveness vs. Arestrains. Second, weeks later I accidentally selected said incubator hanger (seriously underwhelming equipment, including lvl 1 sheet, Bots I don’t use, no pilots, etc.) Third, I hit PS thinking it was heal. Oops. At least I had mender in there for it’s Mk2 upgrade to save the day.

I've neen using PS and Advanced Healing a lot lately...mainly to boost my Honor earnings for Operations, especially considering the number of PCs earned through Operations. Will probably go back to hoarding PCs once the event ends...down to just over 80k lol

I still wish I had it occasionally, but not having it makes me act more thoughtfully and be more anticipatory. I have Quantum Radar on everything by my new Ao Jun, which has Lockdown Ammo. Even healing can be considered a crutch. "I've gotten myself in a pinch and need healing to get me out of it." It doesn't have to be like that, but it is for me. Quantum Radar is just necessary for all the stealth out there, but I'm using it more judiciously too. Only when something is time sensitive, like a beacon change. If I can wait, I try to. I'm down to 19k PCs. Down from 30k...in less than 3 weeks. It keeps me sane. Also, I'm in the long arid plain of PC drought that is the chasm between the masters and champion chests. No free green crack for me for a while.

I removed PS a while back....ran done to less than 10 PC and was burning Au to get more.......
Besides, the whole PS thing is kinda lame, IMO.....as are a few other in game features.

The only reason bad habits form is when we dont establish personal guidelines for power cell usage. I am almost done writing my approach, which is common sense, but difficult to implement if we dont try. Will post soon, as maybe people will find it as useful as I have

Proud to say I haven't phase shifted even once since it's release.
It's just a gimmick most of the time anyway, a vast majority of the time they just die 5 seconds later anyway.

Lol, same can be said about Last Stand, though the advantage of Last Stand is you can still fire your weapons. With PS, a lot of the time people activate it when they’re about to die, which is silly and wasteful. I use it sparingly on Loki, and oscillate between stealth and PS with Pursuer = longevity and more damage output. It is also useful on Hellburner for penetrating a huddle of Greeks, on Phantom for closing on an enemy, and on Ao Jun especially if it is equipped with cooldown booster and some module related skills that prolong effect or activate instantly at an hp threshold. I dont agree is a gimmick because I keep seeing it produce good results when used properly.

I just started using PS on a couple of bots and...oh boy do I like it more than I thought I would. It's VERY useful, and VERY expensive I should just stop now and go through withdrawals.

I feel ya. When running out of PCs, I felt a bit crippled without the use of Phase Shift on Phantom. When I do have PCs to use it, I'm using it to avoid the smallest amounts of damage. I think I'm going to stop using it for a session in order to get used to playing without PCs.
I've started using PS on Mercury too. Gotta stop that as well.

Me coming at a Fairy or Au Junk in my Destrier and they Phase Shift.
Seriously you have a magical pink babydoll negligee or stealthed in-flight dragonbreath sorcery and you still need phase shift to beat me. Shame you couldn't Death Mark me as the well.

where my initial reason for using it was to escape Ares and Ao Jun. Off topic a bit, but I was going to create a thread about this exact point. I have been thinking for a while that the PS was a rushed out soft nerf for Ares and Jun, but it just makes them stronger. Yeah, the rest of the bots get to avoid Retribution and Dragon breath, but those meta bot pilots get to dish it out and remain untouchable straight after (and they usually have more green crack than the rest of us). I have been trying to stick with the positives recently (or just not play), but this power creep is insane if you don't have the resources for Last Stand and Anti Control. One volley of four energy shotguns locks you down and you get to spend three seconds thinking about your next bot while you don't shoot back. This is literally the only game that I have ever played where you are obliged to watch your character just die and do nothing. Other than Mortal Kombat, and that's a sort of joke game.

For lower league players, like me, I was taking down Ares and Ao Jun by PS during goo/breath attack....it does work, but it is also lame. Since winrate is meaningless, I concentrate on learning tactics rather than gimmicks. I get many use gimmicks every battle, and that is fine for them. Just because I walk into a Cigar bar doesn’t mean I “gotta” smoke..........

I put it on the Mercury recently with idea of jumping into trouble unloading Glory and Halo on the way in and then try to get to cover. I had it on the strider and used it amfew times but usually doesnt help. I’ve never had a PS issue. About 80K now. Last 3!!! Gold chest spins have been PS. Pretty disappointed each time I get them. Free keys from OPs so whatever.

There have been many times when I've activated Quantum Radar only for the Ao Jun to activate Phase Shift. 60 power cells gone, Pixonic laughs.

I tried it, had a blast, was also getting careless until I ran out out of green phills for first time, Switched the modules back to Quantum Radar and end of my short story with PS
Seen them way less lately on the field, I guess most couldn’t keep up. Some ehem.... “heavy spending players” (not to have my comment moved to rants by our magenta friend) still swallow green phills like movie night popcorn though.

They would use it just to take a beacon, an uncontested beacon. Even when the game was a wash and most of their guys were already spawn raiding.

i used Phase on my Strider Ancile/Ecu Halo with max Fort, AC, an took down many a Phantom an Loki over the past few day. i was suprised on how effective it was.
i also Ran a Raven Ork/Halo/Pinata with Phase and did well.
in the end i dumped Phase as you become to reliant on it. been in matches where i've seen one Ao Jun use phase over 6 times an thats to expensive to run all the time.
the only Crack Module i use these days is Quantum Radar only.

I agree that use of PS can develop bad habits. I was using it on an Ares and Phantom. Went from 170,000 PC to about 155,000. Stopped using it as a crutch and have gone back to no PC use except Quantum Radar on Lokis (hate those buggers!) Phantom is off line at the moment and I may continue using PS with it as it was fairly effective.
