Wrong name! These is nothing “leech” like of this bot. Its ability is reflect damage, not HP sucking. Reflect damage mechanic is nothing new, there is plenty of it in ARPG, eg Diablo, where you get a fixed % of damage reflect automatically back to you when activated. This actually introduce a tactical element to the game, eg you don’t want to activate your ultra instinct move when reflect dmg is on, because it will reflect back to you and kill you.
The current implementation of Pix’s reflect damage is too complicated and confusing. It just makes the battlefield even more of a confusing mess.
Reflect damage should be automatic and direct only back to the attacker. No chaining effect. No reflect back the reflected.
It should have a bubble like reflector, And it should bypass purple shield. This will introduce some interesting team play, eg when you see a fellow Blue is targeted by Ares, just before it activate retribution to finish off your teammate, you step in and activate your reflector shield and bounce all those dmg back and kill the attacking Ares.... how satisfying.

So this is essentially an Ares without the shield?

So this is essentially an Ares without the shield? Not really The part I don't like is he can target whomever he likes through walls and inflict any 'leeched' damage.

I take back what I said about Teleport becoming the new meta. It’s so cool I thought for sure they would go that direction, but having watched the video showing a Leech stand in front of an Ares, activate ability, take a full frontal of weapon fire and retribution, and see the Ares essentially almost KILL ITSELF without the Leech even firing, and having played a bunch on test server, for sure this robot will be the next heavy hitter, that is in a way somewhat similar to shocktrain effects. We are gonna have to be careful about being LOS, and how do you do that if Leeches are everywhere?

This bot is 「slow」 and will thin pub games because your teammates will kill you by being dim witted fools. Not like they have a choice tho with speed enhanced 4 medium spectres running at them.

This is what I told my clan mates! Pix made a wall hack Disguised as a robot. Period end of story. It’s stupid. Once we start seeing 5 of these maxed its game over. Way worse then ares. At least with ares I can use cover. That is now gone and u can take damage any where and any time. ?

At least the monotony of the Ares train is ending? It will be nice to have something new to complain about.

For those suggesting we should just "not buy it" in protest...yeah, that's really going to work. Think about all the other bots and weapons people suggested not buying and how many people are using them right now. Sorry...ain't gonna happen. As soon as Billy Richkid, that gets laughed at in school because of those mountainous zits, sees this thing, he will have a platoon of them. Just to be able to be the one kicking sand in someone else's face. Yeah, hoping people would come to their senses and not encourage the release of OP bots is, from a historical standpoint, too idealistic. People will buy them, and the vast majority that won't buy it, will work to get their hands on one of them at the soonest opportunity. The rest of us, well we just gotta prepare for Leeches the best we can. Also, I know you're not being serious, but implying that those who pay to get the OP bots are either ugly/sadistic or have something else wrong with them is pretty lame. And before you ask, no. I am not a P2W player. Pure Free to Play guy here (cause I'm cheap as ?fluffernutter? in real life). Actually, I have no problems with "wallet warriors", as they are called in World of Tanks. Without them, the servers would shut down and the game would disappear. Takes money to pay developers and artists that make this stuff. And servers don't run for free. We also have a term for Billy Richkid's older brother, who is probably a millennial that sits in Dad's basement eating nachos and tacos and basically leeching off his parents generosity, while becoming an "expert" at a video game. We called them "neckbeards" . Lame or not, sometimes the truth hurts. Me? I'm an old fart (70) that is spending my pension on dumb video games that are an enjoyable way to kill time. I will probably never be spectacular at them. I just enjoy blowing [Edited] up.

I have zero problems with those who pay, but I just hate how Pix is selling power (purposely OP gear so that it's more enticing to players) and people are indirectly encourages their practise. Selling power is something I look down at cause then the game becomes a competition on who's spending more than who rather than who's the actual better player. If Pix sells things like skins, watching ads for more resources and other things that don't directly impact in-game performance, then I'm perfectly fine with it. I might even spend a little here and there if Pix sells the right stuff for the right reasons.

From watching 1 video on it (Kitty War Robots) I noticed that breaking the lock on will stop the damage. Stealth works perfect to counter this. Quantum Radar is flip side of it though. Still, will the Leech switch on Quantum Radar to target you when he can target someone else near by? I'm not so sure. Pursuers might benefit from this and Spectres. I suspect that clans will run a combination of Ares and Leeches to take advantage of the benefits of both. Is your clan moving up on an Ares train? Move the Leeches forward. If it's something else, lead with the Ares.

It’s very simple.
If Leech turns out to introduce another unbalanced and game breaking mechanic making game play less fun for all involved, then once again I just won’t get one.
I have never been tempted to get the Ares exactly BECAUSE matches with all-Ares hangars on both sides are very boring. Once I get one, I more or less force my opponents (= fellow War Robots players) to also get one to keep up. The end result: Ares wars for weeks before Pix shows mercy and nerfs the abomination. Of course only to push the next one.
Be part of the next Phildo epidemic if you like. But if you think something is ridiculously unbalanced then just (for once) don’t get it.
PS: I know I am hopelessly delusional. ?

I might even spend a little here and there if Pix sells the right stuff for the right reasons. Ugh...Armored Warfare does that skin-selling stuff. To me, it detracts from the game, unless the Premium skins actually DO something. I notice the award skins in War Robots's Operation Gathering Storm for the Fujin and Lance have +5% in their description. I think that is a boost to the shield. That's cool. Plus they look nice. As to the bots Pix sells that are "OP", I have some of them. To me, it's an "equalizer" for folks like me that don't get a lot of time to play the game so we don't have the opportunity to level-up "normal" bots to be competitive. I bought the "Greek trio" and Ao Jun. They were just "okay" when I got them, but now that they are progressively being upgraded and I am getting the hang of using them, I am actually able to stay competitive against some of the Diamond-level players. I know there are some new bots coming and one of them is supposed to be spectacularly OP. I can live with that. Eventually something else will come out that is better. That's just the way of these games. If Pix just stayed with what they have, they would stagnate and lose players.

They know that competition is very fierce among us western countries, and they cater to that. I have the Ares and I don't think I could ever call playing it boring. If this is the "nerfed" version, than holy smokes, I would have liked to have seen it's prior incarnation. Not saying I will buy this next OP bot. I just don't have the cash to do that. But it will most certainly change the play style of many that are currently king of the hill.

That's what I'm worried about most. Being punished for the stupidity of my teammates. Shocktrain era's back with a vengence. Ouch! Now THERE is a scary-depressing thought. Seeing the new stuff coming out, I happily welcome our former overlords the Shocktrains.

At least with Ares you can run into its shield and shoot it, but what can you do with Leech but running? You cannot shoot back, and with 4 medium weapons it can chase and kill you very quick.
Sick bot...

Less firepower trade off for speed, small hit box, instant recharge at 50% hp, suppression... i like my leeches though, the moroz skins look nice with my Arthur.
