The sacrificial Raven ... or.... crazy jumps that draw reds back home so team can snag side beacons. I'm kinda surprised that I've not seen anyone else pull this lil stunt. Maybe there's something I'm missing but when my team of randoms are paying attention, it works really well. At the start of the battle, on CANYON and ROME I'll use one of Ravens to cross the entire map, right into red's backyard! This causes at least two or three (or more) of the reds to return home to kill me. On ROME, with two jumps you can jump right over the coliseum. On CANYON, if you start at the edge, with two jumps you can cross the ravine and end up a few feet from red's home beacon. Any else got some long distance crossings they'd like to share? I launch myself into the Coliseum like a three-point shot in basketball. Getting out without getting zapped is more complicated. On Castle, you can get from just outside your home beacon to across the gorge and next to the red home beacon in a couple of jumps, and from the upper pipeline onto the lower bridge beacon in two jumps also. I like pulling an ambush jump from beacon to beacon over the center structure in Powerplant.

Yeah! Into the Coliseum is fun as heck and yeah, getting out clean is another matter! lol
I so named the wrong map... I didn't mean CANYON... I meant CASTLE... you right, you can jump across the ravine and drop into their backyard. I've not tried that upper pipeline to bridge one!
I'll try the POWERPLANT one too! Thanks!

Advanced Repair Unit??
Probably something totally obvious. Waited forever. Patience was rewarded with a $5 Raven. Finally got it up into the Mk2 process. Loaded Adrian pilot, Anti Control, Last Stand, Death Mark, and Cryo Rime. The main thing I just changed up was replaced Death Mark with Advance Repair Unit = super helpful. Obviously using DM on top of the jump damage boost, the cryo damage vulnerability (frozen death mark essentially) and other damage enhancements is insane. However, I have found the Advanced Repair Unit is really important for the Raven longevity (because of the way I play it), and it still does insane work without DM. I will also test Phase Shift, but like my Phantom, using Advanced Repair Unit seems to be far more useful to combat longevity = can cause more havoc! Was discussing with Old-Cat about whether to use Raven or Phantom first for beacons. My feeling is that Shotty Raven would be good first, but not Cryo unless you’re in squad supporting Phantoms to a beacon. I’m running cryo, so what I do is Phantom first, then I use raven later in match to ambush and get to uncontested beacons quickly if we’re behind. I imagine Lottie reading this and being like: The enemies that get killed by my Cryo Raven are like: Caw Caw, Caawwww I tend to only use abbreviations for modules, sorry. Advanced Repair Unit = Advance Repair Unit

Any else got some long distance crossings they'd like to share? My most notable Raven moments often include jumping straight from home base into: - the centre of Yamantau (a favourite)
- the Colosseum (another favourite)
- any beacon on Shenzhen, the red home base included (a suicidal favourite)
- the centre or side beacons of Canyon
Also, jumping into the centre beacon of Springfield.
And taking perch on the highest places in Yamantau when running Arballistas.
It almost always lasts the first jump (even at lower levels) when at least one ECU is equipped.

I appreciate this is a matter of personal preference, play style, and experience, That said, Ravens rule.
Running 2 in Champion league. One RDB (Tulumbus/Pin) MK2 lvl 6. The other was Corona/Halo MK 1 lvl 9, now switching to Hussar/Marquees with Quantum Radar. Both level 9.
First, the sheer enjoyment of pure mobility. Playing around with the ground, angle of jumps, being about to grab center on Rome, Moon, and Castle, even if I have to sacrifice the bot. My RDB raven is the ultimate finisher. Picking off Ao Jun when they think theyre safe behind cover is truly satisfying. It’s a skill bot to be sure, but it’s one of the most flexible in terms of load out, function, ranges, and mobility.
Second, its cheap to produce, level, and has adapted to each change in the meta, thus far. At the higher levels of Champion, 6,000+, it’s all Leeches, Ao Jun, and Phantoms. Been in matches with, no joke, 28 Leeches on red team. Won’t lie, the Raven struggles. Clever Survivor, Foolhardy Taskmaster, Phase Shift, heavy armor mods are essential, and sometimes only slightly delay the inevitable. Still, Silver for Silver, the Raven holds its own, earns me on average 1.3mil in Damage. That adds up, over time, to whats needed to buy and upgrade the more meta bots in my hangar.
Third, I find myself falling back on the Raven when the meta changes. Let’s me focus on having 1-3 seriously current bots (right now running two Ao Jun, and a Leech, previously ran an Ares, Falcon, and Fenrir). The more narrow your focus on leveling the bots, pilots, and weapons, the quicker your hangar will gel. It’s a great feeling when a hangar comes together, and just works.
Fourth, every time you jump you get a free death mark not just on one bot, but on every bot in range. Don’t underestimate a 20% boost in damage on MK 2 weapons. Even meta bots have their weak moments. Raven is brilliant at exploiting those weaknesses. The ability to ambush, flank, surprise, sneak attack, can not be stressed enough. Team work is key, as is communication. Partnering up with a Tulumbus Specter for real fun and demolitions.
I’m a Raven fan, it’s by far my favorite bot in the game. If you’re looking for a real workhorse, that can adjust to each change in the meta, or a bot that can fill a hangar slot while something better is being leveled/ built, or if you just want to be first to grab center and sacrifice the bot right after, consider the Raven.
Enjoy!

I've been encouraging one of my sons to use his in Masters. He is using magnums and Tarans at the moment, but I don't think they are ideal. Does anyone use lead hose?

Tarans and Mag work great, you just need to get them leveled up. I'm running Mk2L4 right now on both types, and once I finish leveling the Pins on my RDB Raven to M2L12, I'm going to do the same for the Magnums, and then follow suit with the mediums. IIRC, it was Mk1L9 when they really woke up, and somewhere along the line I also got the reactor modules to L4. So you might have a lot of upward potential.

I was watching a War Robots video earlier today and the host was showing off some other tech and then said something like ... "...and you can try this out yourself on the test server." Hmm?! <~~ that'd be me Is there some place to go try stuff out on one of the maps... sans people shooting at ya!? My immediate thought is to go practice jumps with my Raven. Oh and... how does one get to the test server? That'd be the most important question! Thanks! I've never been to this magical test server land, but it will have people shooting at you. I think what you want is a "custom match" which I think is only an option when you are in a clan. Click on the shield, then click "Create Custom Game" You don't have to invite anyone, just hit that big red "Fight" button and go test your equipment. You'll have the random map to yourself. You can select any map you want to try, click on the settings button to the left of "Random map"

I've never tried it. I guess it would be okay if you spent the gold for shotgrouping and speedshooter, damage at a reasonable distance and relatively high dps up close. Its not a horrible idea since they are cheap to max and you can switch the pilot skills later if you want to change weapons. I would guess i would play that bot back a bit.
With all that said I would be inclined to advise him to stay w what he has, just stand fast and LV it. I think a killer for people is not sticking w a plan so they can make more silver down the road. Pick some weapons and run with it if you like the playstyle and are cool with the roll it fills.

Here!! here!! What could possibly be more fun, more practical, more effective, than mobility?? Jumping over stuff... crossing an entire maps in seconds... jumping into the middle of some hairy brawl.... jumping out of some hairy brawl.... the list goes on and on and on.... Yesterday, I experienced my first third jump and it was so perfectly timed, third jumped out of some hairy sh*t, recovered and jumped right back in for another kill!! The only other bot that brings me a similar kind of joy is my Scooter! Why?! Wicked mobility! No matter what PIX throws out onto the field, I'm all Raven ... and all Scooter... all of the time! First time in a while that I've been excited about one of the PIX events! I just learned that there's a skin to be won for Raven in the New Year's event. It gives a 5% defense/health boost. And... looks pretty cool. Not over the top on color.

My Hussar marquees Raven is shutting down games alone. Skirt 600M, sync reloads with jump cycles, it takes down phantom's, leeches, AJs, and Ares especially since I have 100M advantage.

I really wish Pixonic would grant the Raven a 3rd module slot. It's basically the upgrade to Griffin (RIP Griffin), but we kinda got gypped. Heck, I see no reason why all bots shouldn't have 3 slots. Each bot is already unique. Having the same number of modules wouldn't change that. If they're never going to give Raven a 3rd slot, then I propose a Griffin 2.0 which has the same ability as Raven, but 3 module slots, and maybe a wee bit more speed and health. Come on! Who is with me?
