I wouldnt worry too much about the level cap until I get there. Because it is most likely going to take so many games to reach those higher levels that I wont get there

What do you want to be it it's more along the lines of:
"Well done comrade, you get big pat on back and big feeling of accomplishment." Let's see.... Free pilots, free gold, free silver, free keys, free powercells and some other odds and ends.... Yet people still find a reason to ?female dog?. Priceless. I have seen this written, I don't know how many times - when they changed the economy 3 years ago (and other iterations since), introduction of Royale (and it's iterations), introduction of Black market, introduction of events (the structure of events was 「dookie」 but you used to get a lot more gear in those earlier events with some certainty), changed to Battle crates (and then nerfed), changes to Silver payouts (then nerfed), introduction to Power cells, introduction of WS 2.0 (and then nerfed). How have they worked out to date? They are in this to make money and they use these as "hooks" for sales promotions and generation - look at the annual report, look at their presentations where they describe how they entice people and the mechanisms they use, they even openly state now how they use Skirmish and what they have it for (listen to the last dev stream) - it's no secret. Don't get me wrong, it's great to get "free" stuff through playing (they don't just GIVE you free stuff) but there is ALWAYS a catch with Pix.

But I'm not a super dedicated muli-hour a day player. A lot are.

And in just what way are gold, keys and powercells free? All are the result of play, are they not? Play requires time, and time is, as they say, money...
"If you're not the customer, you're the product".
Time is only money if you would be otherwise earning money during that period. The ideal. Is playing at work whilst getting paid overtime rates.

Yeah, I know full well that most people in this game don't have too much patience and would spend a little to save some time. This is playing right into pixonic's hand, but I can't stop them. I can only control my own actions. So ã??fluffernutterã? em. Kinda why I get so much enjoyment out of bucking the trend. I might play in Pix' construct but I play to my rules. And I too say ?fluffernutter? 'em. Project Carnage starts next week. Nice to hear that there will be another Carnage in the upper leagues. Good luck comrade And yes, best way to play this game is to play by your own rules and for your own reasons. Following the carrot Pix puts in front of you will always end with dissatisfaction and frustration. Play to Win, but play your own style.

As an F2P it seems as though it is just the same as it ever was. Play a few games, press a few buttons... Get some stuff. "Watch" a few adds... Get some stuff. It's just that some of the old buttons have been replaced with new buttons.... Not the first time. One may not get the same amount of stuff. But your still getting things for just playing the game. I am quite sure that everyone gets at the least some Ag for just playing a match.
If one does not put real money into the game, one should not expect to get the same pay out as one who does. And complaning about it as though it is some sort of injustist that has been placed upon the F2P population... smh.

Sounds reasonable
Considering you were grinding for less just 3 days ago and were happy about it, it is indeed free ?dookie?.

Project Carnage starts next week. i plan on buying a Fortifier and Slaping that bad boy on my Carny. From a theoretical standpoint, I don't recommend anyone getting a Fortifier module for a Carnage. Here's why: 1. Energy meta: a good 80% of weapons used in the upper leagues is energy weapons. Using 5000 gold to buff your energy shield is a massive waste since it's not gonna protect you against most of the weapons being fired your way. 2. Better options available for 5k gold: Last Stand gives you that extra few seconds of survivability that goes a long way in winning 1v1 battles. Anti-Control is perhaps the most useful passive module for a Carnage. Getting locked down is perhaps the number reason that leads to my death, and a module that allows me to bypass the lockdown effect once every few seconds is HUGE for my survival. You're free to do whatever you please, but as someone who's very very experienced in piloting a Carnage, I must warn you against it.

Screw fairness and rewarding skill am I right. That's like saying that the richest team should win over the most skilled team. What's the point of playing to get better if you can just pay your way to victory? Greed motivated corruption at its finest. If the power gap between paying players and non-paying players is just gonna keep getting bigger and bigger, might as well quit. If all it takes to win is flashing some cash, then it takes a lot of fun from this game. IMO, YMMV.

The biggest grip F2P has with P2W is the ever increasing divide in the power gap. If the divide is low enough that it can be made up for with some REASONABLE grinding, then it's all good. Paying to save SOME time in grinding is cool in my books. The current model is like a bunch of highschoolers (F2P) being forced to play against adults (P2W) in competitive sports.

For example, 2yrs ago: Your pay: $20, cost of living: $40. Now, your pay: $50, cost of living: $120. We're getting more free stuff than ever before, but it just doesn't mean as much as it used to since the standards of living is higher than ever before as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I'm getting free 「dookie」, but I also know that it doesn't really make any real difference.

But something feels really good about copping a big hit from a meta bot and still remain standing. Yeah, that's true. But the Carnage is gonna remain at the lower end of tanky bot spectrum no matter what, so might as well go the other way and boost up its firepower and speed as much as possible (that's my reasoning). Plus, I find it more 「deteriorated bum-bum」 to dodge the enemy attack rather than tank it. Love the feeling of not even getting my paint scratched lol.

Or, an Ancilot, or a Hellburner (ancille/ECU setup) Too bad there's no medium slot ancille ;-)

Let's be honest though, with your hanger and what you run, would anything make a difference? Of course it makes a difference. It's the difference between a player having a hanger 3 times more powerful than me vs having one 4 or 5 times more powerful. My skills, or Skillz as I like to say, can make up for a lot in power disparity. But as the power gap grows, I'm having to play better and better to just keep up. One day, my hanger and me as a player are gonna hit our absolute max ceiling, and that's gonna be the day I'll have to pack up and move on to something else.

Ahhh, but what has happened to the ratio of what's needed to obtain and max out equipment in a timely manner, compared to the resources that are being "given" out?. And yes, those are quotes around the word "given".
Couple what I have been "given" this weekend with the upgrade overdrive that is also happening and I now have several more items at lvl12. So, what was your argument again? I still do not see why some are mad about free ?dookie? Well, how about some math:
All that free stuff would make up for the fact that 2 Tarans would need to be upgraded from mk1-10 to mk1-12 to be as effective as they were pre-OXP.
So, all good there. However:
All that free stuff in no way makes up for the fact that 4 Gusts would need to go from mk1-10 to mk2-12 to be almost as effective in burst as they were pre-OXP.
All that free stuff in no way makes up for the fact that 4 Orkans would need to be upgraded from mk1-10 to mk2-11 to be as effective in burst as they were pre-OXP.
One step forward with "free stuff". One step backwards to upgrade Tarans. Four steps backwards for Gusts. Four steps backwards for Orkans.
Please explain - why should I not be unhappy with "one step forward, nine steps back"?
