Anybody run one in Champs? If so what what mods , skills and load outs are working for you?
I’m leveling mine now. I’m thinking about lockdown shotguns for the medium slot and kinetic for the light. Laststand and anticontrol mods. Armor, extra jump skill , mechanic and if maybe I’ll come off the hip for a fourth and slot Wonderworker
You who think outside of the box let me know what’s working.

It's still good in champion. I ran an aphid/vortex and spark/scourge for a while. And still throw it in sometimes when solo'ing. It's not a good choice for top clan play, but for mixing same ole same ole up, it's great. After the buff, it'll be even better. Unfortunately, it'd need more than the recent buffs on the test server to get it into the meta.

Yeah.. Meta it aint, thats what intrigues me. I've been testing some moves in custom games and that sucker can do some crazy crap.
I do think w phase shift coming and the 20% damage boost after a jump it will be a hoot to run and could be effective in the right spots; it might even have a place in team play. Caw Caw.

Mine's at level 9 right now with a L9 RDB setup, double reactors, the mechanic skill that activates when we're three beacons down, quartermaster to cut active module costs (I'm current running repair), and I just tonight rolled WONDERWORKER. I'm in Masters 2 and usually run Raven as one of my two last bots (typically Pursuer is the other one). It's great as a cleanup killer and beacon capper. With Wonderworker, I might drop the repair module and go to lockdown, but I don't know yet. I also run a L9 RDB Griffin that's got Road Hog and enhanced Pins; it'll get put into storage if I get another Raven someday but otherwise it's still working for me too.

Look up Lottie Rose’s YouTube videos on the Raven. She runs an all-Raven hangar and is remarkably successful with it.

I run one in Champs. Scourge/Spark is my preferred set up. My pilot has Mechanic and Guidance Operator (faster lock on). I have an anti-control mod equipped and occasionally use lockdown ammo.
On bigger maps my Raven can be deadly. I've killed many Ares with this bot. Wait until their bubble wears off and then melt them at range with lockdown ammo. Eventually someone will try to lock me down and that's when the anti-control module shines.
Not a meta bot, but it can be a lot of fun. Every so often I get frustrated with it and remove it from my hangar. After a couple matches it's back in. I always miss it's mobility and flexible range.

I went with armor , speed and resistance for my third skill. I just upgraded to 3 last night so I don’t know if I’ll keep resistance on it, we will see. I suspect this will end up being my first five slot pilot.
Anticontrol is a must with this bot in mid champs to be mildly competitive. If you don’t have it leave this bot alone IMO.
I love it so far. I can’t believe some of the moves I can pull off. If your careful and pick the correct moment you can be a beacon stealing fool. You almost never see them so I think it’s capability catches people off guard. I have to say it been the best use of resources I’ve spent in some time. I play to have fun and this sucka makes me smile.
I’m in the process of upgrading lockdown shotguns. At present I'm running tarans and shredders. It’s working fine but I think the high dps of shotguns will fit how I want to run it better, we will see.

I really like the play of the Raven in Skirmishes. The ground it can cover...
No the sky is not a safe place.
It never was.
Even more reason that I prefer it up there.

Extra jump skill Whaaaaa.?!?! For reals?
So that’s what killed me earlier. I originally thought it was a Hover but the trajectory was all wrong as he floated down on top of me with Scourges.
I’m no Raven guy but I can and will advocate practicing moves in custom mode. Every minute you invest in perfecting some freaky deeky moves in custom will pay off in spades when you get smooth with it in battle. Rave on, cawwwwwwww

I will dm you in Doscord shortly, the video from test server I did for Old Cat, showing the use of Phase Shift module to effectively make Raven a stealth bot during its flight; a stealth that Quantum Radar can’t uncloak!

I love my Raven (and Griffins). Cool to see a high level player doing all Ravens.
Mine is a bit weak at L9 with L7 spark/scourge is not enough juice to risk being out in the open long enough to do significant damage. I might switch back to splash so I spend less time exposed and my enemy doesn't have to be completely exposed also.
I use Quantum Radar though it's short lived and with the lock timing of the Spark/Scourge it's even less effective than it could be. -using basic armor but perhaps damage focus is better Pilot: -Armor expert -Wonderworker -Guidance operator -Road hog -Mechanic

LMAO.. Just saw this thread. I gotta Raven when they first came out and hi hopes for it but quickly found out (mines level 10) your not gonna brawl aggressively with it in Champ league and that was before Aries and the current meta. With only double jump as its ability and being soft as cotton candy the only thing I think it could do well is mid range. And for the money there are better bots out there you could use. Old Cat just has this dream.... :-)

I run one in low champs but 5700, I really1 enjoy it with road hog ,adamant road hog, and clever survivor. With the speed buff and speed skills it will move at nearly 80kph when down a beacon, plus 3 jumps is the 「huge tracts of land」. I use gusto orkan. I think spark scourge or aphid/vortex are probably the most effective builds, but gust Orkan is the most fun I would say.

One of her keys to success is that she has gone all-in on Raven and maxed everything... recycles absolutely everything else. Even then, she admits it’s a bot you have to be careful and methodical using

It sounds good in theory Often I try such a tactic only to find: (in order of what happens most often to least) 1. I can't finish my target off, now I'm right in front of him without jump and without weapons. Try to walk to cover but...ouch 1a. Last stand kicks in and I get wrecked 2. I was so focused on my target, I didn't notice 2 other reds have populated the area, oops. Had I seen that before jump 2, I could avoid the instant death on arrival 3. It actually works beautifully and I have time to get to cover and find my next target/beacon support 4. I leap into center and take out 3-4 low health reds, I feel great until the Ares spawns in before I can take the bacon. Keep in mind my Raven is L9, my spark/scourge are L7. They just don't have enough punch at this level to be effective in matches with champs that run higher level gear, which is more often than not. There is no indicator to tell me I'm facing a Mk2 max level xyz bot. When I'm amongst peers (low master, experts) it works much better.

If only I had that level of situational awareness Actually I play BR mostly, so the coast may be clear on the way in, target in sight, I'm chipping away and jumping in...then...2-3 Reds spawn as I'm landing. Or...I don't yet realize I'm facing much higher level gear.

One of the best things to do is just try to pay attention to bots and weapons. Try to know what they all look like from a distance and try your best to see what EVERYONE on the enemy team is running, then after a while you will get a lot better at situational awareness. I did the same thing (was probably way worse then you) and that was how I got better.

I play on my cell phone so I can't really tell who's playing with what kind of gear. In the past, I'd get slaughtered so often cuz I'd just lumber in and shoot! Now... to get a better sense of what they're rolling with I'll first see how far their health drops with one shot ... if I'm not sure I'm going to hit them... or the full salvo... if I've got a clean shot. If their health barely budges .... it's time to back away! lol

I'll sort of use this as my "flight" experience thread so to speak. Caw... Caw...
Okay I went w mechanic as my forth skill. Its entirely possible I will put two more on this baby, wonderworker and a third jump. I'm still running tarans and shredders, they are just meh. All the new meta stuff is soooo expensive and time consuming. I'm still leveling some coronas but with the gust nerf coming I'm kinda rethinking things. I won two med flamethrower during the event and I'm thinking i would like the splash for some corner shooting and overall annoyance w halos on the small slots.
Its a challenging bot to keep alive at close range, which i like. It still is the most fun bot I've run in ages. As BB said going into custom game is a must to figure out jump distance, trajectory etc. I still mess up moves more than i pull them off. OHH but when I do, I giggle like a school girl.
A clan mate of mine pointed out that I'm at 9600 plus cups ( I don't pay attention to that stuff), so you can run it at mid-champs w degree of success.
" Look up! Look out! If your smart you'll hide" " oh my" CAW.... CAW...

Oh and... how does one get to the test server? That'd be the most important question! Thanks!
