Well, I got my first invader ready just in time for gust nerfdom. Wondering: would a scourge spark invader be better off than a gust/Storm one?
my gusts and storm are OE. My sparks wouldn’t be OE
Would a spark/Taran build be any better?
Confused and looking for input. I’m late to the meta as usual.
Thanks in advance.

When in super close melee I don't like having lockon

When in super close melee I don't like having lockon This is a good point. You'd almost need to run Quantum Radar on it. However, the gust nerf would likely make this underwhelming. Halo/Corona is probably best. After that, it's up to you. If you do the Scourge/Spark, definitely keep Quantum Radar on and approach carefully.

It's tough call on that one. Typically shotguns would be better, but the gust nerf may put scourge/spark in 2nd place behind energy shotguns. I really like the scourge spark playstyle with guidance operator. It's nice being able to wear on someone at 600m.
I guess you're looking at a huge investment difference, so I'd do the storm/gust for now. Just try to get shot grouping pilot skills.

If you run Invader more in CQC like me, I have found that although the Scourge Spark set up is brutal against one enemy, it becomes very clear very quickly that you chose the wrong weapons for this kind of fighting. The lock-on is a real problem. You can play back, but then you are wasting the main weapon of the Invader which is the suppression, so my vote is definitely no on Invader.
Magnum Taran Corona Halo and properly enhanced Gust Storm will all perform well on Invader

I usually Scourge from distance or near cover, wait for them to pop stealth, then leap at them with lockon ready to go when they time out. Is Magnum/Taran still viable? I haven’t seen much of them nowadays.
