I have 4950 gold and have been saving up for a 5th slot, but I was wondering is there a better use for this? 1)What weapons would you spend this on? 2)What robot would you get? 3)Would you buy the 5th slot? Your input would be awesome!

What league are you in, what bots do you have in your hangar? What levels is your gear? Need a bit more info first!

A Look at your hangar and stats would mean a lot to give any sort of advice on this matter

More info... 5th slot can be a burden if certain conditions aren't met. Didn't used to be that way, but it is now.

If this is you...
... Personally, I'd postpone getting 5th slot until I build and level up 4 decent setups. I see you're still early in your game, so, I would recommend exploring a little bit more to figure out what you like. Play skirmish, try to get into test server to get the idea of what you like, because 5k AU is a LOT, and you really don't want to waste it on something you won't use, or won't like...

I would re-post your hangar in a thread for hangar advice. There's a lot of changes you need make. I'd use the 5k gold to facilitate that hangar tweeking. Right off the bat, you need to go back through how you're allocating weapons to your bots. If possible, you want similar range weapons on the same bots so you can attack with all at once at the same distance. Also, it helps to have similar types of weapons together... machine guns with machine guns, rockets together, energy/plasma together, and so on. That's not critical but it helps vs different types of shielded opponents. And it helps with the timing of firing and reloads.

Okay if that is your hangar, I would try to get one or two fast bots.
What weapon/bots are you currently cooking in the workshop? Mender or Blitz would be a nice addition.
Or if you want to have some immediate fun, how about a Rogatka? It can use the two Punisher Ts from the Fujin?
Or just save the Au for now, keep playing, and spin Silver or Gold chests as many times as you can. And decide on what you get from those chests (e.g. it would be a bummer if you won another Rog from a Silver chest, after you bought one with 1500Au?) (well you can run 2 of them of course)
...
EDIT: you have a potentially very good weapon: Redeemer. Perhaps replace the Natasha with a Leo and let it carry the Redeemer while you upgrade the weapon. You can also put the Blaze on the Leo and two more ... hmm ... Punishers for the moment. Don’t use or upgrade Zenit nor Gekko,
EDIT2: Avengers and Storms are currently good Au weapons. But I am not sure whether they will continue to be good. There has been talks about Avenger nerf for some time. Perhaps don't buy them now and aim to get weapons from Silver (Storm) and Gold (bunch of other meta weapons) chests,
EDIT3: do NOT use Au to quicken upgrade, to buy skins, to gamble on pilot skills, and to activate modules. Save them if you don't have a better option,

Save. Your hangar is still far away from the meta-game... and since you are so early in the game, you can’t know what your steady-state level of play will ultimately be, there is no point in spending premium currency right now.

Below are my suggestions in the order I would 1) Pilots! Get 3 skills for bots those that you see in your line up in the near future. 2) Weapons! specifically avengers. Dual avengers will be wicked on your natasha. 3) 5th slot! not my primary choice. you can manage your league and complete the needed upgrades for your lineup gear faster. 4) Bots! again not in my priority list. Semi-meta bots (falcon, HB, strider) are too expensive (6500 Au), others (butch, rhino, carnage, fury, lancy, etc) are either not worth, or available through chests and/or WS. use primarily WS to produce bots, and try your luck on the silver/gold chests. WS may take long time though. Unrelated to your questions, but consider matching the weapon types and ranges for your bots

My order of priority for spending gold is always the same: 1) pilots/skills 2) hangar slots 3) premium modules. With Pixo seemingly hellbent on nerfing cheap weapons like Avenger and co, I can't really recommend spending Au on them anymore.

BTW, I like playing the games that have beacons, but my reaction time isn't great, so I prefer bigger bots than can take a hit. The small really quick ones wouldn't hold up well with the incoming firepower that I seem to draw.

So class of bots you're looking for would be tanks. Fenrir, Invader, Falcon, Bulwark, Lancelot.... Or bots with more agility that have damage resistance like Mender, Ao Guang, Phantom or who knows what else pixo threw our way recently lol, hard to keep up... Good news is that some of those can be acquired with gold. Bad news is that it's more than 5k,except Lancelot, and you'll need to invest additional AU in pilot skills like Traditionalist for Falcon. But, being new in this game, and with having in mind that any project you pick for your next bot is a long-term commitment, maybe the best place to start is wiki. You'll see all the numbers there. Of course all that doesn't mean much without field experience, so, I repeat once again, skirmish and test server to figure out what you want/like. Here's the link to get you started when I was starting to play this game, I spent hours a day browsing through wiki, and that was a long time ago, when there was like 20ish bots and weapons... Now, with all the additions, modules, pilots, you're looking at hundreds and hundreds of combinations to set up a bot warrobots.fandom.com/wiki/War_Robots_Wiki

Thanks all. I'm not a huge fan of Skirmish, but maybe I need to put some time into it to try other setups. And it puts you on the only even playing field in the game... all bots and weapons are the same level and everyone has the same hangar (unless they are rotating multiple hangars, but still everyone has the CHANCE to get the same hangar). You could go against any level of player... which being so low in leagues will allow you to (hopefully) be able to play with/against a higher league player that (again, hopefully) knows their stuff to allow for some shadowing to pick up some tips for play style.
And RE: the small fast bots... they take practice. Their form of play is not mastered in a day, it takes a lot of trial and effort. Check out the Strider thread for some great examples of what they are capable of from the player executing those maneuvers' perspective before deciding unequivocally that you don't have what it takes. It's eye-opening.

Played a handful of Skirmishes today. Is it tiny bot weekend? I did ok sometimes, but spent a lot of time dead on the sidelines watching. I wish I knew more about the game. I did fairly well with a bolt on one of the settings, but each time they give new weapons, so I cannot practice because it takes a while when to jump in.

There is another way to play with stuff if you have friends you can play with. Custom games, hangar x. This is current lineup, and it doesn't change often

Dont rush, dont try to keep up with the joneses, just have fun and play your way. If you want a 5th slot go for it. Never use gold for upgrades. Try playing without pilots until you have bots you like worth spending gold on.

I’d advise you to go with this first, you need to consolidate what you have and round up some consistency in the sense Joopiter is saying. A couple of rules of thumb, never spend Au buying bots or a second Hagar, use the workshop and spin chests instead. I’d also tell you to get rid of those hydras, spiral and zeniths but as some others say, find out first what you like and what works best for you

The small really quick ones wouldn't hold up well with the incoming firepower that I seem to draw. A fast bot is good at the beginning of matches. Run around and cap a few Beacons before the match settles into a slog fest. Beacons are great for Honor points ->rankings->Au, Ag and Keys. You don't have to be extra durable if you're fast. Once you get used to maps and the usual SOP of matches, you can really clean up. I have a couple strategies for each map and each initial spawn location. I always drop my Beacon capper first and try to get 3 quick Beacons at the start. The key is knowing where you can get to before anyone else and safely get on your way to the next target. Any other Beacons captured or turned are just icing. Once you have a couple of Beacons, you can drop your heavies and lumber around to kill Reds. BR is great to transport slow bots.

Thanks for all the information. I have not gotten to play too much(I'm buying a house) But my boys have been playing my hanger, because they like my setup....... But they also knew I was wanting a 5th slot, so when one of them realized the au was there they bought it for me..win win right. So for now I'm moving my Bolt to the slot and mess with it until I figure out a "Plan B" Thanks again for your help.
